Angel checking on Connor
Angel and Lorne are in Angel's room, looking over Connor in his crib. Angel says he thought he was taller.

Lorne looks at the baby and explains it's the lighting, they don't get smaller until they get really old.

Angel clarifies that he was talking about Groo.

Lorne knew that's what he meant.

Angel wonders if Groo seems shorter.

Lorne agrees, definitely shorter, probably shrunk all over. He figures once Cordelia gets him home she'll just stuff him in a drawer and that will be the end of it.
Angel, Lorne
Angel notes Lorne's comment that Cordy took Groo to her place as he removes his tux jacket and works at his cufflinks. He figures that's a good thing, he didn't want to have to put him up at the Hyperion, "the place was starting to look like a hotel."
Lorne, Angel have a chat
Lorne wonders if Angel has a problem with the fact Cordelia took Groo home as he takes Angel's tux jacket.

Angel insists he doesn't and wonders why Lorne would ask.

Lorne smells the jacket and notices the scent of perfume that wasn't on it before the ballet.

Angel takes the coat back and tells him what happened at the ballet was magic, nothing more, it's worn off. There's nothing between him and Cordelia.
Lorne
Lorne figures there's more to it than that but acknowledges the poor timing of things with Groo showing up.

As Angel hangs up his jacket, he notes it's good that Groo showed up, Cordy deserves a champion and now she has one.
Angel thinks solo is best
Lorne wonders about Angel.

Angel quickly answers that he's fine, he's spent most of his 200+ years alone and when he wasn't, it never turned out well.

Lorne figures if that's the way he wants it. He leaves.

Angel opens the closet door, retrieves the tux jacket and smells the perfume still lingering on it before hanging it back up and slamming the closet door shut.

Cordelia changes clothesGroo appreciates the view
Cordelia is in the bedroom of her apartment, getting out of her evening clothes and into something more casual. Groo waits out in the living room.

Cordelia asks him how he ended up getting deposed in Pylea.

He tells her the people turned against him, endless committees were formed, further divisions occurred when groups split into factions, coalitions and subcommittees. A charismatic leader and his radical group overthrew the government.
Cordy macking on GrooCordy reacts to the vision
Cordelia comes out into the living room, dressed in a simple top and jeans. She wonders if Groo misses all the perks of being the ruler of Pylea; the "power, castles, concubines, and the royal chippies" as she walks up to him.

He says there was never anyone but her. He welcomed the overthrow of his rule, his heart wasn't in it after Cordelia left. They kiss.

Cordelia pulls back from the kiss and looking at Groo, sees a spiked demonic visage instead. She backs slowly away.

Groo wonders if everything is okay.

She looks at him again and sees Groo this time.

WesAngel, Connor
Angel brings Connor down the stairs into the lobby of the hotel where Wes is working. He wonders if Wes is the only one in the office.

Wes confirms he is.

Angel asks if Cordy isn't usually in by now.

Wes thinks she and Groo had some catching up to do.

Angel figures that's probably true.

Wes tells him he'd like to talk to him before the others arrive.

Angel asks what he wants to discuss.

Wes says they need to consider the "fact of him." He knows they all needed time to deal with his arrival but there are questions remaining that should be answered.
Wes, Angel discuss
Angel, thinking Wes is talking about Groo, wonders if Wes is suspicious.

Wes thinks cautious is a better word to describe it.

Angel wonders if Wes thinks he's evil.

Wes isn't getting what Angel is talking about.

Angel goes on to say maybe not evil but he thinks he's hiding something. Angel asks if "he" seems shorter to Wes.
Wes clarifies the topic
Wes looks at the baby and wonders if they're both talking about Connor.

Angel wants to know what Wes is getting at.

Wes reminds him that Connor shouldn't exist.

Angel responds that his birth was foretold, that's not a common occurrence.

Wes acknowledges that Connor has some sort of role to play but they don't know what it is and they can't be afraid to ask the questions because Angel's enemies won't be.
Angel agrees with Wes
Angel agrees they should be prepared.

Wes concedes they'll have to look elsewhere for their answers since the Nyazian prophecies were lost.

Angel reminds him they know where the prophecies are. He suggests retrieving them from Wolfram and Hart.
Wes, Angel discuss plans
Wes thinks there may be other sources they should check first. He points out that ancient works accumulate scholarly study and commentary over the years, perhaps they can find some of that material.

Angel realizes Wes is saying someone else may have already figured things out for them.

Wes hopes that's the case. He says he's been looking into it, he thought Angel should know.

Angel tells him he wants to be totally involved.
Angel not happy to see Groo
Cordelia enters the office and asks who Angel wants to be involved with.

Angel is happy to see Cordelia, not happy to see that Groo has accompanied her and is working with a sword he's removed from the weapons cabinet.

Angel asks Cordy if she could get Groo not to touch his cutlery.

Cordy assures him Groo knows what he's doing. She figures a sword is about all he's going to get to handle.
Angel wonders about the "spiny thing"
Angel asks if they didn't --

Cordy tells him when they got back to her place, things started going there but she couldn't go through with it.

Angel is relieved to hear that.

She says she couldn't after seeing "that disgusting, spiny thing."

Angel looks back at Groo who's still working with the sword, and is curious what the "spiny thing" is about.
Cordy delivers a sketch
Cordelia explains that's what her visions are like now, no pain, just in her face and sometimes smelly as she lays a sketch in front of Wesley of the demon she saw.
Cordelia details her evening
Wes asks if she's saying she had a vision.

She confirms she did, just as she and Groo were getting reacquainted. She found it to be a real mood killer.

Wes tells her she should have called one of them.

Cordy assures him she wouldn't be bothering any of them just because she wanted to have sex and couldn't.

Wes clarifies he was referring to the demon in the vision.

She answers that it's not rising until later in the day.

As Wes looks over the sketch, he asks her why she can't have sex.

She answers that she could lose her "visionity."

Wes looks incredulous and responds, "if you want to play it that way."

She points out she said visionity. She realized when she had the vision that in Pylea the visions would have passed to Groo if they had sex. She doesn't know how she can be sure it won't happen in this dimension.
Angel agrees with the "no sex with Groo" bit
Angel eagerly agrees that she really can't be certain.
Wes offers an opinion
Wes suggests that her recent transformation may have changed that, they don't really know.

Angel kicks the desk to shut Wesley up and offers his opinion that it's better to be safe, he thinks Cordy is doing the right thing.
Cordy watching Groo
Cordelia agrees she can't risk it as she gets up and walks to the door of the office, watching Groo still working out with the sword. She wonders if there isn't some way to make it work as she drools over the view. She wonders if the guys find him as hot as she does.

Wes and Angel kind of quickly agree and move on, neither comfortable with the direction of the conversation.
Cordy pondering com-shuking possibilities
Cordelia ponders the existence of other outlets for them to relieve the sexual tension.

Angel suggests jogging.

Wes suggests the possibility of a "paranormal prophylactic."

Angel cuts him off, repeating his jogging suggestion.

Cordy continues gazing longingly at Groo, wondering if they could do the "com" without the actual "shuk."

Angel doesn't think that sounds like a good idea, she can't be sure things won't go too far.

Cordy figures she wouldn't be upsetting the average in the office since nobody is getting any.

Gunn, Fred share breakfast
Gunn and Fred are at a restaurant having breakfast. Gunn tells her that before the kiss at the ballet, he thought she and Wesley might get something going on.
Gunn
Fred answers that she and Wes are just good friends.

Gunn asks her if she wants to order more food.

She does, then changes her mind.

Gunn wants to know if she's sure as he smiles at her and tells her he loves to watch her eat.
Fred
Fred thinks they should be getting back to the office or people might talk.

Gunn wonders why they would, the two of them have been having breakfast together for weeks.

Fred thinks things are different now that they've kissed. She wonders if Gunn feels that way as well.

He agrees that things are different.

Fred asks if he thinks the others can tell something has changed. She realizes she's being silly, explaining that she's new to this having spent the last five years in a cave.
leaning in for a kiss
Gunn understands that since he's finding himself in a new place as well. As they gaze into each other's eyes, smiling, the waitress delivers the bill.

As they lean in for a kiss, both of their pagers go off. They leave to answer Wesley's page.

Gunn, Fred check out the book
At the hotel, Wes explains that the demon from Cordy's vision has been identified as a Senih'd. He hands Gunn an open book with an illustration of the demon which he then passes to Fred. Wes says the demon is expected to rise under the mid-city area before nightfall. The demon manifests in physical form only to feed. When it rises it will seek a victim, they need to be sure it doesn't find one.
Wes explains the plan
Fred passes the book to Cordy who passes it to Groo.

As Groo studies the illustration, Wes details the plan. Angel will take the sewer tunnels, the rest of them will go to Sorenson Park by car, enter the underground via the water treatment plant and double back.
Groo offers assistance
Groo realizes the illustration resembles a demon he's familiar with from Pylea. He notes he's slain many.

Wes is impressed.

Groo says it will be easy to track, difficult to kill.

Angel rolls his eyes with a 'duh!' kind of response to Groo's observations.

Wes instructs Groo to accompany Angel then tells the others to head out.
Wes tells Angel to deal with it
As the others stock up at the weapons cabinet, Angel lags behind to tell Wes he doesn't think Groo coming along with him is a good idea. He's a loner, Groo is kind of "bulky" and he's sure he'll just be slowed down by him.

Wes reminds him Groo is an experienced warrior, his skills could be useful.

Angel notices Cordy handing Groo one of the swords from the cabinet. He whines to Wes that it's his favorite broadsword. He's not happy to have Groo handling it.

Wes assures him it will be fine.

Cordy worries Groo might not be warm enough in the damp sewer as she hands Angel a small hand ax and kisses Groo good-bye.

Angel just wants to get on with it.

Groo plans to present the demon's head to his beloved.

Angel sarcastically notes she'll love it.

Angel assures Groo Cordy is happy he's there
As Angel and Groo travel through the sewer tunnels, Angel asks if Groo senses anything.

Groo answers, "a deep sadness."

Angel stops and looks at him.

Groo thinks Cordelia is sad and he's afraid he's the reason.

Angel assures him Cordy is very happy that he's there.

Groo wonders what it is that's keeping her from being with him then.

Angel answers that she's afraid if she gets too close, she'll lose something.

A growl is heard in the sewer tunnel. Angel takes a few steps, kneels to the ground where he's noticed blood.

Groo realizes the demon is wounded.

Angel figures the blood trail will lead them straight to it.

The demon suddenly drops down behind them. Fight ensues. Angel and Groo each take their turns at it, neither getting the upper hand. The demon bursts through the wall sending sunlight streaming into the tunnel as it darts out into the park.

Angel has to maneuver quickly, pressing himself tight against the wall to keep from getting hit by the sun.

Groo extends his hand and encourages Angel to follow.

Angel knows he can't.

A woman screams as the demon grabs her.

Groo heads out into the park leaving Angel behind in the shadows of the sewer tunnel.
Cordy congratulates GrooAngel watches from the shadows
Groo charges the demon with his sword as Gunn, Fred and Cordy come running over a nearby hilltop.

Angel watches from the sewer as Groo gets the woman free then kills the demon which liquefies and disappears.

Cordy rushes into Groo's arms, smiling broadly, as Wes congratulates him on a job well done.

Wes notices Angel watching from the shadows, trapped by the sunlight.

Groo reenacts the battle
At the hotel, Groo is reenacting his demon battle for an appreciative audience in Gunn, Fred and Cordy.

Angel is in Wesley's office while a woman, Ms. Frakes, explains her case. She's talking about someone showing up, pushing you aside and taking your place. She thinks this person must be a witch.

Angel's attention is on Groo in the lobby.

Angel redirects his attention to the client and asks her why she thinks the other woman is a witch.

She thinks that must be the case, otherwise she can't see why her fiancé, Jerry, would cheat on her, they've been engaged for eight years. She figures this other woman must have cast a spell of some sort on him.
Wes watches FredFred, Gunn, Cordy enjoy Groo's telling
Wes is on the phone in the lobby office, telling the party on the other end of the line he's seeking something in the original Greek. He watches Fred enjoying Groo's retelling of his battle, smiling as he looks at her smiling.

The party on the other end of the line has what he's looking for.

Wes asks for a price quote.

Angel tells Ms. Frakes that if she gives them the name of the other woman, they'll check her out, see if she's a witch.

She hands him a stack of papers and identifies the woman as "hotblonde37159". She got copies of emails off of Jerry's computer.

Angel tells her it will be difficult tracking the woman down with only that to go on.

Ms. Frakes suggests all they need to do is follow Jerry, he'll lead them straight to her.
Angel tells Wes about the caseGunn agrees to do the job
Wes enters the office.

Angel explains the woman wanted them to stake out her fiancé, he was about to tell her --

Wes cuts him off, offering that they can spare someone to stake out her fiancé. He calls for Gunn. Wes tells Angel if it involves witchcraft, they should check it out.

Gunn enters the office.

Wes tells him the client needs some surveillance work done, he thought Gunn could handle it if he was free.

Gunn agrees.

Wes hands him the papers, confident Gunn can take care of it.

Fred follows after Gunn, telling Wes they won't let him down.

Wesley's expression says Fred's accompanying Gunn wasn't what he had in mind.

Angel and Wes are walking through the stacks in a bookstore. Angel thinks Cordelia and Groo should just do it if that's what she wants.

The clerk asks if he can offer assistance.

Wes describes the book he's looking for.

The clerk departs to retrieve it.
Wes
Angel continues rambling on about Cordy and Groo. Life is short, she should do it if it's what makes her happy.

Wes thinks office romances can just complicate things if people have a falling out or break up.

Angel points out they all fight with each other at one time or another anyway, he doesn't think it would change things much.
doesn't matter who has the visions
Wes reminds him of Cordelia's concern that the visions would pass to Groo.

Angel doesn't see the big deal, it really doesn't matter if she gets them or Groo does.

Wes wonders if Angel is saying Groo could replace Cordelia.

Angel doesn't mean her, necessarily.

Wes realizes Angel's fear is that Groo could replace him.
Angel admits his concerns
Angel admits that's his concern. Groo can do everything he can and some things he can't.

Wes doesn't think that's true.

Angel reminds him what happened in the park, Groo was able to rush into the sunlight and save the day when he couldn't.

Wes assures him that if Groo hadn't been there, the rest of them would have. He reminds Angel he is the reason they were all brought together. The mission is his, they all contribute but he points out that Angel is "unique", like one of the rare volumes in the shop.

The clerk returns with three copies of the "rare" book Wes was seeking.

Cordy, Groo make with the macking
At the hotel, Cordy and Groo are kissing. They stop, she asks him if he's sure.

He says he is.

She assures him there's no need to worry, she practiced a lot on her cousin when they were children. She wants to be sure first that he doesn't get his strength from his hair.

He figures it comes from his muscles.

She laughs, telling him they'll get rid of the "Battlefield Earth hair" along with the animal skins, and he'll be a new person.

Groo wonders if she'll be able to let herself love the new version, if the changes will please her in ways the current version doesn't.

Cordy answers that it's just a makeover, it won't make her like him any better.

Groo quietly accepts that, telling her he understands.
Cordy explains her hesitation
Cordelia knows that Groo didn't come to be made over, he came for something she can't give, herself. She assures him it's not that she doesn't want to be with him, she does, she's never met anyone so "open and sweet." She says there's a definite thing between them, she just --

Groo knows she's afraid if she's with him, she'll be something less than what she was.

Fred sets up the video camera
Jerry gets out of his car, walks across the street and stands in front of a large tree.

Fred and Gunn look on from their vantage point in Gunn's truck. Fred sets up the video camera and turns it on. She wonders if Gunn believes the guy is really under some kind of spell.

Gunn figures it's possible, there are many kinds of love spells. They get close, start kissing.

Fred reminds him they're supposed to be working.
Fred, Gunn get distracted
Fred ponders the possibility that attraction is more about the chemical than the magical between two people. When that pull is there, it just is.

Gunn agrees with that as they start kissing again.

Fred reminds him they're supposed to be on a case as they both look at Jerry still standing in front of the tree.

They start to kiss again, realize they have work to do, and both look back toward Jerry who has disappeared.

Angel and Wes walk through the courtyard, headed into the hotel. Wes plans to start translating right away.

Angel thanks him for what he said earlier, for putting things into perspective.

Wes tells him it can be useful having another warrior on their side but he and Groo are really very different people --
a new GrooAngel, Wes ponder Groo's new look
As they enter the hotel, they see a made over Groo, who is now a mirror image of Angel; short, spiked hair and Angel's wardrobe.

Wes finishes his thought -- totally different and look exactly alike.

The fact Groo is wearing his clothes isn't lost on Angel.

Wes notes at least they fit him well.

Angel enters Wesley's office where Cordelia is sitting behind the desk. He mentions Groo is wearing his clothes.

Cordy thinks they look good and points out they're about the same size, except she thinks Groo is a little taller. She gets up from behind the desk and looks out the doorway into the lobby at Groo, smiling broadly. She thinks he looks great.
Angel wants to know how he can helpCordy tells Angel what she needs
Angel starts to say something but before he gets the chance, Cordy interrupts, telling him she needs his assistance.

Angel wonders if she's had a vision.

Cordy answers it's not about that, it's something personal.

Angel wants to know what it is.

She doesn't really want to ask, but she thinks Angel is the only one she can trust with this, something only Angel can do.

He wants to know what it is.

She hesitates, knowing he's done a lot for her. She figures he'll just have to add this to the list.

He assures her he doesn't keep score.

Cordy tells him she needs him to help her have sex -- with Groo.
Angel's reaction to Cordy's requestcasting a glance at Groo
Angel looks at Cordelia, then looks out into the lobby at Groo who's chatting with Wes, not knowing exactly what it is Cordelia is expecting.

Cordy smiles and waves at Groo. He waves back.

Angel looks uncomfortable.

Cordy says she's realized it wasn't the fear of losing the visions that kept her from getting close, it's her. The visions were just an excuse, she always seems to manage to find one. She's tired of being lonely so she worked it out.

Angel wonders how.

She excitedly explains that what Wes said about the "paranormal prophylactic" got her thinking she couldn't be the only woman on earth who has a supernatural gift that could be lost if she had sex. She did some research and discovered there's a "protective potion." If she takes it, "Then bang! I can!"

Cordelia writes down an address for Angel as she explains the woman, Anita, is in the business of making love potions, elixirs, things like that, and she says she has just what Cordelia needs. She hands Angel the slip of paper.
Cordy gives Angel the cash
Angel mutters Cordelia wants him to get this for her.

She pulls a wad of cash out of her pocket and hands it to him, telling him she went to the ATM, it just about drained her account but it's worth it to her.

Angel's response, "So you and Groo can --"
Cordy anxious to get with the com-shuking
Cordy eagerly finishes for him, "Com-shuk like bunnies. You betcha!"

Angel asks why she doesn't just send Groo to get the potion.

She says she is sending him, he insists on going and that's why she needs Angel.

Angel doesn't understand what she's talking about.

She explains that Groo is a stranger to this world, he doesn't understand how things work, she can't send him to a demon brothel alone. She trusts him but she's not crazy.

Angel is still processing the brothel thing.

Cordy figures Angel will be safe there since he won't be tempted. She trusts him to look after Groo.
Groo appreciates Angel's help
Groo approaches and asks if they're ready.

Cordy thinks so.

Groo thanks Angel for his help, telling him he's been a good friend to both of them as he puts his arm around Angel and Cordy smiles.

Gunn, Fred try to figure it out
Gunn and Fred walk around the tree, searching for some sign of Jerry but find none. Gunn wonders how they're going to explain to Wes they lost the guy.

Fred's noticed Jerry's car is still across the street so figures he can't have gone too far.

Gunn picks up a rose that Jerry had been holding from the ground. He realizes they had the video camera running so must have whatever happened on tape.

As they watch the tape replay in the camera viewer, they see Jerry standing by the tree then suddenly being sucked down into the ground. Gunn doesn't think this bodes well.

Suddenly, Gunn and Fred are sucked down into the ground just as Jerry had been.

At the brothel, Anita compliments Angel and Groo on their matching "outfits".

Angel doesn't like the term "outfit".

Anita asks if they aren't there together.

Groo enthusiastically answers yes, they are two champions there together as he puts his hand on Angel's shoulder.

Angel shrugs Groo's hand off and tells Anita they are not "together together". He just wants to get the potion and get out of there.
Angel watches the couple in the room
As they walk down the hall, Angel pauses by one of the rooms and looks through the open door. He watches a couple surrounded by bubbles, pillow fighting on top of the bed.

Anita explains the room is enchanted, everything is magnified for maximum pleasurable effect. She offers to check the schedule of availability for the room if there's someone Angel would like to bring as she leads Groo down the hall.

Angel lags behind, still watching for a bit.
Angel stops Groo from making a 'rescue'
Anita leads Groo into another room where a man is chained to the wall. The man greets him with a pleasant, "hello."

Groo rushes to his "rescue".

The guy isn't too happy about that turn of events.

Angel stops Groo from unchaining the guy, explaining he wants to be in that position.
Anita gets paid
Angel tells Anita they'll be on their way if she'll just give them the potion.

She wants to know if he brought cash.

Angel hands her the money.

She retrieves a small, glowing blue bottle from thin air and hands it to Groo with instructions to be sure his "princess" drinks all of the contents at once.
Gunn, Fred in a predicament
She tells Angel she understands why Groo is there but wonders what's in it for him.

Angel's cell phone rings. He answers

Gunn tells him he and Fred are under Plummer Park where they are bound tightly by tree roots, he explains what happened. They were tailing Jerry, then they lost him, but they found him again along with his date. Gunn explains it as "some root crazy tree-like demony thing."

Fred adds that it has a DSL connection as she sees the computer nearby. She figures the demon chats up lonely people online then lures them to it to use as food. She thinks it may get its power that way as Gunn notes the appendage jammed into Jerry.
Angel takes a call
Angel asks if they've contacted Wes yet.

Gunn was hoping to avoid that, they didn't really want to bother him with this if they didn't have to. Gunn isn't sure Wes could do much to help anyway, he thinks they need Groo.

Angel hands Groo the phone.

Angel urges caution
Angel and Groo approach the underground dwelling of the tree demon from the sewer tunnel. Groo is anxious to do the job.

Angel urges caution. He senses the evil and wonders if Groo does as well.

Groo bolts for the battle.

Angel stops him and reminds him they need to be careful.

Groo agrees as he removes the potion from his pocket and asks Angel to keep it safe for him.

Angel agrees, taking the potion and putting it in his pocket. Before he can suggest a plan of action, Groo has raced forward, sword in hand.

As Groo is hacking away at the tree's roots, he is suddenly skewered through the chest by one, lifted off of his feet, jerked forward and dropped to the ground.

Fred wonders what they're going to do now.

Angel arrives, notices the condition Groo is in and is most concerned about the fact the shirt Groo has been skewered in is his.

Angel asks Fred if the tree is made of wood as he picks up Groo's sword.

Fred answers she thinks it's flesh.

Angel finds that something he can work with.

Fred isn't sure hacking it will do any good since it doesn't appear to have any vital organs. It gets its energy from the people it feeds off of.

Gunn points out it's been getting stronger since it started draining Groo.

Angel gets an idea. He drops the sword and walks to stand in front of the face of the tree demon asking if it really thinks Groo is that much better than anyone else.

The demon replies that Groo is "magnificent".

Angel thinks "magnificently stupid" is more like it considering he's walking around while Groo is the one with the large root rammed into his chest.
Angel gets skewered
Angel walks over to Groo, ranting about being tired of all the Groo worship as he punches him. He tells him it's nothing personal as he continues pummeling him, ranting his reasons for being irritated with everyone and their Groo admiration.

As Angel punches him into unconsciousness, the tree releases its grip, pulls out of Groo and impales Angel.
Gunn, Angel after the demon is defeated
Angel drops to his knees but isn't too bothered beyond that, pointing out his heart isn't being used anyway.

The tree demon lets him know it intends to kill him.

Angel informs it he's already dead.

It realizes there's no warmth, he's a vampire.

Angel wonders if he forgot to mention that.

The demon moans as it weakens and loses its grip, setting Fred and Gunn free.

Gunn picks up the sword and plunges it into the demon, finishing it off, as Fred tends to Groo.

Angel asks Fred how Groo is.

She tells him he'll be okay, thanks to Angel's actions.

Gunn, Fred, Wes
Wes is in his office with Fred and Gunn, finishing up a phone call with Ms. Frakes. He hangs up and tells them the client is pleased, they saved her fiancé's life.

There is an awkward silence.

Wes suggests they get cleaned up and asks Gunn if he could have a word with him. Fred leaves.

Gunn asks Wes what he wants to talk about.

Wes thinks Gunn should have told him when things became more than a "tryst".

Gunn says things happened too fast, the guy just disappeared before they knew what had happened.

Wes tells him that isn't what he was referring to.
GunnWes expresses his concern for Fred
Gunn realizes Wes was referring to his relationship with Fred. He isn't sure it's really Wesley's business.

Wes understands that, he just doesn't want to see Fred get hurt. He hopes that isn't going to happen.

Gunn asks if Wes is her brother.

He answers, "Apparently."

The light dawns on Gunn. He starts to say something.

Wes interrupts him, telling him Fred made her choice. It's just important to him that she's taken care of.

Gunn assures him she will be.

Wes is glad to hear it as he goes back to his books.

Gunn starts to leave the office, stops and turns, looking at Wes a moment but Wes is focused on the open book laying on his desk. Gunn leaves.

Wes looks up and watches as he departs.

Out in the lobby, Cordy tears Groo's shirt open so she can dress his wound.

Angel cringes as she rips the shirt.

She apologizes for that.

He says it's okay, it was already ruined.

Cordy offers the fact she was going to rip it off of Groo later anyway as consolation. She wants to know if Angel got the potion.

Angel holds up the bottle.
Angel doesn't think a confession is necessary Cordy wants to know what happened
Cordy notes Groo is a fast healer, almost as fast as Angel, as she cleans up his wound.

Groo offers that he has a confession to make.

Angel doesn't think he needs to.

Cordelia wants to know what confession. She demands to know if something happened at the brothel, telling Angel he was supposed to look after him.

Angel says nothing happened except Groo was very brave and saved the day.

Cordelia smiles and affectionately slugs Groo on the arm, calling him a hero.

He tells the truth, he was reckless and endangered them all. It was Angel who saved the day.
Cordy impressed with Groo's nobility
Cordelia gazes at Groo and asks Angel if he heard that.

Angel starts to shrug it off as nothing important but Cordy already has as she's impressed Groo is so noble, he'd just give away the credit like that. She finds that nobility thing a turn on as she urgently demands the potion from Angel.

She takes it, grabs Groo by the shirt and pulls him to his feet, anxious to get out of there.
Cordy asks what Angel wants
Angel calls after her.

She stops and impatiently asks what he wanted her for. She signals Groo to wait by the door as she walks back over to where Angel is standing. She asks what he wants.
Angel asks Cordy for a favor
He takes her hand and puts a large roll of bills into it.

She asks what that is.

He answers it's some cash he saved up.

Cordy wonders why he's giving it to her

He tells her he did something for her earlier, now he wants her to do something for him. He wants her to take a couple of weeks off, take Groo someplace nice, someplace in the sun. He thinks he'd like that. He wants Cordy to promise she'll do it.

She agrees.

She starts to leave, turns back to him noting the wound on his chest. She asks if he's sure he doesn't need some patching up himself.

He tells her he's fine, "didn't hurt a bit."

She joins Groo by the door, they walk out, arms wrapped around each other.

Wes comes out of the office and watches as Angel goes upstairs.

Lorne, AngelAngel gazing at his son
Lorne puts Connor down in his crib.

Angel enters and thanks him for taking care of the baby.

Lorne asks him if he's all right.

Angel looks down at a smiling baby and smiles back, telling Lorne he's okay.

In the office, Wes is writing "the son" on a piece of paper as he looks at one of his books continuing his translation of the Nyazian prophecy that first foretold Connor's birth. His expression is one of concern.
Angel realizing he's not aloneWesley's translation
Angel walks in with Connor and asks if Wes is working late.

Wes quietly notes he was startled, he thought he was alone.

Angel smiles at Connor and replies, "Yeah, so did I." He kisses the baby, enjoying the company of his son. He leaves Wesley to his work.

Wes looks down at the paper he was writing his translation on, "The father -- will kill -- the son."
