Groo brings tea
Cordelia is working in the office, going through some papers. Groo enters carrying a tray with tea. Cordy greets him and asks what he's carrying.

He answers he knows she's concerned about Angel so he made a Pylean tea, Mochna, it's for stress.

Cordelia looks at it and notes it resembles muddy water.

Groo says the mud is what gives it body and flavor but he had to make a few substitutions because some of the ingredients aren't available in this dimension. He admits it isn't exact, but it's pretty close to the real thing.

Cordelia cracks that it's "mock Mochna" then.

Groo doesn't get it. He offers her a drink as he extends the cup toward her.

Cordelia hesitantly takes it, drinks from it, and tries to hide the fact she clearly didn't find it appetizing. She tells him she can feel the stress draining away already as she starts to cough. She notices Groo's concern and explains it was just a little sediment, it got caught in her throat. She tells him it's good.
Cordy misunderstanding
Groo asks if he can further reduce her stress by rubbing her "schlug-tee."

Cordelia looks around nervously and offers they can do that later when they get home. She whispers she's not comfortable having sex in the office.

Groo thinks she means she wants to have sex now and says it loudly.

Cordelia shushes him and tells him that's not what she was saying.

Groo explains he was offering to massage her "schlug-tee", and clarifies those are her neck muscles, but he's more than willing to go for the sex instead if that's what she wants. He leans in and whispers into her ear they can do it later at home, he understands.

Cordelia says, "Angel" having seen him coming into the lobby.

Groo tells her that's not who he is.

She says she knows that and points behind him, saying Angel just came in.
Angel returns
Cordelia walks over to Angel, wondering if he overheard her conversation with Groo.

Angel doesn't know what she's talking about.

She's relieved to hear that. She asks how things went.

Angel tells her he found Holtz.

She asks what happened.

He answers that he didn't kill him.

A frustrated Cordelia notes perhaps he's growing as a person and asks what he did do.

Angel answers they talked.

Cordelia asks if they talked about Connor.

Angel tells her they did then asks if Connor has come home.
Angel explains Holtz's wishes
Cordelia tells him Connor is still out with Gunn and Fred then notes that Angel referred to the place as "home" in reference to Connor. Angel says it's a long story but basically Holtz wants what's best for Connor. Cordy asks if what's best is Connor living there with them. Angel nods. Cordelia smiles and gives him a hug, telling him she's happy for him.

Groo notes under his breath that "it is a happy time" then downs some tea.

Connor with Holtz's body
As Connor holds Holtz and cries over his body, Justine tells him things didn't have to be this way, Holtz was going to leave, he just wanted to talk to Angelus.

Connor wonders what she meant by Holtz leaving.

She says Angelus won, he could have just walked away.
Connor has a plan
Connor thinks it's his fault and assures Justine Angel will pay for killing Holtz.

Justine offers to help Connor kill him.

He says, "no."

She doesn't understand why he doesn't want to kill Angel after what he's done. She wonders what he plans to do.

Connor doesn't answer but his cold expression indicates he has something in mind.

Angel compares rooms
A happy Angel goes through the hotel, Cordelia following, looking for the right room for Connor. He settles on a choice, figuring it would be nice since it has a southern exposure and isn't too close to his room but not too far away either. He doesn't want him to feel crowded but he wants to be able to keep watch over him.
Cordy offers an opinion
Angel moves a few things around, straightens a picture hanging crooked on the wall then asks Cordelia her opinion.

She thinks this room is as good as the previous five Angel looked at. Cordy notes it's not about the room, it's about Connor. She corrects herself and calls him Steven, not sure she can get used to that.

Angel isn't fond of it either but he says it's what Connor wants.

Cordelia says whatever they call him, it's not about the room, it's about his being there, getting to know his father.

Angel looks around the room and realizes he doesn't have a television. He considers the other things Connor will need; clothes and a weekly allowance. He asks Cordy what the going rate is nowadays, "50 cents or a dollar?"

Cordelia thinks that sounds good "if you're Tom Sawyer painting a fence."

Angel realizes he has no idea about such things. He fears Connor is going to hate him.

Cordelia reassures him Connor won't, she knows he'll love him.

Angel wonders how she knows that.

Cordelia answers he'll love him because of who Angel is.
Angel realizes there's much he doesn't know
Angel ponders that a moment; a vampire who drinks blood, lurks in the shadows and is older than everyone Connor knows added together.

Cordelia admits those things are true and he's also tight with money but that stuff isn't important.

Angel wonders why not.

She says he's a good man, Connor is smart, he'll figure that out. She assures him things will work out. They both smile. She asks if he feels better now or if he still feels the need to look through rooms.
Lorne
Lorne enters and offers his room for Connor. He tells Angel and Cordelia he's catching a plane to Las Vegas the next night.

Angel asks Lorne if he's leaving because of Connor.

Lorne replies it's more about himself. His friend has a club and is in need of a singer and a seer, Lorne figures he can do some good.

Cordy asks about rebuilding Caritas.

Lorne reminds her every time he does that, they destroy it.

Angel and Cordelia look a little guilty as Cordy offers that only happened -- then realizes it happened three times.

Lorne says he enjoyed his time there and the hospitality but he feels it's time to move on.
Angel asks why Lorne is leaving
Angel thinks at least part of the reason Lorne is leaving is Connor's presence.

Lorne admits to that, saying Connor clearly isn't fond of demons. He understands that's how the kid was raised but it's still hard, he loved him as a baby. Lorne warns nobody should turn their back on the kid, he doesn't trust him.

Justine
Justine and Connor pull a pickup off of a country road, into the grass. They get out. Connor looks around and asks about white cliffs.

Justine tells him there aren't any but she thinks the place looks like where Holtz came from.

Connor asks if she means England.

She nods.

Connor wonders if perhaps the place looks more like "the ranch".

Justine isn't sure what he means.

He tells her it's the place he was supposed to grow up, in Utah.

Justine is surprised Holtz told him about that, saying it was their dream.

Connor says he spoke of it often, before they slept, the two of them together where no one would find them.

Justine notices the mention of the two of them, no mention of her, she swallows hard then says they need to bury Holtz.
Connor takes a last look at Holtz
Connor tells her no. He drops the tailgate on the truck, lifts the tarp covering Holtz's body and pauses a moment, looking at him.

Justine offers to take care of it as she retrieves a shovel from the truck bed.

Connor says no, Holtz was "bitten by the beast, he may rise again.

Justine flashes back on what really happened, her plunging an ice pick into Holtz's neck twice, at his bidding, to make it look like a vampire bite.
Connor bids Holtz a final farewell
A determined Connor tells Holtz he'll do what he was taught to do, "cling to the good and lay waste to the evil." He kisses Holtz's body on the forehead, tells him to sleep now and then asks his forgiveness.

He jerks the body out of the truck and dumps it on the ground. He pulls a battle-ax from the truck bed and decapitates the body.

Justine looks away.

Lilah, Wes
Lilah walks into a bar where Wes is seated at a table. There are several beer and shot glasses in front of him, some empty, some full.

Lilah asks if she can join him.

Wes lets her know she's not welcome

She takes a seat anyway as Wes pours a shot into a glass of beer.
Wes not fond of the company
Lilah muses on life's vicissitudes, pointing out Wes once had a place in the big battle now he's out in the cold, no one cares what he thinks. She tells him she cares.

He's not buying it.

She says she does care, "as one human being to another."

Wes looks at her.

She smiles and says, "just kidding." She admits she does care that his knowledge and research skills are being wasted. She asks if Angel's son isn't something unprecedented.

Wesley tells her many mythologies, along with the bible, predict the coming of something that wasn't possible.

Lilah figures it's there now and wonders if it portends something good or mass destruction.

Wes observes every child carries the twin possibilities of salvation or slaughter.

Lilah figures the offspring of two vampires must have more potential than the average kid. She says W&H will be rooting for the slaughter and Wesley's "former people" won't know what to do if things turn badly.

Wes agrees with that.

Lilah points out if Connor is evil, Wes can't kill him because he's Angel's son but the flip side of that is that Connor could kill Angel. She realizes that point may be lost on Wes so decides to use Fred as an example instead. She's thinking Wes is in a tight spot about now. She's relieved not to have a conscience.
Wes makes a pointWes grabs Lilah
Wes suggests it's time she left.

Lilah wonders what it was like for Wes when Justine slashed his throat.

He grabs her by the throat and coldly asks if she really wants to know.

Justine and Connor watch Holtz's body burn on a pyre they've built of brush and branches.

Groo, hanging out
Groo is reclining on the backside of the poof couch in the lobby when Fred and Gunn come in. They don't see him since he's slouched on the other side, away from the door.

Gunn looks around and notes that nobody seems to be there.

Fred thinks that's a good thing.

Gunn doesn't agree, saying they have to find Angel and tell him they messed up.

Fred looks at him.

Gunn realizes maybe she's right.

Fred wonders where everyone is.
Fred, Gunn
Groo gets up from the couch and makes his presence known. He tells them Angel and Cordelia are "upstairs trying out bedrooms."

Gunn and Fred both get a concerned look.

Groo clarifies they're searching for a room for Connor.

Gunn and Fred share a look of relief.

Angel and Cordelia come downstairs, arguing over who's going to explain the facts of life to Connor when the time comes.

Angel points out his experience with the "man/woman thing" has been pretty much "tragic farce."

Cordelia agrees that's true but she still figures it's Angel's job to tell his son that stuff.

Angel hopes she'll at least fill in the blanks, "like what do you do with a woman's schlug-tee again?"

Cordelia stops him and slaps him on the arm, realizing he heard the conversation she had with Groo. She tells him she has plans for him if she catches him eavesdropping on her again. She whispers those plans into his ear.
Groo watching Angel, Cordelia
Gunn, Fred and Groo look on.

After Cordy finishes, Angel asks her if she uses that kind of language at home.
Angel gets the facts from Fred, Gunn
Angel asks Gunn and Fred where Connor is.

Gunn answers that he made a run for it after he overheard the two of them mention Angel's planned visit to Holtz.

Angel figures Connor must have gone to the motel.

Fred says they were just there, they didn't see anyone.

Angel is concerned, knowing Connor will only find an empty room, he won't know what's happened.

Gunn asks what's going on.
Fred
Cordelia answers that Holtz left, he wanted Connor to live with Angel.

Fred thinks that sounds good, then realizes it's good if they find him and tell him first.

Groo notes Connor has entered the hotel.
Angel greets Connor's return
Angel greets Connor and asks if he's okay.

Connor replies that he went to see his -- he pauses then says "he wasn't there."

Angel tells him he's sorry, Holtz left. He pulls the letter Holtz had given him from his pocket and hands it to Connor, telling him Holtz wanted him to have it.
Connor agrees to "give it a try"
Connor takes the letter, scans it, and notes it says his place is now with Angel.

Angel tells him the arrangements don't have to be permanent, he suggests they could give it a try for awhile.

Connor agrees then smiles a creepy smirk and says, "We'll give it a try."

Connor reads over the letter
Connor is in his room sitting on the bed, reading over the last of the letter. Angel knocks and opens the door, bringing in a bookcase and some books. Connor folds the letter.

Angel offers breakfast.

Connor quietly declines.
Connor reacts to Angel's offers
Angel suggests they go out then notices the sunlight outside the window. He realizes staying in is a better idea. He offers doing something special when the sun goes down and asks if Connor has ever seen a movie. Angel thinks he'd like to see an action picture.

Connor doesn't say anything.

Angel tells him if there's anything Connor wants to see or do, just tell him.

Connor gets up from the bed, walks toward Angel and tells him there's one thing.

Angel asks what it is.
Angel stops Connor
Connor makes a move to attack him, Angel stops him. Connor says he wants to know how Angel does that.

Angel wonders if he's asking how to fight.

Connor acknowledges that's what he wants to learn, "to be like you."

Angel smiles proudly and figures there's a thing or two he can teach the kid.

Connor learns a lesson
Angel, Connor, Fred and Gunn are training in the lobby. Angel gets the better of Connor but assures him he'll get it.
Angel asks if Connor has had enough
Cordelia comes out of the office, looks at the training items scattered in the lobby and wonders who's cleaning up the mess.

Angel notes it's been a long day and asks Connor if he's had enough.

Connor answers he wants to learn.

Angel is pleased by that.
Angel issues an invitation
Angel invites Cordy to join the rest of them for a movie that evening. She declines, saying she's spending some alone time with Groo.

Angel goes back to working with Fred and Gunn training Connor.

Groo Cordelia
Cordelia arrives at her apartment and calls to Groo, announcing she's picked up some of his favorites from the store on the way home. She notices something is wrong when she sees him, she asks what it is.

Groo answers that he's wrong for her, he's not the one she loves.

Cordelia hasn't a clue what he's talking about.

Lorne pays Angel a visitAngel's in a good mood
A cheerful Angel answers the door to his room and invites Lorne in. Lorne notes the good mood.

Angel tells him he's taking Connor to a movie.

Lorne figures probably a bloody action movie.

Angel acknowledges that's what he had in mind.
Lorne, Angel
Lorne thinks Connor will love it. He says he's just stopping in to say good-bye.

Angel asks if he's really leaving.

Lorne feels it's time to go.
Lorne's gift to Angel
Angel offers his apologies for that.|

Lorne tells him not to be sorry about it. He hands him a farewell gift, a CD with his picture on the front titled "Songs for the Love Lorne". He notes the title was his publicists idea, she's out of a job now.
He admits that wasn't his real gift, it's that "it's mutual." He tells Angel Cordelia feels the same way about him that he feels about her.

Cordy, Groo
At her place, Cordy wonders what Groo is talking about, telling him she loves -- Groo looks at her. She finishes, saying "you know, us."

Intercut Lorne telling Angel why he and Cordelia belong together as Groo tells Cordelia the same things.

An emotional Groo tells Cordelia he's known it, he's just been "struggling to find the courage to do what's right."
Angel gets advice from Lorne
Lorne suggests to Angel that he should be open to the possibilities, noting Connor is back, Angel's life is coming together, sometimes things do work out. Lorne starts to leave.

Angel tells him good-bye and to keep in touch.

Lorne promises to write and leaves.

Cordelia tells Groo she doesn't know what to say.

He asks her to say he's wrong, to stay, that he's the only one she loves.

Groo packs up his things and heads for the door. He pauses a moment to look back, then leaves.

Cordelia stands in the bedroom, crying.

at the moviesGunn checks for popcorn
Angel, Gunn, Fred and Connor are at a drive-in watching a movie, Angel and Connor in the front seat, Gunn and Fred in the back. Helicopters firing missiles and blowing things up fill the screen.

Gunn dips into the popcorn bucket and comes up empty, noting Fred ate the entire thing.

She points out refills are free.

He takes the bucket and gets out of the car.
Connor immersed in th movie experience
Connor jumps back when a plane appears on screen, seemingly flying toward him.

Angel assures him it's okay, it's just make believe.

Connor points to a helicopter approaching above the screen and asks how they did that.
Gunn sees the chopper arrive
Gunn notices the chopper as well as it moves in and hovers near Angel's car. Several of W&H's commandoes rappel to the ground.
the glare of the chopper spotlight
As the spotlight on the chopper floods the car, Angel directs Fred to get down in the back and tells Connor to get out.

Gunn rushes back and jumps a couple of the commandoes. Fight ensues.

From a van parked nearby, Linwood and Gavin watch the goings on playing out on surveillance equipment. Linwood figures this is payback for Angel humiliating him by tying him up and threatening him.

Gavin watches the screen and notes that Connor is an effective fighter.

Linwood is anxious to get Connor, cut him open and see what he is.

Angel tries to shove Connor out of the way but he refuses to move, continuing the fight.

Linwood notices Angel's effort to protect his son.

Gavin notes they were counting on that.

Linwood wonders what Gavin wasn't counting on.

Gavin continues watching Connor fight and says he didn't count on him fighting so hard to protect Angel.

The commandoes get the order to abort the mission. They take off, the helicopter departs as well.

Angel notices the van parked nearby and heads for it.
Linwood's monitor view of Angel's approach
Linwood sees him coming on the monitor and shouts at his driver to get them out of there.

The driver tries to get moving but the van won't start.

Angel opens the back doors, grabs Linwood and jerks him out.
Angel makes a threat
Linwood figures they're even now.

Angel considers killing him.

Linwood points out that he'd be killing a human in front of his son. He wonders if that's an example he wants to set.

Gunn shouts his vote in the affirmative.

Angel tells Linwood he's not human.

They both hear the sounds of sirens approaching.

Linwood suggests they'd both better leave.
Connor makes a threat of his ownLinwood gets a warning
Angel releases his grip on Linwood.

Connor grabs him and shoves him into the van, telling him to stay away from his father.

Linwood tells him he's not the enemy, he says "we can help you, Steven."

Connor informs him his name is "Connor."

Angel notices that with a bit of pride. He suggests to Connor that they go home.

the photo of Angel, Cordy, WesVision Cordy
Cordelia looks at a photo of herself, Angel and Wesley. She says she doesn't feel that way but even if she did, it's impossible. She hears her own voice say to her that it's ridiculous. She agrees, then looks up and sees a vision of herself, dressed in white, bathed in a white glow.

Vision Cordy says "maybe on some level, I've always known it's true."

Cordelia incredulously responds, "It is?"

Vision Cordy shouts, "I'm in love!"

Cordelia asks, "I am?" Then, as if trying to convince herself, "I am. With Angel, right?"

Vision Cordy says, "with Angel."
Cordy tries to figure it out
Cordelia notes she was just checking to be sure.

Vision Cordy says she's afraid but she knows somehow it will be okay then disappears.

Cordelia thanks her other self for the tip then makes a phone call.

Angel and the others arrive back at the hotel as the phone is ringing. Angel whistles on his way to answer it.

Gunn notes that's something new.

Fred thinks he's just happy.
Angel takes a callCordelia
Angel picks up the phone, Cordy greets him. He asks her how she's doing.

She tells him she's fine and says she has to talk to him about something, in person.

Angel wonders if it's something bad.

Cordelia answers that she thinks it's something good, it depends on how he feels about her. She asks if he can meet her that night.

He agrees and asks where.

She tells him she's always loved Point Dume and gives him directions to a viewpoint there she's fond of.

Angel repeats the directions back to her to make sure he's got them right and agrees to meet her in an hour.
Fred checks the happiness level
Angel hangs up and tells Connor he has to go out for a bit.

Connor asks if he's going to meet with Cordelia.

Angel verifies that.

Connor says she cares about Angel, he likes her, it's good to see him happy.

Fred and Gunn exchange a look. Gunn notes Angel has started humming.

Fred figures he must be really happy. She picks up a stake from the table, moves over to Angel and pokes him a few times in the back with it. She says she just wanted to be sure he wasn't "perfectly happy."

Wes finishing up a night with Lilah
Wesley finishes up having sex with Lilah, telling her the sinking feeling that sometimes comes the morning after arrived early. He rolls over on his back, lying beside her.
Lilah, Wes
She takes a moment, clearly having enjoyed herself.

Wesley tells her to leave.

Lilah smiles and gets out of bed. She sarcastically asks if she's not going to get a kiss or asked when he can see her again.

Wes shoots her a look that gives his answer.

As she gets dressed, she suggests he be careful, telling him the disdainful looks were what turned her on in the first place. She compliments Wesley on his ability to channel his rage, frustration and hate into something productive. She finds that far more appealing than love.
Lilah gets in a few words before leaving"I wasn't thinking about you when you were here."
Wes asks if she's still there.

Lilah tells him she's starting to like him but he shouldn't make more of it than what it is. She assures him she's not like the women he used to work with. She suggests he not think about her after she's left.

He answers, "I wasn't thinking about you when you were here."

Lilah finishes dressing and notes the irony of Angel having a soul while Wesley is losing his.

Angel pulls the car to a stop at the viewpoint, overlooking the ocean. He steps out of the car and does a breath check, exhaling into his palm.

Cordelia tears down the freeway on her way to meet Angel, noting she's late but this isn't a date. She does her own breath check.

Angel looks over the ocean, checks his watch, fusses with his hair. He pulls out his cell phone, starts to make a call but it slips out of his hand and falls down the side of the bluff.

Cordy gets a glow onCordelia practices what to say
Cordelia is in her car working out what she's going to say when she meets with Angel. She starts to do the glow thing and figures this is really bad timing.

All the vehicles on the freeway come to a standstill as a bright glow emanates from inside Cordy's car.

The glow fades out, she looks around to see everyone frozen in place.

Connor arrives
Angel heads back for his car and sees Connor approaching. He asks him what he's doing there.

Connor tells him they're family, he wants to show him how he feels about that. He rushes Angel and tackles him, sending them both tumbling over the bluff to the beach below. Fight ensues.

Angel tries to reason with Connor who's more interested in putting the fighting tactics Angel taught him to good use.

Cordelia gets out of her car and checks out a woman frozen in place in another car.
Cordy startled by Skip
Skip ( "That Vision Thing" , "Birthday") appears and startles her. He asks if she remembers him.

Cordy says she does, he's her demon guide. She asks what's going on, she thinks she's dying.

He assures her she isn't.
Skip, Cordelia
She slugs him in the arm and suggests it would have been good if he'd given her that assurance first.

Skip tells her it's not the end, it's the beginning. He tells her she's a "great warrior", the battle they all fight is fought in many places, many dimensions. He tells her she's outgrown this one, she's become a "higher being."
Cordelia
Cordelia isn't so sure of that.

Skip does the exposition thing, recounting Cordelia's experiences since getting the visions. He tells her the major test was when the Powers made her part demon, pointing out that power corrupts and she was given a lot of power.

Cordy realizes he's referring to the glow job thing.

He notes she didn't abuse the power, only used it wisely.

Cordelia admits she did use it for a night light once, but only one time. She says she doesn't understand.

Skip believes she does.

Cordelia insists she's mostly a normal girl, except for the visions and the new power that sometimes causes things to blow up. She thinks on that a moment and realizes there's something to that "higher being" thing. She wonders what Skip means saying she's outgrown this place.

Skip tells her she'll be moving onto a new place.

Cordelia admits to being afraid.

Skip assures her she's ready.

Cordy doesn't think so.

Skip reminds her the Powers think so and he thinks she knows it too.

Cordelia wishes he'd stop telling her what she knows. She concedes that perhaps she does know and given enough time to get used to the idea -- She pauses and realizes she doesn't have the luxury of time to get used to it.

Connor and Angel continue their fight on the beach. Angel manages to get the upper hand and grabs Connor from behind, immobilizing him. He asks him to talk to him about what's going on.

Connor agrees.

Angel releases him.

Connor hits him with an industrial strength taser of some sort that sends Angel flying backward, through the air a few feet. He lands where the water is washing up onto the beach. Connor goes after him again.
Angel briefly gets the upper hand
Angel grabs him and tells him he doesn't know what's going on with him but he's going to talk.

Connor pulls a knife and shoves it into Angel's side, knocking him to his knees, then hits him again with the taser-like weapon.

Once Angel is down, Connor hits him with it a couple more times until he's unconscious.

Connor pulls out a flashlight and signals a boat waiting offshore.

The boat, with Justine on board, heads in toward the beach.

Cordelia
Cordelia realizes the Powers won't give her the time to have "the most important conversation of my life." She tells Skip she's in love with Angel.

He says her calling transcends love.

Cordelia says it isn't fair, she can't leave without telling Angel how she feels. She starts to cry and wonders why this is happening now.

Skip says she has things to do in the "higher realms."

Cordelia asks Skip if he could at least tell Angel what she was going to tell him.

He says he's not allowed.

Cordelia decides she won't go then.

Skip just looks at her.

She wonders how the Powers could do this to her now, then pauses a moment and realizes this is her final test.

Angel in the box
Connor works on sealing a shipping crate with Angel inside, bound by steel cable. He asks why Connor is doing this.

Connor answers, "You murdered my father."

Angel swears he didn't.

Justine says he's lying.

Angel figures Justine knows the truth. He realizes Connor helped him at the drive-in because he wanted to kill him himself.

Connor tells him he's not going to die, "Killing is too good for you. You don't get to die. You get to live. Forever." He continues working on sealing the crate.

Cordelia makes a decision
Skip reminds Cordelia the clock is ticking.

She tells him if she ever gets the chance to speak with the Powers face to face she'll have some choice words for them.

Skip tells her she's doing the right thing.
Glowy Cordy
She says she's afraid but she knows it's right, she knows somehow things will be okay, whatever happens. She asks him what she should do.

He tells her to just say yes.

She answers, "I already have."

Her white outfit glows softly as she's enveloped by a shaft of bright light filled with smaller specks of golden light surrounding her. She slowly floats upward. She looks down at Skip and smiles then looks upward toward her destination.

[Note: It becomes obvious, after seeing Cordy's meeting with Skip, that the vision she had of herself at her apartment before phoning Angel was a vision of this meeting. Things Cordy interpreted at her apartment as being about her Angel question, "knowing all along" and "being afraid", were said by Vision Cordy to Skip in reference to her ascension.]

Angel tells Connor he loves him, one day he'll know the truth. He tells him not to hate himself when that happens, this isn't his fault, he doesn't blame him.

Connor calls him a liar.

Angel tells him never to forget he loves him as Connor and Justine bolt the lid on the box.
Connor lookis at Angel a last timeAngel takes his last look at the surface
Connor glares at Angel through a window of wire mesh reinforced glass at the head end of the lid for a bit as Justine lights a welding torch and welds the hinges on the crate.

When she finishes, she and Connor push it off of the boat into the ocean.

The crate sinks as Connor and Justine look on, watching it disappear beneath the surface.

They depart on the boat.

Fred, Gunn at the hotel
At the hotel, Fred asks Gunn if Connor wants to join them for a snack.

Gunn says Connor wasn't upstairs.

Fred is concerned. She thinks they should probably tell someone.

Gunn tells her he hasn't been able to reach either Angel or Cordelia.

Fred doesn't think that sounds good. She looks around the empty lobby and wonders where everyone went.
Cordelia ascends
Cordelia continues her journey as the shaft of light lifts her upward. When she reaches the top, there's a bright flash of light, the light shaft and Cordelia disappear.

Angel continues his journey into the depths of the ocean.
