Sorry for not posting reviews for the previous chapters, but I just read Orgins and Revelations in two days, and wanted to wait until i got to the end. Now, please update quickly, because I'm desperate for more.   vikingwriter Hymn Before Action 07/21/2006 07:03 am Right. I've just spent a few days (well, sleepless nights, mostly) catching up on this story. I can't go through and review every piece, nor can I tell you everything I *love* about this. So I'll babble about my favorites. -Where *did* Dawn come from? It makes so much sense that it'd be Spike, since the monks chose Buffy because she could protect her. Plus, if you're going to hide energy in a person, they'd better be damn strong... -Tara's alive! (so far) Yay, because killing her was much of the bad. And I always felt robbed of time with her. And her and Oz ('she's pack') fit so well together, whatever their relationship. -Giles isn't a judgemental bastard (as I seem to being seeing a lot lately). -And Wesley! That's all I can say really, as I'm starting to drool on the keyboard... -Anya. She's still annoying (but in a makes-you-smile sort of way), still funny, still ever so human. -Faith. Yay! And to see her *thinking* about her decisions, tempering her instincts with her experience, well, you do it beautifully. And now that she gets the whole Slayer-Vamp thing (which makes total sense if you buy the whole 'knocked up by demon dust' Creation of the Slayer Theory - they are two sides of the same coin, to use a much over-used phrase), who knows what's in store... -I'm still holding out hope for Xander to get his head out of his arse before he loses it, but obviously that's not my call! And Spike and Buffy. I love that the angst isn't *from* them, but around them. And I like seeing Buffy accepting love, returning it and being open and honest about it. I would've liked to see that revelation play on screen. (And may I please have points for not mentioning, in detail, how much I dislike the cookie speech?) Generally, you've gotten me into each and every character's head, which I appreciate immensly, as you've got quite a cast you're juggling. I also like the Celtic mythology and characters, so that's really exciting for me. It seems like this has been a real struggle for you, but I just wanted to say that, for my part, it was worth it. I'm just really awed and so completely in love with this story, you've no idea. So, please, take your time and keep it up! Knowing Harmony, she won't take kindly to any punishment Angelus decides to dish out. Might even go over the the Slayer's team. You're at your best when things are unfolding, one after another. This is more difficult as the story reaches a climax and gains focus since focus is anti-epic. Probably because the pacing synchronizes with the main "action", which isn't always that interesting, and desynchronizes from everything else. Yet despite the difficulties you still manage to retain the expansiveness and even add new details. Having said all that, this chapter could have been better. 5 out of 6 scenes are strong and 1 is weak. The problem is that the weak scene is both the last, which leaves a definite impression, and the longest. That's actually why it's weak; it's too long for the amount of new meaningful things (ideas, events, thoughts OR emotions) in it. I mean, I'm not a Spuffy fan for the most part, but you make the relationship work and work well. The only complaint I have is that Xander seems a bit more stupid and opionionated than in canon. A couple of times you seemed almost ready to make him recognize that life wasn't black and white, but you haven't done it yet. Jenner is one of the best characters that i have seen in fanfic. i can't wait for you to reveal more about him and his minions. you make the most interesting characters Nia. i'm glad to see that dawn has someone to talk to. i knew tara would be it but i'm glad that dawn opened up. can't keep it all inside. i would have loved to ahve been a fly on the table for that meeting. loved the laughing to clear the tension and the way faith and jenner are drawn to each other. more info on the slayer/vamp mates. least they know they lived for a long time. i was worried about what was gonna happen for a while. i still am but hope they will be ok and the counsil doesn't decide to do something. altho if they did buffy and spike can soooo kick their butts. it was interesting what jenner said about them tho...."they were a sight to behold." i bet they were. thank-you so much for posting. i love tis story so much. I can think of several scenarios, and I'm eager to find out. I doubt Angelus will be dealt with for a while though.
