That was a mean place to stop
Poor Spike, Buffy has no clue who he is - I just hope she treats him better than she did before, if not please don't let Spike just lay down a take it cause the Scoobies have got some serious explaining to and have absolutlely no reason anymore to justify acting like their better than Spike. |
| Like Spike would let that go. I don't think so. But let me remind you, Xander didn't have anything to do with the mind warp. |

| "Cordelia whacked Angel on the head." - I believe we've all wanted to do that at numerous times. Great update, especially with bringing Cordy back. Buffy's got a big enough ego already to still have Angel mooning over her and still be engaged in a pissing contest with Spike about her. I wonder how Buffy will react to Angel and Cordy being together (not well to say the least) - maybe now she'll FINALLY move on from what even Angel admitted was a "tragic farce" (quote for Angel episode regarding made by Angel regarding his expertise in the romance department). God, I so don't understand die hard Bangel shippers. I was sixteen (the same age Buffy was supposed to be) during their "relationship" and I still couldn't understand it. It was just too immature, they were driven by hormones and ideals of true love - they never had a real date and had sex once, the rest was all that poetic soulmates destined to be enemies crap and forbidden love drama. Grow up already. |
| I used to be a Bangle (please don't hurt me!) when there actually was a relationship between them. I was around sixteen too, and I was all dreamy with the soulmate thing they had. Now I've grown up and I watch the old eps finding it sweet, but it was a fantasy that wasn't real. |

| Max | Episode 2- Helping Hands (Part B) | 11/02/2005 06:32 pm |
| I'm glad Gunn got a end - he was never the same after being tricked by that doctor and blaming himself for Fred's death. My guess is that Spike and Illyria did something big to wipe out most of that army - there were WAY too many demons for just Buffy's little group to get rid off using conventional hand-to-hand fighting, even with Willow's dragon trick - all the Scoobies did was wipe clear out a single alley that part of W&H's army were in (an army that was being built up since around the time of Illyria's rule). Consider those in the Fang gang that were still fighting when most of the demon army suddenly dissapeared - the former god-king of the universe and the only vampire in history to willing fight for a soul, become a champion, die and come back without any spells who then figured out how to bend reality itself to his own desires. It's quite possible that those two could have managed to pull off a miracle and defeat W&H and their army. Angel and Gunn my have been suicidal but neither Spike nor Illyria were, they were willing to fight and die but not without at least trying to come up with a way to survive the battle. Given their status, I have no doubt Spike and Illyria could have come up with some crazy-ass plan defeat the senior partners. |
| It would be cool if I could think of a good plan they used. But unfortunately I can't. So, you are going to have to bend belief and accept that Buffy's small group, along with Willow's dragon-rider routine did the work. |

Ok, I'm done with the Buffy bashing (for now at least, hahaha )
Damn Scoobies, they just can't trying to run Buffy's life for her. Hell, half the reason why Buffy was so screwed up was because she was always making decisions based on their opinions and living for their approval. One would think they'd have learned their lesson when Willow did her previous memory spells on them. But no, they have to run Buffy's life again and rape away her memories because they always know what's best for her.
Too bad they are too late for the battle. Considering Spike survived (and doesn't end up as a ghost in Timbuktu [but that would be funnny]), he's definity going to be really bitter to say the least. Watching his friends die while the Scoobies sat on their asses really won't improve Spike's attitude toward them. Poor Spike, even if he had gone to Rome as soon as he could, he would have been rejected once again. Even now, with no memory of Spike, Buffy won't treat him right because it was her experiences with Spike that made her realize how special he was. |
| I enjoy your long reviews. They give me a better sense of the characters. |
| |
| Max | Episode 1- Happily Ever After (Part C) | 10/31/2005 02:23 am |
| So I'm guessing that Buffy couldn't handle losing Spike or realizing just how horrible a person she was to have treated Spike like she did AFTER finally losing the best thing that EVER happened to her. I'm not impressed with people who ignore their mistakes or, in this case, ignore them and can't even handle basic living when they are forced to acknowlege what the have done or caused. Buffy came very close to completely destroying Spike, punishing him simply because she viewed him as "beneath" her. If that spell had to be done so that Buffy could merely live, then she was too weak and too much of a coward to accept the consequences of her abominable actions and try to use the new chance at life that Spike bought her in order to honor his sacrifice try to finally become a better person. Think about this for a minute - after Buffy died, Spike lost the one he loved and he felt like it was his fault for failing her and not keeping his promise to her. The only thing Spike had in the world was his promise to take care of Dawn which he did to honor Buffy's memory. That was all Spike had to keep him going, his promise to protect Dawn - he had no friends or family to speak of and felt like her death was his fault. After Chosen, Buffy did lose Spike but she still had her friends and family as well as that bright and shiny new life that she was always bitching about. Buffy lost one person that she always took for granted but she still had all the people that she always held highest. Spike had nothing and no one when her came back but he never gave up, he even continued to fight the good fight. That said, it's going to take alot change my low view of Buffy, but I'm quite interested to see where you're going with this since it seems Spike just got dusted again. |
You win the battle Go ahead and hate Buffy. I like to live in my own little fantasy land of Spuffidom where Buffy is deserving of Spike (although, I admit your view is more realistic). I'm just a sappy romantic. |

| Max | Episode 1- Happily Ever After (Part B) | 10/30/2005 01:36 am |
| OK, I hate the Scoobies a whole lot more now but I still hate Buffy too, just not as much since her wonderful friends and family raped her of memories. These are the same people who Buffy was too ashamed to treat Spike like an actual person in front of. She may not remember Spike b/of the spell but she still got with that pompous ass who freely admits to being the type a guy who uses countless women for his own pleasure and doesn't care about them. Furthermore, what the hell gave Buffy the right to treat Spike like she did in SD? She'd beat him on a regular basis, knowing he was defenseless against her, and be totally fine about it. (Anyone out there OK with people who enjoy hurting animals that are muzzled and chained? cause that's what the she was doing except worse b/c it was another person instead of an animal) It just got worse during their affair - Buffy beat him much worse and added mental abuse to it for good measure until she finally caused him to snap. Even when Spike finally snapped - he wasn't trying to hurt Buffy, which was evident when he fled SD and got his soul. Spike got his soul and came back where Buffy once again used him for muscle and emotional support for the one instance where he hurt Buffy. On the other hand, Buffy frequently beats Spike and screws up his head until he snaps and when he comes back she falls into the role of "poor little innocent victim" and then goes right back to using Spike. She used his guilt to keep him away from her but close enough to help out and make her feel better. She immediately kissed Angel and told him the stupid cookie-dough speech, telling Angel that there was still a possiblity of her getting back together with him, and writes off her feelings for Spike saying that he was merely "in her heart." I REALLY started hating Buffy when Spike bared his heart to her after she got the Sycthe, telling her that that night was the best night of his life - Spike lays out his heart for her and Buffy crushes it under her heel by her brutal dismissal. Even before "The Girl in Question" aired, I didn't want Spike to go running back to all of that, especially when he was finally getting himself back together again (I always thought that he stayed in LA b/of two things - Spike's strong sense of loyalty wouldn't let him just leave Angel and his new friends in such a bad situation and Spike had absolutely no reason to believe that Buffy did actually love him and wasn't just throwing him a bone before he died) Sorry, but it's still going to take ALOT for me to stop hating Buffy. Despite all of this, you still writing a great story (it'd be even better if you killed those traitous Scoobies) |
| Wow, that was a long rant. *L* I agree, that's why I like to write fanfic and redeem Buffy. All I want is my poor Spike to be happy. Maybe the reason Willow took her memories away in the first place will ease your hate a little. |

| Wow this looks like it can go far. I agree with the others that Angel definitely had that coming (would have preferred more than a slap but thats life). As for Illyria well the only advice i can give is try to keep her as deadpan as possible but with emotions starting to emerge towards Spike more and Angel to a lesser degree. Oh and refer to Spike as her 'pet' cause that was in the series somewhere as well. But all in all this is very promising and would like to see more of it. |

Oh wow. I was actually a little bit unsure of this story at first. Confused about the whole forgetting spike thing. But I am glad that I decided to stick with it on the basis of your writing skills. Now I am totally into the story and will continue reading it because I like it. I read the other reviews and agreed with them on this being a better Buffy that what was "protrayed" in 'the girl in question' however I would like to point out that in JossVerse nothing is ever as It seems. And I am enjoying a different take on this time then what we usually see. |

| EWWW Buffy's with the Immortal! Why does everyone always get mad at Spike for not returning to Buffy when she's "honoring his sacrifice for her" by screwing that worthless piece-of-shit playboy and acting like Spike ever existed. Sorry everyone but I'll admit that I finally said to hell with Buffy when Spike and Angel found out what she was doing in Rome. Maybe the writers thought loyalty was overrated but by the time the end of Angel came around I wanted the fang gang to pull a plan out of their ass and somehow survive while the back-stabbing self-righteous traitors of SD all died gruesome deaths. I HATED how Spike could never catch a break, he died a little bit every episode of Buffy post chip and finally managed to get some of his life back during AtS S5 only to have it all end with their backs to the wall in a hopeless fight while their so-called allies sit on their asses and congragulate themselves on their moral superiority over the only real champions left fighting the good fight. |
| You'll like chapter 2 then. Oh, and once you find out what is going on with Buffy in my story you won't hate her, I guarentee it. |
