Fumbling Towards Ecstasy runs to sixty-eight chapters and the fifth and final book in the series, Angels and Demons, has a hundred chapters, not to mention the ficlets that are set in the same 'verse. Now that it's finished I can't wait for the next "book". The series so far has been absolutely wonderful and I am eagerly awaiting the next addition. I figure a chapter a day is okay for those who want to read the series as a WIP, though it's still probably more than some people can keep up with (would post every other day but I didn't want to still be posting it a year after I started). Lol...that's one thing you can count on from Riley - his faith that a demon will act like a demon if they're unrestrained. Benefits the group that he thinks Spike still has the chip, so doesn't matter now. Yeah, a gyno exam if she was awake and tense would definitely not be comfortable. Hardly comfortable when you're prepared for it. Have to be careful about Willow. She's not pulling power from the right source. Too much too soon will fry her head. And I can just imagine Angel's look of impatience with Spike again. Those two can be so funny. Thank you! Riley is always much the same. Nope, not very pleasant for Dawn at all. Things with Willow will come to a head in the later books. Spike's point about the third reich is right on. It isnt about saving mankind or protecting people - it about genocide of those who are different, its about eliminating the undersirables and controlling those you deem worthy of life. Its not about demons and violence, its about right and wrong. Killing is wrong. Be it man or demon. The true monster is the one who is just following his orders, and those who justify death as a cleansing in the name of human kind! Thanks, honey! I love the way the Spike cut Hank down with nothing but the truth. The way Buffy left and Dawn's reaction as well. It was severally frustrated at Buffy's defense of Riley - but completly in character. I wanted to strangle her and beat some sense into her slayer strengh or no. The bit about torture you had was brilliant and such an important point that is overlooked often. How did Riley have the stake that fast? He has to like torture and have a taste for it - otherwise he would have never had one made. Brilliant brilliant chapter sweetie! Thanks, honey! A fellow writer who started reading when I was about halfway through the fifth book said that she really enjoyed the first couple of books, but it was Ring of Fire where she found herself completely hooked. To me, if someone can pull a series off, its usually pretty good, tho yours do seem more like a novel-length fic being divided into 3. During the 1st book, the only thing that wasn't as good was the lengthy dialogues. They feel more like speeches and they weren't intermitted with hand gestures or anything in the middle. Just one big chunk, you know? The problem is not as severe as the story went on, but I just thought to point it out. Other than that, I love your story. Just enough of Spuffy angstwith a side of fluffy. (Poor Spike) and I'm glad Hank's ass got promptly kicked. Hope to read your update soon! It's inevitable since the series has been written over a period of three and a half or four years that my writing style has changed over that period (hopefully for the better). Also SWBD was never originally intended to be the basis of a series, just a piece of fluff to fill in time until I worked out what my next "proper" story would be. True Colours was my attempt at adding an NC-17 epilogue that simply grew and grew... By the time I got to Ring of FIre I think I began to realise that it was going to be more like a fanfic soap opera than any other genre. With each issue that was resolved, more new ones raised their head. It's only now as the group face the final battle in the "current" WIP (always jbj is very kindly posting this for me a few chapters at a time to allow people to keep track of the updates, but you'll find there's rather more of the story at www,he-s-no-angel.net if you like to read a lot at once), that things are coming to a point where everything can be neatly tied up.   Lou Chapter 1:02 01/04/2006 09:41 pm Buffy kicks ass!
