I mean the planet will be destroyed eventually when the sun dies but before that things that are not demon related will probably kill of any humans left (asteroids most likely) but if the human race hasn't killed of itself in 100-200 years I'm guessing that we will have intersolar travel going on and might be able to defend ourselves from space stuff hitting the planet. Ofcourse before that happens we will probably have killed of this planet with our polution and such so in reality I doubt that he would have to stay on this earth that long but I think that the human race would survive and find other places to screw up so would he have to follow and still help or is he bound to the planet or the human race? I saw this documentary on global warming. Once the ice on greenland melts that's apparantly the point of no return and they predict that to happen in 20 years if things progress the way they do now. The real kicker is that when the arctic ice caps melt they think that a lot of methan gas will be released and then burn making this planet as hot as it was a few million years ago. Literally turning it into hell on earth. With the knowledge that the human race is all about greed and the next quarterly report I think it's a safe bet to say that Spike won't have to be on this planet that much longer. In the sequel I hope to see some sort of Faith - Spike friendship/mentor thing developing. I like that he gave her the chance to go to the clevland hellmouth but also feel that it felt like he just threw her to the wolves and not really caring about her. She wouldn't question his motives, because that would mean questioning her own judgement, and she hates doing that since the Angelus incident. She'd push to find out why Spike refuses to work with Angel, instead. Buffy is insanely curious about other people and always wants to know "why". You insult her intelligence by having her completely bypass the history between Angel and Spike. Hoo boy, where do I begin? O.K, I thought these things were obvious, I guess I was wrong. Have you seen Season Seven? That's what I based my Spike on. He's right smack in the center of a lot of changes and doesn't always know which he should be, the demon or the man. He's changed so much for Tara's sake (much like he did for both Dru AND Buffy on the show) that he's learned a whole set of coping mechanisms that don't always work for him. But he's still developing, have patience with him. As for why he didn't speak his mind to Buffy when she said those things: he said so himself a few paragraphs later. He didn't ever want her to know these aspects of his unlife. Buffy sure as Hell questions her boyfriends motives. She did with Angel and she did with Riley. Buffy thought she KNEW why Spike didn't want to work with Angel. She assumed it was all jealously. Which she also assumes in the show. (See again Season Seven). She at no point during the series actually considers Spike and Angel's history. As I'm using elements of characters used by the shows writers, they cannot be neither OOC nor non-canon. All the characters are flawed. Every last one. That's what makes them human (or demon and human). I'm sorry, but they make mistakes. Tara isn't wholey in the right for being so angry at Buffy. But Buffy wasn't in the right so many times on the show I've lost count. This is a huge issue and everyone is responding emotionally rather than logically. That said, thank you for reading and reviewing, I really need to get back to the next chapter. She said herself that she used to be Cordelia, but I think she probably took the cruelty to another level in L.A. when she needed to. I imagine that she was pretty spoiled before her parent's marriage fell apart, too. Then, after Angel hurt her, she never got over/past it, and that bitterness just grew and grew inside because she would never face an intrapersonal problem. She let people run her life and dictate how it would go. Gee, wonder why you're so unhappy, Buffy? I've always been a sucker for Spike/Tara interaction, and usually only get to enjoy that in Spara fics - which is why I enjoy them. Still, in my mind, part of Spike's character is his love for Buffy. This fic promices to give me both at the same time! Oh, and it's really nicely written too. The characters interactions feel natural, and I'm somehow buying into Spike's quickly shift to non-evil behavior and even mindset. That's something that almost always throws me when fanfic authors try it, but you've made it work for me.
