It had the perfect balance of Fluffy Spuffy without the Sappy Spuffy. I loved all of the Angel bashing, but just one regret with this fic... not enough Riley bashing or were you saving that for the sequel I am hopeing you will write. She proved herself a good parent by figuring out what was needed for her child and doing it no matter the cost to herself. Angel , on the other hand, was clueless about the danger he presented to Connor and given his total disinterest in looking for a way to anchor his soul in canon , it is unlikerly he would have figured out a solution had he realized the danger. I hope for a sequel, maybe something with them doing dimension hopping. That would be fun to read I think. I am surprised that someone from W&H didn't try to show up and take them out. Then again, I was expecting that from Travers too! The old man threatening legal action made me laugh, how was he going to explain about the Council in court and what capacity Buffy played? He knew it was an empty threat. I would have thought that the Council would have sent out a group of mercenaries or something to make Buffy and Spike disappear. I can't wait to see what happens when they close the hellmouths, but does that mean that Buffy and Spike will then need to go to another dimension that will need them? He's certainly stood close enough to her before to, and he would definitely recognize the mark/feel of family. Though, most seem to go with the notion that any claim that is not renewed often fades away with time to being barely a blip, but who knows how long that takes, really....anyway Interesting justification by the Powers. It will save everyone a lot of hassle if they anchor Angel's soul, and keep him interacting with nice humans. That was one of his biggest issues, that he'd lived outside of society, for the most part, for so long, that he found it really hard to relate, and therefore keep in mind the appropriate level of compassion. Being a father should humble him some, if they can keep Connor safe. Poor Spike...he's really being sped forth on the mating train...good thing he's love's bitch, or he'd really be dragging his heels at not having much choice here. LOL All matters relating to Angel's soul will be addressed. I would assume that an unconscious claim that was not acknowledged, then abandoned then covered over by Drac's bite would not be an obvious claim. On the one hand, it's great that Buffy is sweeping in and righting all the wrongs... but on the other, this all seems too easy, too convenient. The PTBs never got this involved in human affairs, preferring to let us keep free will of choosing to do the right thing. They like to give nudges, but not all the answers. Buffy having all the answers now doesn't make sense from the PTB point of view, unless things were SO INCREDIBLY bad in the future, (as in the Senior Partner's side completely taking over and destroying the balance currently on Earth) that they felt they had no choice but to turn back time and start again. This isn't a criticism on your ideas/writing, only a pointing out of the PTBs standard M.O. for realism's sake. And I like Angel, even if he can be a butthead, so I'd like to not see him punished for things he hasn't done in this timeline yet. Feel free to hold him accountable for what he HAS done so far, though. That's totally fair. Actually I think most of that will be addressed in the next couple of chappies. And its a big part of the Story. As to Angel...why not just wait and see! I'm not a big Xander fan and Willow can be pretty nasty in a "dark Willow" mode but that was a pretty harsh punishment. Willow did change for the better in Season 7 and even Xander has his moments. We do not know how it went with them later but they were on the right path at the time BtVS ended. Apparently something happened during Angel season 5 that we don't know yet. PS. Please try to avoid everything concerning the Immortal. You're right, Willow did change for the better in season 7, but this is the start of season 6 where she had a pretty bad year coming. It took the shock of killing a human and almost dreoying the world before she did something about her control issues.
