| Oouch - Angel(us) is just evil - evil - I know he doesn't see it that way but it doesn't matter if it is Angel or Angelus - either one wants what he thinks is best for her and will manipulate her into doing whatever the heck that he wants. I truly hope that she recieves help soon, she cant deal with this on her own. |
| Yes, without lying at all, both Angel and Angelus are a master a lies. And both want to control everything and everyone around them - especially Buffy. I always thought that one of the reasons Spike is so superior is that he is honest with Buffy and himself. |

I really like how you are handleing Angelus - he is playing her and we forget that and then he does this. He is evil. | I don't really think he sees himself as evil. He wants what he wants, and does what he needs to make it happen. I also think that he plain just doesn't understand the distinction between good and evil. In his mind there are only things that are good for him or bad for him, but no absolutes. Therefore I think he doesn't really understand why Buffy has a problem with it once you hear his explanation. (Which BTW he slants his own way, because he doesn't want to tell Buffy the whole truth - that the gypsy was planning on re-souling him.) |

| Well, maybe he could have handled the murder better - as it not so flamboyantly and obvioulsy. But he is arrogant, and I guess he has some sense of honor in that he is not really sneaky in that way. I mean, he doesn't really lie, just lets people draw their own conclusions. As far as he is concerned, he had no choice but to stop her, she was going to re-curse him. |

With the twenty plus years that he and Spike spent together, they do have they're act down, no matter if they were with Darla and/or Dru. They really did a number on her, he got just what he wanted...she's thinking about it. Awesome chapter, girl! can't wait 'til the next update. |

| Yes, I agree it is about winning (and possessing) for Angelus. But no one said anything about her quitting slaying, school or leaving her home (at least not right away). IF she can have her life the way she wants it, and the wicked good sex too, why not? I don't think she sees Angelus the way we do - at least not yet. And yes, I agree that Angelus would not react well to finding out just how close she is getting to Spike, even if he did facilitate it (at least in the beginning). |

But I tell you I really loved this chapter. I feel so sorry for Buffy - at least she knows that this strange realtionship she has with Angelus is not her fault. I can't believe the bastard locked her into a room with Dru. That is just quite horrible - poor buffy left at the hands of an insane vampriess. Shakes head... I cannot wait until this ficcie is updated, it is quite intriguing and interesting. Very different premise then many I have read. *hugs* very well done sweetie! |
| I am trying to get it done as posted ASAP, since I know RL is about to get very busy, so probably updates every other day or so if I can manage it. I know exactly where this is going, but want to make sure all the intermediate steps continue to make sense and keep the character's consistent. FYI - I really am grateful for your many reviews. It never really occured to me to do the same when I find a WIP that I really like - I had always just read to the end and then posted. Your way is so much better! Just wanted to be sure you knew that you are appreciated! |

I mean, unlike its possibly being addictive (we know the bite is addictive), but nothing specific has ever been said about Slayer blood besides the healing and aphrodisiac properties, nor any mention of how it might affect a non-vampire. |

Damn I sure hope Buffy thinks about the difference in the two vampires and chooses wisely! Angelus is a bully and a jerk who obviously doesn't care for her a bit or he would never have given her to Spike. Spike didn't have to be tender, etc. and was. His words of consolation after were not what she should have expected either. Hope this was a wake up call for her.

You have pointed out something often missed....Buffy was a teenaged girl, vapid and silly as we all are at that age and Angel (or Angelus) was a "mature" man....the attraction made no sense from his standpoint, except for her innocence. Angelus AND Liam loved to despoil innocents....looks like Angel had a similar desire. No wonder that was his moment of perfect happiness!
Oh my......Spike as punishment.....please let me be naughty!!! Of course right now Spike may be more interested in wacking her around and maybe having a bit of Slayer blood than sex, but a girl COULD get lucky.

Thanks for the long and wonderful review. I agree, I think a lot of Buffy's appeal for Angel/Angelus is the idea of dispoiling innocence, as well as dominating her strength.
And yes, Spike is probably not disposed to be kind to Buffy now - she is the one who put him in the wheelchair- but on the other hand...well, we'll see. |

| I am trying for a little ambiguity, for Buffy's sake, I think she needs to see him that way. Doesn't mean that is's true. But there is some conflict w/i Angelus. I just don't buy that there is no crossover between Angel/Angelus while Spike remains nearly the same w or w/o soul. |

| Thanks, I wanted to call into question the early canon assumption that vampire = beast. This is only the beginning of Angelus' scheming nature - you have to admit, his plans usually work out better than Spike's because he is more deliberate and less impetuous. |

| At this point, Buffy is pretty young and gullible. She believes everything Giles tells her, and a lot of what Angelus says too. Of course the only one who only tells her the truth is Spike. |

I'm told some later developments were unexpected, but to me they seem pretty logical once you figure out what each character's motivation is. I hope you agree that it all hangs together well. | I tried to make Buffy very human and vulnerable; remember what she is going through at this point. Plus she is still very young and trusting, and Angelus is at least 200 years her senior. Glad you liked the suspense. |

| I hope you continue to find it believable - sometimes it was a little stretch. That's why it took me so long from conception to print - it needed to be believable and not err too far in either direction. A tender Angelus is unconvincing, but Buffy and evil Angelus seems just as far fetched. |
