That was great, and she's so much better off with this encounter, than if she had clung to the doomed Angel romance. Spike opened her eyes to so much. Way to go with giving Travers whatfor. |

| I loved this so much and I am so glad that there is more to come. I love how Buffy didn't waver in her plan and how she insisted that Spike go free. As much as she might not want Spike to leave she was right, she did need to figure out how she really felt about Angel and sort through the rest of her feelings. I am really looking forward to the next book. |

| I really love the honesty Buffy managed to have with Spike and with herself. I like that she realized that maybe she didn’t love Angel like she used to but perhaps for her it was more wanting what they used to have, and that she realized that she needed time to figure things out for herself as well as the fact that it wasn’t really fair towards Spike asking him to wait. I really enjoyed the honesty, sweetness, and tenderness displayed between Spike and Buffy in this chapter, thanks for the lovely update. |

Perfect mix of smut and relevant truths. And yeah, this really can't be ignored...it's forever changed things. And Buffy can realize now that the relationship she has with Angel is so incomplete. She can never have a moment like this with him...and he'll never be as open and honest with her. |

This was a hot but so touching chapter. I LOVE this so much!
I have a bad feeling about what the Council wankers will do to the vampire that didn't go 10 rounds with the Slayer for their little S&M game.
Love how Buffy KNOWS Spike's feelings are real and is aware that her great 4eva love might not really still be so 4eva! Lots of hope in that alone.

| This may be an unpopular view, but I think I liked it better before...cruder doesn't necessarily mean hotter...it's still a fantastic story, though. |
My intent wasn't to make it cruder, and that's hardly the only thing I've done to it. I've cleaned up the language considerably and attempted to strengthen the characterizations. In the process, it might have become a bit "cruder," but at the same time, their relationship is fairly crude at this point. This was/is the first time I've really written Buffy and Spike without palpable affection between them.
I understand what you're saying, though. Thanks for your input. I was prepared for some people to not like the rewrite. |
