I like this story, it's a good way to see it from a third persons perspective. Xander is also a good character to have realise who the "bad" guy in this relationship really is.

Ouch, that was painfull in so many ways. I love how you are portraying xanders realization of the love spike feels for buffy and how he deals with his own part in her destuction. Loved it.
