Great start! I was always a little disappointed that Joss gave Warren the schematics to Spike's chip and didn't go anywhere with it. Interesting choice to interrupt Spike's "soul searching" - irifkos ended up giving him a soul in the end anyway. I was alway ambivelent about Spike getting his soul. I kind of thought that the whole point was that he didn't need one. In fact, I don't think I've ever seen Spike further out of character than in "Seeing Red".
I'm agreed with you on the soul thing...don't think Spike will be getting one in this particular tale...and also on characterization in Seeing Red...but I'm using it for my purposes anyway hehe

Very interesting start. I'm curious to see where it's going. Especially the Xander stuff. Can't wait for more.
