Oh, geez, Angel and the Initiative?
Okay, I like your story over all, but you've made Spike a wimp. He'd never just not speak his mind around Buffy, or anyone else. Also, even though you make up for it in Buffy's thoughts here, what you had Buffy say in the last chapter was totally out of character for GirlfriendBuffy. She wouldn't question his motives, because that would mean questioning her own judgement, and she hates doing that since the Angelus incident. She'd push to find out why Spike refuses to work with Angel, instead. Buffy is insanely curious about other people and always wants to know "why". You insult her intelligence by having her completely bypass the history between Angel and Spike. |
Hoo boy, where do I begin? O.K, I thought these things were obvious, I guess I was wrong.
Have you seen Season Seven? That's what I based my Spike on. He's right smack in the center of a lot of changes and doesn't always know which he should be, the demon or the man. He's changed so much for Tara's sake (much like he did for both Dru AND Buffy on the show) that he's learned a whole set of coping mechanisms that don't always work for him.
But he's still developing, have patience with him.
As for why he didn't speak his mind to Buffy when she said those things: he said so himself a few paragraphs later. He didn't ever want her to know these aspects of his unlife.
Buffy sure as Hell questions her boyfriends motives. She did with Angel and she did with Riley. Buffy thought she KNEW why Spike didn't want to work with Angel. She assumed it was all jealously. Which she also assumes in the show. (See again Season Seven). She at no point during the series actually considers Spike and Angel's history. As I'm using elements of characters used by the shows writers, they cannot be neither OOC nor non-canon. All the characters are flawed. Every last one. That's what makes them human (or demon and human).
I'm sorry, but they make mistakes. Tara isn't wholey in the right for being so angry at Buffy. But Buffy wasn't in the right so many times on the show I've lost count. This is a huge issue and everyone is responding emotionally rather than logically.
That said, thank you for reading and reviewing, I really need to get back to the next chapter. If you really feel that way about the Angel/ Initiative arc, you probably might want to skip the rest. |

I loved the interaction b/n Spike and Tara and I am glad that Buffy is realizing that she really cares for Spike. Now she just has to prove it to him! Please update soon! |

| I dont like it how Tara is once again making Buffy the bad person here. How could she understand Spike's position when she doesn't know what has happened. Spike and Tara didn't tell her anything and it seems they are not planning to. It's just completely irrational to turn on her because of this. If Spike wants Buffy to trust him, he also needs to start trusting her. It goes both ways. |

I wonder what good a chip in Angels head would do? Not like he really eats humans or anything, unless they torture him enough that his soul makes no difference.
Poor Spike, just when things were going right for him selfish Angel goes an messes it up, (I've always wondered if the soul Angel has is his own or a new one because he was no better Human as he was Demon)
That's something else I never understood, how in the show they tried to portray Angel better than Spike, Spike might have been a nothing more than a seriel killer on a leash, but wasn't Angel the same? his soul is a curse so he could lose it too so makes him no different in my opinion.
OK So i'm ranting on a bit, I can't wait to see how Buffy makes is up to Spike now, gonna need to do some major groveling it sounds like.
