Ah - without being reciprocated, the claim isn't permanent. Still breakable. Spike is totally stuck to her, though. Will Giles clue her in on the whole deal, or will Spike get to explain first?
Wonderful chapter, but still bittersweet. Poor guy's been so emotionally abused that he can't believe she might return the feeling, eventually. And she's so close to returning that love. I hope she tells him soon. |

so..i am a bit confused...his claim didn't count, because she didn't respond, is that it? but she's under his protection, and if she rreturns the claim, then it counts?? please splainy  |
| Without Buffy accepting/reciprocating, the claim will eventually wear away. This is explained in more detail in the next chapter. Spike essentially performed two blood-rituals, only the second wasn't affirmed. |

Loved the interplay between Willow and Oz too. Funny how he so silently led Willow to figure things out on her own. As much as I loved Tara (and I really, really do).....Oz was so good with Willow.
Needless to say I love the story and the way it is being told by you.
