Angel - eeeew!
Good talk between the group. Spike really has the insight on everybody, if they'd given him a chance to tell it. I really like stories where he has a chance to right the wrongs Angelus caused.
Ah, very nice to see the monks coming before Glory is around. Advance notice, and all that. |

Kudos to Spike for the whole "Angelus changed you" speech and Giles being horrified of that damned ritual (which is nothing short of pre-meditated murder)

| The comment about the gift was in reference to Buffy's comment inthe previous chapter...when she complained that younger Buffy thought that Spike was a gift sent to her from the Powers and that she could 'get her own damn gift'. |

You know it's amazing how if you look at things a certain way you can blame every bad thng that happened on Angel(us). For example you could argue that the reason the first was such a major foe in season 7 was because Angelus had opened the gates of hell in season 2, and then the powers had further weakened the dimensional walls when they let Angel out from Hell. And when TPTB again stepped in stopping him from dusting himself, the first was major pissed and had a few years to spew on it and that is why when it had it's next chance it was so formidable and vindictive because he was allowed to spew and plan for the next three years his next step. So if he was never allowed a chance first time he would have been easier to defeat second time.
So Angel is still waiting in the library for Giles, why would Giles be in the library on Saturday anyway? Just because he has no life he can't expect no one else to have one either...lousy git. Would be brilliant if he had to wait there all day, or better still gtes caught be security and has to make a run for it in the morning sun, which would not only be amusing to read, also painful for Angelus .
Loved the comment from Joyce, poor Buffy didn't even realise she put claim on Spike.
Cool Protector of the Key, why do I get the feeling he's talking about Spike not Buffy? Probably too many fics where Spike is referred to as the Protector of the Key!!!!..lol Should be interesting to hear what he says.
right well loved the update, now i'm going to see if I can actually finish writing a reply for the other fic.

| Thank you for another fabulous update. Spike’s explanation of why Giles would put Buffy through the Cruciamentum makes a lot of sense, Angelus’s return did change everyone and it wasn’t necessarily for the better. I really like that Joyce was there when Spike kissed Buffy and that she spoke up at the perfect moment so that Buffy was not able to go into her usual diatribe and hurt Spike. I love that Angel is waiting for Giles at the library certain that he is going to be there at any moment, and the ending with Brother Luther showing up, I am really looking forward to where it goes. |
