Another thing to blame Angel for "Riley" the living Angel subsatute.
I wonder, if you traced Rileys family tree back, hmmmm.. Riley-Angel, Angel-Riley, Kissing cousins? How could 2 men be soo excesivly dence? It could most defanatly be genetic. |

Oh! I wasn't trying to give advice so much, as live in the psychology brain. I used to counsel people, so it's easy to just fall back into it, LOL. I was thinking about what Angel probably needs at the moment, not making a specific suggestion to your writing.
It was late when I read the chapter, so I guess I didn't think to make that clear. Carry on! |

Yay, Xander is all insightful!! Angel is having a hard time understanding how wrong he's been. But, if Penny thinks he can be saved we'll have wait and see.

| Thanks for the update, I loved Xander being all insightful. In that one paragraph he managed to really hit one of Angel's main problems right on the head. And I love the control that Spike showed, Penny is really helping everyone grow up so nicely. With luck she might even be able to help Angel a bit. And Riley, he really is clueless. I am looking forward to the final showdown with him in whatever form it takes. I am also really looking forward to the interaction between him and Xander, with all the positive changes Xander has made it is going to be interesting. |

| Good chapter. I am glad that Spike and Xander are friends in this story. It is all so tiring reading about Angel and Riley who never seem to learn anything. Hopefully, Angel will be up for it in the next chapter. Love the story. |

You really dislike Riley, don't you? I think everyone else here does.
You did an excellent job making Angel be pathetic in his own mind without any hint of pathos and without verging into parody.
You did the same with Riley when he was wishing for Maggie back to all but do his thinking for him. Now though, you're sliding into parody. I wonder if there's a way to recoup that, assuming you even want to. |
| Actually, no, I don't dislike Riley. From a psychological point of view, all behaviour displayed is in keeping with the personality of the character. Parody is an exageration of said character traits. |

OK so now it's Spike acting like a hyper active kid after a suger rush? Well it would only be fair if he is allowed to hit the bloke a few times for what he has done to Spike. Of course I was hoping moe a one on one with Riley wetting his pants and running away like a pansy that he is.
Well this fic proves something, those large foreheads definitely do not equal a high IQ as both the Captain Forehead and Cardboard have proven, they both as thick as a 4 by 4 if not thicker.
I can't believe Angel doesn't still get it and EVEN Xander does, that is saying something, the guy walked in on Spike/Buffy loving and didn't even put 2 and 2 together....naked press ups...really.

Good stuff here.
I think it's important to point out that Angel probably didn't understand some of those things that would have helped him be more human again. A simple one-on-one conversation, with compassion, with Angel once he's calmed a bit would probably be best for getting through to him. Blunt insults will only make him defensive. He needs the chance to ask for clarification of what he's not getting, and support in finding the right answer.
Love the Xander/Spike interaction, and Riley being so cluless to it. The poor boy was always in beyond his depths when it came to the supernatural. |
