| Gahhhhh, I am on the edge of my seat! I feel so bad for Spike, at this point I wish someone would stake Buffy......Great writing! |

| oh wow ok now that was unexpected. I have no idea what so ever where you are going with this story. I meen wow I have to keep reading just to find out where you take it. hmmmm so could dawn have something to do with it. |
| you'll just have to wait and see ;) |

| “Besides – it’s not like any of them would care to help you anyway.” - Doesn't that just sum up Spike's entire relationship with the gang. Buffy's getting really ugly - blaming Spike when she flips out. Chill. Love it |
thanx, glad you are enjoying the ride |

| Wow! What a very disturbing depiction of the mind of a domestic abuser. I'm hoping that this was not from some direct experience. |
| nothing as intense as this...but i will say there's a reason why most of my work centers around this sort of theme :-\...you write what you know ... |

| I am glad that Spike has another person to confide in. I don't think that Anya will have much time to help, since Xander is such an ass when it comes to Spike. I am glad that Dawn has the ability to placate (sp??) the beast that Buffy seems to become. Maybe that is a good thing, and a clue to how to keep her under control, cause you know Dawnie will not let anything happen to him. Great chapter, and, here comes the original part, can't wait for more! |
you may be right, anya will try, but dawn will soon be a devoted ally who will put his situation first... thanx for the review |

pretty much |
| bearfacedcheek | 05/08/2006 04:16 am |
| Ack! Dawn! Wow can't wait to see where this is going |
should be interesting to see |

That's a twist. It's high time for something to happen!
I got kinda tired with Buffy pushing Spike around like that and Spike being so helpless.
But still I like the story very much. ;) |
yeah, she's being quite the bitca...but the story's about to take a bit of a turn |

| More cruelty and another temporary reprieve. The poor guy should get himself a sleeping spell till it's all over! |
| not a bad idea all things considered |
| MarzBar | 05/08/2006 03:26 am |
| Hmmm. How will Buffy 'splain things to Dawn; like the terrible injuries on Spike; why Spike should stay in their house; why Spike is acting like a mouse instead of a master vampire? |
it won't be easy...next chapter should be interesting |

| Ew no... Dawn? *gags* |
but i love dawnie *pouts* ... lol |

Classic abuser mindset. It's look what you made me do instead of look what I did.
And good timing for Dawn to appear. Spike needs all the help he can get. |
yep, and he's about to get it...dawn's not as scared to tell buffy off as her friends are.. |
| fallen_angel | 05/08/2006 02:19 am |
whoa where did Dawn pop from! oh yah monks, right? Thought about getting Buffy that room in the mental ward yet?Update soon.
Oh and loved this part: *the prospect of the Slayer being locked up for domestic violence was somewhat entertaining.* |
thanx, glad you liked that bit |

As for the Scoobies not caring...I don't think that would last if they saw that Spike was showing up really damaged, and a serious reduction of his former personality. Neither Giles nor Willow are completely void of potential compassion, when faced with evidence. Willow was decent to Spike on that night he found out he couldn't bite, and Giles owes him his life from Dru and Angelus. They are not such horrid people that they wouldn't care when faced with atrocities.
You're story takes place before Giles proposed to Spike that he might look on the chip as a chance to change his ways, since that conversation took place after Spike found his crypt. Hence, Giles would still be feeling that way at this point in time...a consideration in mind. I'd rather see him as that multi-dimensional thinker, than - not. |
i agree with you mostly...i think at this point giles would probably just be beginning to consider the possibility of spike's reform...this is *early* season four, beginning just after thanksgiving, right after spike came to them, so he wouldn't be up to "looking for the good" just yet probably...but give him time
you're right, both willow and giles are compassionate people, but havent really seen a lot of evidence yet, and are still at the stage of "last time we saw this guy he tried to kill us" especially willow, who was attacked by spike very recently...
what i'm saying really is, give them a chance they'll come around |

Dawn?!!! A year early?!!! Whoa!!!! Why now? Did the Powers prod the Monks to do it now to get Buffy back on track? Because the timing is just too much to be coincidental. She shows up just when Buffy is losing more of herself and Joyce is out of town? And of course, Dawn will be on Spike's side...she practically worships him.
Quite a twist you've thrown in. I'm glad Spike remembered that Anya was still there for him. You know, he could make a vengeance wish...I'm sure there's a demon out there who wouldn't mind making the Slayer suffer. |
more on dawn will be revealed later...spike needed an ally badly, and you're right, the timing (just in time to save him) probably not coincidence ;) thanx for the great review |
