Oh, of course it's Spike. Who better to argue for humanoid rights? That's the word she was missing, there. Not "human", but "humanoid". Definitely in the future...well, if Spike is still a vamp, he's got to recognize she's a Slayer. Which means the mystical explanations could also be believed.
