That was beautiful ... Tara leading him back out. Nice.
Thanks, sweetie. I figured if he could be haunted by all the bad 'ghosts' he could have a visit from one that cared as well!

Oh how I would've loved to have seen this on-screen. This was great, hon!! Loved it.
Thanks, sweetie! I'm really glad you enjoyed it.

Thanks! Yes, if only...

Excellent little vignette. And I LOVE the banner. I always thought that Tara and Spike could have formed a great friendship - that would have gone a long way towards his 'redemption' and maybe kept her alive. Too bad Joss didn't think of it.

Wonderful Job.
Thank you! If you like Spike/Tara friendship I do have another short ficlet on my site http://www.axisoflove.org/Spike/downside.html

This was a great little excerpt. I really liked Tara's character. Didn't necessarily like her with Willow - but I loved the "softness" and understanding and peace her character brought. I can totally see her being Spike's friend and guide.

Good work.
Thank you! Yes, I liked Tara... she was a lovely character... so gentle and yet in many ways stronger than a lot of the characters in the show.

sweet read. tara always was special. thanks for the read.
Thank you. Yes Tara was special, it was such a shame that Joss felt the need to kill her off. *sigh*

This is really sweet and very beautiful, and I love the idea of Tara being there to help Spike.
Thank you. Yeah, it would have been nice for poor Spike to have someone on his side when the First was tormenting him.

Lovely fic. This would've made a fantatic season 7.
Thank you. It would have been so nice for poor Spike to know that his and Buffy's relationship was sanctioned by the Powers that be. ('cause of course WE all know it was *nods emphatically*)

lovely as always *happy sigh*
Thanks, sweetie!

Nice one. I always thought that it didn't make sense to blame Spike's insanity in S7 on the soul. After all, he managed to make it back to Sunnydale (and he had to cross an ocean for that), and he got over it way to fast once he was out of the basement. Blaming it entirely on the First makes much more sense. Pity it didn't go like this in the show, maybe with Spike being more like his old self S7 wouldn't have sucked as much lol.

Sweet story, liked it.
Oh no, I blame the First completely. Thanks for the review, my dear! And, yep... I think something as little as Spike having his old self-confidence would have made a big difference to the way events unfolded. And what better way to give him that back than to let him know that the Powers want him and Buffy together... that they are meant to be!?

that was so very sweet...i always thought tara could have been an awesome friend to spike when he was hurting so badly in season six...excellent little fic, brought tears to my eyes
Thank you. I'm glad you enjoyed it. Yes, I think they would have made wonderful friends. I have another Spike and Tara friendship ficlet on my site but it isn't particularly Spuffy (or at least Spuffy isn't the emphasis) so I haven't posted it here. http://www.axisoflove.org/Spike/downside.html

Very nice - so beautiful. Had she been around for Season 7, I think Tara would have been Spike's biggest advocate. This story is like a Frango mint, just a little bit, but oh so satisfying. (sorry - got carried away there...) hehehehe - nice work!
Thank you!

"This story is like a Frango mint, just a little bit, but oh so satisfying. (sorry - got carried away there...)"

LOL...that's okay... it went completely over my head, though... as I have never heard of a Frango mint.

I really liked this. I nice convergence of characters and it goes al long way toward explaning how Spike got out of the basement. Thanks - love the banner- beautiful! Great title; very evocative.
Thank you! Yes the banner is lovely. And unfotunately I can't take any credit for the fabulous title... it is taken from the lyrics to a Richie Sambora song Harlem Rain.

Very cool! I love whenever a Spike/Tara friendship, or at least comeraderie, is explored. She's the type to relate well to William.

Nice work.
Thank you. I like Spike Tara friendship too... I think they would hve made great friends and like Anya they were both always kept on the fringes of the scoobs. I do have another short Spike and Tara friendship ficlet on my site. http://www.axisoflove.org/Spike/downside.html

I'd like to think he had such comfort from time to time in that basement.....no one else gave him any! Lovely fic.

Kathleen
Thanks, Kathleen. I'm so glad you liked it. Yeah, it is nice to think he had someone on his side and Tara was such a caring soul...

Interesting start and excellent banner.
It is a lovely banner! Thank you I'm glad you enjoyed it... it is just a little vignette so that's all... although one day I may revisit it and see what subtle differences Spike's knowledge that The Powers meant for him to be with Buffy might have made.
