Haven't read your reviews, but I gather you got some feedback about the claim - it's an old peeve of mine and we've addressed at RRU as well as other places. Your story, your version of a claim. It's simple. Glad you're sticking to your guns.

Lovely chapter in this really enjoyable story. Looking forward to Spike's day after viewpoint.
I think your take on claims is correct. There is no "right" way with most vampire mythology (although I go for canon with the Buffyverse). Even claims can be wanked into the canon but not the details so they are fair game. Your thought that Spike would not know just what the demon did makes perfect sense....delicious too! Can't wait for them both to make discoveries and can't wait for Buffy to claim him too (hope so anyway).

I like the way you're approaching the claim here, specifically the lack of knowledge about it. In pretty much every claiming story I've read, someone makes with the exposition pretty much right away. Often, they seem to spontaneously know everything about claims. Now, when it's Spike with the knowledge, it makes some sense, but it's just as easy to believe he would be pretty much in the dark on the subject, and to my thinking, much more fun. This way you can explore the claim, rather than just reveal it. That's far more interesting to me.
This chapter was great too. I especially liked the ending. |

lol...that was incredibly hot, and the humor in the end was very well done...i actually laughed out loud..very good update, good way of reconciling buffy's feelings about the incident...
and i agree with you about claims...my claims in my stories aren't exactly typical, i don't think...i think it's pretty much fair game to do whatever you want with it, and i can't wait to see what that means! |
