Willow stretched and walked out of her room. As she walked down the hallway, she opened Buffy's door. She almost gasped when she saw Spike and Buffy curled up together on the bed. They were covered by a sheet, which did not leave much to the imagination. She quietly closed the door and walked downstairs.

"Finally," she thought. They had been sneaking looks at each other ever since Buffy came back. Buffy had been talking about him almost non-stop. "When Dawn finds out she's going to jump for joy," Willow thought as she began to make herself some pancakes.

Spike woke up first. He propped himself up on his elbow and simply gazed at Buffy. Not even in his wildest dreams did he imagine that she might actually care about him. She turned over in her sleep and snuggled closer to him. He glanced at the clock and did a double-take. It was 5 PM! Dawn was coming home in an hour and expecting dinner. He leaned over and gently kissed Buffy.

"Wake up, love," he said softly.

"Don't wanna," she said. Snuggling closer to him.

"Dawn will be home in an hour," he said. That got her up.

"What time is it?" she exclaimed. She groaned when she saw the clock. She got up and began pulling clothes out of her closet. He watched her intently, thoroughly enjoying the view that her naked ass presented. She put on an outfit that was better suited to the Bronze dance floor than to cooking dinner.

"Not that I'm complaining , love, but aren't you a bit dressed up for just cooking dinner?" Spike asked.

"We're going to the Bronze tonight and I'm going to tell the Scoobies that I'm dating you," she announced.

"You were serious?!" he exclaimed.

"You thought I wasn't?" she asked with a pout.

"Sorry...I thought.."

"What? That I cared about you, but still wanted to keep you my 'dirty little secret?!!" she asked sharply.

He looked up into her eyes and said, "I'm sorry, Buffy, I promise never to assume something like that again." There was such love and sincerity in his eyes that she couldn't stay mad at him for long.

"I forgive you. Now get dressed so that we can go tell Dawn the good news when she gets home. She's been trying to get us to date for, like, forever." Buffy began to walk out of the room.

Where are you going?" he asked.

She grinned. "I'm making sure that all the shades are closed, so I don't end up dating a big pile of dust."

Buffy had finished closing all the shades in the downstairs and was grabbing something to eat, when Willow cornered her.

"So...you and Spike, huh?"

"Yeah," Buffy said a little uncertainly, "We're dating."

"Does he make you happy?" Willow inquired.

"Yes, he makes me feel happier than I've felt since I was called," Buffy said with a faraway look in her eye.

Willow grinned. "If he makes you so happy that you have that look on your face, then I support you 100%. There's one condition, though...we have to have a girl's day out some time this week and you have to tell me all about it."

"It's a deal," Buffy said with a giggle. Some of the weight that had been pressing down on her was released. No matter what happened, Willow was her best friend and if Willow hadn't approved...well...it would have made things much harder for her.

"Hey, Will," Buffy said, "Would you help me call the rest of the Scoobies and tell them to meet us at the Bronze tonight?"

"Sure," Willow said grinning.

Suddenly, Buffy said nervously, "Do you think Xander will be okay with it? He's never really liked Spike or demons."

Willow turned around and studied Buffy's anxious face. "He should be," she said slowly, "He's your friend. Even if he isn't fine with it, you're an adult and you're entitled to make your own decisions."

Buffy felt like another piece of the gigantic weight she had been carrying was lifted.

"Thanks, Willow. I really needed to hear that."

"What are friends for?" she asked with a smile.

Buffy was standing in the living room when Spike came downstairs. He wrapped his arms around her and greeted her with a kiss. Just then the door squeaked open.

"Oh...my...God..." Dawn said. That was the last coherent thing she said for fifteen minutes. The rest was just squealing and jumping up and down. Finally, she said, "You're really dating him?"

"Yup," Buffy said.

"YESSSSS!" Dawn said.

"I'm glad you're so happy about it, 'bit," Spike said. There was a big happy smile pasted on his face. Buffy glanced at him and realized that she had never truly seen him smile. He looked so happy. She immediately resolved to make him do it more often.

"So...how long until the sun sets?" Buffy asked.

As they sat at their table in the Bronze, Buffy began smoothing her incredibly short skirt and fidgeting. Spike leaned over and put his arm around her. "Relax," he muttered. His cold breathe tickled her ear. "Why don't we go dance?" he suggested.

"That sounds like a great idea."

~*~

Willow and Dawn grinned as they watched Spike and Buffy dancing. They were both acting like teenagers.

"It's nice to see Buffy happy again," Willow said.

"Your telling me, up until a few weeks ago, I thought Angel was in danger of losing the title 'King of Brooding'," Dawn said with a giggle.

"What's so funny? Is there a funny thing?" Xander asked. Anya and Tara were close on his tail.

The song finally ended. Buffy and Spike looked over and saw the others at the table. They walked over, hand-in-hand.

"So what are we here to talk about?" Anya asked.

Buffy took a deep breathe. "I'm dating Spike. "

"That's g..great, Buffy,"Tara said with a shy smile.

Xander walked up to Spike. "If you hurt her, I'll stake your undead ass," he said, "Beyond that, Congrats, deadboy jr., As long as she's happy, I'm happy."

Spike smiled. "It's a deal," he said.

"You're okay with it?" Buffy asked, stunned.

"Yeah," Xander said, "Why wouldn't I be? Spike helped us the whole time you were gone. He saved my life more than once."

Buffy was so relieved, that she could have cried. Spike casually threw an arm around her shoulders. "So anyone up for dancing?" Spike said, "Drinks are on me."
