| Carefully Everywhere Descending - Mostly Harmless by Dark Eyed Seer (9 Reviews) | | abc + + + | | | | Will whimpered in his sleep and Spike squeezed him tight. He let out a breath when his brother quieted. Will dreamed enough for the both of them.
Spike had always insisted he didn't dream. Will had denounced this impossible. Everyone dreamed. They may not remember it, but they did. Will dreamed every night. They were usually bad ones.
He felt Will's face bury itself in the crease between his neck and shoulder. Spike turned his head slightly and kissed him on the temple.
He sighed softly and his body relaxed.
Spike was proud of his brother tonight. Even more so than usual. Will had made serious efforts at communicating with Joyce and Buffy. He hadn't actually spoken, but he had managed to nod politely and make some eye contact.
Definitely progress.

Buffy stared up at the ceiling and tried not to think about the four inches of drywall and paint that separated her from the room next door.
What were they doing? What did they talk about?
Joyce had cornered her in the kitchen after dinner and demanded to know what sort of people had raised the twins. They didn't have proper clothes. Then her mother had mentioned underwear and Buffy tried desperately to tune it out.
Buffy had tried to explain about Will but her mother cut her off, “Oh, I know he's terribly shy. The poor little thing, everything must be so hard. I'm glad his brother takes such good care of him.”
Shifting over to face the wall, Buffy tried to count sheep. But around number twelve the sheep turned into beautiful demon-fairy boys and she groaned in frustration.

“Spike. Spiiii-ke. SPIKE!” Will whispered loudly.
Spike growled and turned away.
“Spike, wake up. It's Saturday.”
“I don't bloody care if it's Dooms Day! I'm sleeping.”
“No you aren't. You're awake now. You never go back to sleep when you've been awake.” Will responded smugly, only an inch from Spike's ear.
Spike ignored him and stubbornly tried to belie his words.
“It's Saturday. I want to go to the library and get a card.” Will crept his fingers up his brother's bare back.
Spike opened one eye blearily and glanced at the bleeding numbers on the clock radio, “It's half fucking seven. No library on the planet opens at seven thirty in the morning.”
“Well, we can get ready to go.” Will bounced a bit, the idea of having new friends, in the form of trusty books, exciting him.
“Get ready? What the bleeding fuck do you need to do, practice the Dewey Decimal System?”
“We could take a shower.” Will suggested, grinning and sneaking one hand over Spike's ribcage and down, down, down. Jackpot.
Spike jumped a bit, “Oh, that kind of ready.”
“I think they're all still asleep.” Will whispered, kissing the soft skin behind Spike's ear and nibbling on the lobe.
Spike twisted and turned over kissing him full on the mouth, tongue teasing and giving and taking away and giving again.
Will was hard, erection pressing against his brother's stomach. It was Spike's turn to sneak a hand down and cup the other boy's balls giving them an affectionate rub.
Will moaned into his mouth, “Lube?”
Spike nibbled his brother's lower lip, “In the shaving kit.”
Will pulled away to fetch the necessary tube and Spike slipped a pillow beneath his own hips. He froze then, “We should get a towel. Washing the sheets after sleeping on them once looks kind of suspicious.”
Will blinked at him in horror, “God, yeah. Buffy might think I still… you know.”
“Yeah, her thinking you wet the bed is way worse then her thinking we're having sex.”
“When you put it that way.” Will rolled his eyes fetched the towel and jumped back on the bed, cock bouncing cheerfully.
Spike chuckled, but it turned into a gasp when Will slid a cold, lubed finger between his cheeks, “Warm it up first you evil bugger.”
Will laughed and ran a hand thick with KY Jelly along his erection, “Are you ready?” he asked then, serious this time.
“Yes, I'm ready. Hurry up and fuck me.” Spike glanced over his shoulder with his scarred eyebrow raised. He choked in surprise when actually Will obeyed orders.
They both groaned, finally joined. Will sprawled over Spike's back kissing his neck and whispering love words. His hips moved instinctively in an ancient rhythm.
Spike was as he usually was, 'I-love-yous' interspersed with nonsensical cursing.
When they both came within seconds of each other, Will collapsed and wiped away the usual tears that accompanied lovemaking. Whenever Spike asked why he cried, Will could never come up with an answer.
The closest he could ever manage when his happiness and the intensity of it all. He knew Spike worried it was guilt. But it was not. It never had been.
What they did was considered a filthy, inhuman thing. A taboo subject never spoken of.
Incest.
But Will had always focused on the word 'inhuman'. They weren't. Why should they subscribe to the rules of a race they so clearly did not belong to?
Humanity had rejected them, in Will's opinion; right after it had created them. Therefore, what they did alone together to bring each other pleasure was none of humanity's business.

It had begun when they were about thirteen. Jamie, still trying to get the name Spike to stick had come home in a dizzy lather.
He had kissed a girl.
Will didn't think this was such a big deal. Spike had kissed several girls.
But Spike explained this was different. Their mouths had been open. There had been tongue.
Will blinked at him, sitting across on the bed, he put down 'The Two Towers' and leaned closer, “What was it like?”
Spike grinned, “She sort of licked my lips first and then went to town. I've never been that bloody hard. It's like nothing else.”
Will wasn't quite sure how he felt about this. Some girl had touched his brother. She had been inside his mouth. At the same time he was intensely curious. Earlier that year they had experienced their first erections. Spike found them funny and exciting but Will just thought they were embarrassing.
He knew Spike masturbated, his brother told him as much, but Will avoided the whole thing.
“See, her mouth was different and having a different tongue in your mouth is really weird. Good! Amazing! But weird.” Spike continued.
Will blinked at him. He would never know this feeling. He would never kiss a girl. Girls terrified him.
Spike leaned in and pressed his lips to his brother's. Will jumped in surprise, “What are you doing?”
“I'm showing you what it's bloody like.” Spike kissed him again and this time there was no surprise and a bolt of something hot and white shot straight to Will's groin.
Spike nudged his lips apart and entwined their tongues. Will lost all sense of time and reality. Everything in the world became focused on this feeling.
When he finally became aware of the world again, he was on top of Spike, pinning him aggressively to the bed. He could get enough contact. He realized their erections, separated by two thin layers of cotton her rubbing together.
It felt so good Will didn't think he could stand it.
A flash of something and then something else. His hips were quivering and he couldn't breathe, “What was that?” He asked Spike shakily.
“That,” Spike kissed him again, this time softer and with less hunger, “Was what coming is like.”
Will realized his pants were sticky and damp. He felt completely boneless. He had never been this relaxed.
Spike let him lay there on top of him for more then an hour.

It has escalated from there as these things do. Nightly they kissed and rode each other until they had the bright idea to do it without clothes. Then Spike had given him a hand job and they touch a lot more.
Two hours after Bridget Duthie had given Spike his first blowjob; Spike had given Will one as well.
They only graduated to coupling a year before. Will had made Spike promise he would never do this with someone he didn't love as a way of keeping his brother all to himself.
Spike had always kept this promise, even though he had had many opportunities for sex with many eager girls. And a few eager boys as well.

“Where are you two off to at such an early hour?” Joyce asked, surprised to see them awake, showered and dressed, “You do know it's Saturday, don't you?”
Spike gave her a trademark smirk, “We know, pet, we're just off to the library. We need to get those cards and all.”
“Oh, Buffy hasn't gotten one yet either. She really needs to read more. Let me wake her up and she can go with you. You need to eat some breakfast before you go anyway.”
Will froze next to Spike as Joyce determinedly climbed the stairs. He had been looking forward to exploring a new library, finding new books, having Spike all to himself…
But from the thumps and conversation upstairs it sounded as though Joyce was successful. Will sighed.
Buffy made him nervous.

Buffy walked next to Spike, Will was on his other side, silent as usual. She had spent time constructing her outfit. The skirt was short enough to be alluring but not short enough for skankiness. The top was one size too small and the bra was push-up.
She looked hot. She knew it. They had to know it.
Spike was chattering away about music to fill in the silence. Buffy got the impression he was used to doing that. He never shut up so people didn't notice his brother never talked.
He was telling her all his favourite Dead Kennedys songs. Buffy mentioned that she didn't know any of them. She didn't mention that she had never heard of the band period.
Spike offered to lend her his CDs and she accepted, happy to at least have peace-making gesture on his part. Even if it meant having to listen to weird punk music.

When they got to the library, she followed them into the science fiction/fantasy section and tried not to look too bored. Will moved through the stacks with a familiar assuredness that Buffy envied. He had an armful of books before Buffy even glanced at three dust jackets.
Spike appeared next to her and handed her a small stack of paperbacks, “Have you read these?”
Buffy could safely say 'no' without examining them too closely.
“Bloke named Douglas Adams wrote them, they're brilliant.” Spike fingered the spines lovingly and Buffy smiled. They didn't look too hefty and daunting.
“I'll give them a try.”
Spike rewarded her with a grin and Buffy felt her cheeks redden. 'Oh, God, what am I, fourteen?' She thought, rolling her eyes at her own dorkiness.
Will was standing next to them out of nowhere, waiting quietly. Buffy blinked at him. He was so weird.

Will knew his brother read at least a third of the books he did to please Will himself. Spike didn't mind fantasy but most science fiction just bored him.
But Spike had suffered through series after series just to give Will someone to talk to about them.
Spike had a problem with reading and schoolwork.
He wasn't stupid. So many people assumed he was because his grades were always bad.
He was actually very intelligent. His I.Q was the same as Will's and it was very high.
He just couldn't pay attention. He had a hard time keeping still for any serious length of time.
Will suspected ADHD but no one would ever listen to him. Spike was not human; therefore Spike could not have a human disorder.
Will didn't think grades mattered all that much anyway. It wasn't like they would be going to collage or off having any other career. Killing monsters was what they had been created for.
But if a book caught Spike's attention, like 'The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy' had, Spike became its biggest fan. He could read a book like that once and repeat it word for word. Will couldn't even do that.
Will wished just once one of the Watchers or tutors would hand Spike a book he enjoyed like the Myth Adventures by Robert Aspirin and test him on that. He'd make their heads spin.
But Watchers did not consider those books. They called them trash and tried to shove his brother's head into books even Will found dull. Well, they wouldn't be doing that anymore, Will thought with a smile. We quit.
