A big thanks to my beta MarzBar!

~*~ Season 6 ~*~

“So…you don’t have the text?” Giles said, “You’re sure? We really need it. We have a bit of a situation here. I understand. Do you think that there is any way you could get it from the council? Thank you. I would really appreciate it. Bye.” Giles sighed and hung up.

“You could order it,” Anya suggested.

“How much is it?”

“Six million dollars,” she calmly replied.

He gulped. “I think I’ll wait and see if Wesley can get it from his father,” Giles said.

“I don’t mind staying here form a little while,” Buffy said.

“Oh…oh! Am I the big sister now?” Dawn said.

“No! I’m still older than you,” Buffy snapped.

“Awww! No fair,” Dawn said, pouting. Spike grinned at her and then caught himself and frowned.

“So, where do I get to stay, pet,” Spike said. He smirked at her. “From what I hear, you don’t have an extra bedroom. Maybe, I could bunk in your room. For the sake of saving space, of course.”

Her mouth went dry for a moment as she remembered the searing kiss they had shared. “You’re a pig, Spike,” she said automatically, “I’ll set up a cot in the basement for you.” Because she turned to talk to Willow, she missed the crestfallen expression on Spike’s face. “So you and Tara live in the house, too?”

“I’m moving out until Willow learns to control her magic. She completely wiped our memories today. I can’t trust her anymore,” Tara said sadly. Buffy’s mouth hung open as she stared at the two of them. Willow looked like she was about to burst into tears.

“I have a guest room,” Giles said kindly, “You can stay there.”

“T…thanks, Giles, but I don’t want to be any trouble,” she stuttered.

“Nonsense, I’d love to have you there,” he said.

“Thanks.” They turned when they heard the tinkle of the shop bell. Willow had run outside.

“Sorry that you had to see all that, mini Buffster,” Xander said., “We’ll have a party for you at the Brronze.”

“I can’t wait!” Dawn said.

‘Neither can I,’ thought Spike, ‘I love watching her dance. Whether she means it or not, she’s sex in motion.’

‘I wonder what it would be like dancing with Spike. He’s sex personified. Bad Buffy, don’t think about the sexy vampire. Think about anything but the sexy vampire. I am so screwed.’

“Do I have a boyfriend in this time?”

“No, the spot is currently vacant,” Xander said.

‘Yes!’ Spike thought, ‘Not that I want to be her sodding lap dog, like Peaches. I want her as my mate. Tonight is the perfect opportunity. She already wants me. That’s half the battle.’ His inner William agreed completely but told him not to push her. Buffy was the only thing Spike and William agreed upon.

“Giles, are you still moving to England?” Anya asked.

“You’re leaving me, too?” Buffy squeaked. Her eyes filled with unshed tears.

A soft, loving look came over his face and he said softly, “You need me. I won’t leave.” She vaulted forward and threw her arms around him.

“Never leave,” she mumbled into his chest, “You’re my father in everything, but blood. I need you.”

He patted her back and said, “I won’t leave. I promise.” This younger version of Buffy brought out the fatherly side of him. She was and always had been like a daughter to him.

“I’ll go home and get ready for the Bronzing we planned. See you guys later,” Buffy said, detaching herself from Giles. She and Spike walked out the door, with Dawn trailing behind them.

“The house looks the same,” Buffy said quietly.

“We had to replace a few lamps that you broke, but other than that, everything is the same,” Dawn said.

“No it’s not. Mom’s gone,” Buffy said softly. The only one who heard was Spike. He longed to pull her into his arms and kiss her until she was smiling again, but he knew she wouldn’t allow it.

“Come on, Buffy. Let’s go get ready.”

“I’ll go talk to Willow,” Buffy said. She ran up the stairs.

She opened the door to her mom’s room. Willow lay sniffling on the bed. Buffy sat down next to her.

“Do you want to talk about it?” Buffy asked.

“Not now,” Willow said sitting up, “Maybe later.”

“Okay, I just wanted you to know that I’m still your best friend and you can talk to me about anything.”

Willow gave her a watery smile and said, “Thanks.”

Spike’s mouth hung open as he watched Buffy dance. She was beautiful. “You should wipe the drool off your chin,” Dawn advised.

“What?” he said. She shook her head and grinned. Whether this Spike knew it or not, Dawn could tell he was head over heels for Buffy.

“You know,” she drawled, “she’s dancing all alone.”

“Well then, I’ll have to go remedy that situation,” he said. He leapt up. Several young boys were converging towards her. Spike got there first. He slipped his arms around the Slayer and growled in her ear, “May I have this dance?” He ground his erection into her. Her eyes went wide and she nodded rapidly. He smirked and ground against her again. Buffy felt moisture beginning to pool in her panties.

‘Hot sexy vampire…need a new boyfriend…bingo…we have a winner,’ Buffy thought. Suddenly the song changed. It was a slow song. She slipped her arms around his waist and tentatively rested her head against his chest. He wrapped his arms around her. He was surprised, but delighted. Both his inner William and his inner Spike were jumping for joy.

Dawn and Willow watched them dance. “I think she likes him,” Willow commented.

“I think he likes her,” Dawn said.

“She deserves some happiness. What do you think? Should we meddle?”

“Definitely.”

“Didn’t Buffy and Spike always call their fighting, ‘dancing’?”

“Yeah, they did.”

“I guess they’re doing a different kind of dancing now,” Willow said with a small smile.
