MINI Spikefeed - Never Leave Me

HOLY MOTHER OF PEARL.
And UH. GUH.

Tick one more item off the list.
Blood, shirtless Spike, torture, how can you not like that...? <G>
But DAMMIT TO HELL! Jonathan is gone, and for NOTHING.

Okay, let me begin at the beginning.

Which is now kinda fuzzy, after that last scene with Spike. GUH.

Q: Sorry Dori. Quick question. Score out of 10?

11.
Shirtless, bleeding Spike is the extra point. <G>
Hey. Blood. It's a Thing. <G>

Andrew can't touch Warren; his hand goes right through.
The hooded minions.
Okay, she's tying him to the chair in her bedroom.
He tells her, tie it tighter. If he gets loose, someone is going to die.
Later, he's having a rough time with the withdrawal. He's twitching. She asks what she can do.
He tells her maybe she'd better leave. And then he vamps out and strains against the ropes.
But he doesn't break them, or the chair.
She sends Willow for pig's blood. She runs into Andrew--literally--at the butcher shop. He's buying blood to try to open the seal. Because Jonathan's blood didn't work. Wasn't enough, or something.

Willow brings Andrew back to Buffy's house.
Xander and Anya are playing good cop/bad cop. Buffy is with Spike, trying to find out what's going on, but he doesn't remember clearly.
Flashes, he says.

Q: Oh heck. Anyone else having Acathla flashbacks about who's blood opening the portal and who's blood has to close it

Yep, dammit all to hell.

He hears Andrew in the other room as Anya is whaling the tar out of him.
Spike vamps out, breaks the chair, pulls Andrew through the wall.

Q: Uh...is Anya out of control or something?

She's being the bad cop. <G>
But I think she's having a leeeeetle too much fun with it.

Q: Is it Spike doing this or has be been "triggered"?

Triggered.

Buffy goes to check on Andrew, because she hears the screams.
Morphy!Spike is waiting as she goes out, and starts talking to Spike.
When Buffy comes back, she hears Spike talking and singing through the door, but when she comes in, he's perfectly calm.
She knows something's wrong, though, and watches him warily as she goes over to the dresser to get the bag of blood. And while her back's turned for a second, he breaks the chair and snatches Andrew.
Buffy pulls him off Andrew, throws him into the wall.

We don't see any conversation over the blood.
We see her holding a blood bag for him, and then starting to get more blood, but no conversation.
When Spike sits up, he realizes what he's done, and is horrified. Buffy kicks him unconscious.
Next thing we see, he's shackled hand and foot in the basement.
He's still unconscious. Buffy comes down with a basin of water and a towel.

Q: Wait, she kicks him AFTER he knows what he's done?

Yeah. She's not taking any chances, and they have to get him tied up again.

She starts to clean the blood off his face.
He wakes up, wants to know why she didn't kill him, before.

Q: tenderly?

yes! <VVVBG>

He's very...focused, determined, grim. He's frightened, but deep underneath.
He's determined to convince her to stake him.

Q: Asks why she didn't kill him before?

Yeah. He says he knows why. She needs men who hurt her.

Q: Before today or up in the bedroom?

Before the soul.
She needs the hate.
He understands more about self-hate now that he's got the soul. He says he never really hated himself before, not like he does now.
She denies this, of course. She says she doesn't hate like that, not him, not herself. (and I'm yelling at the screen, "LIAR!") And then she says, "not any more."
Holy GOD. I can't believe she admitted that. Even that.

Q: and there's expression?

yes. She's very serious.

Okay, where was I.

Anyway. He tries to make her see that he's the same guy now as he was before the soul.
He asks her if she has any idea what he's capable of.
She says yeah, but he scoffs. She doesn't really know him.
Does she know how much blood to drink from a girl so that she'll still cry when...
He doesn't say when -what-.
Does she want to know what he's done o girls Dawn's age?
He's really pushing, determined to make her see how dangerous he can be. He tells her she got off easy with him.

Q: This is to get her to kill him, right?

yep.

Q: Is he talking about rape?

Yeah, I was thinking rape was what he meant, too. But they very carefully didn't specify.

She's not happy with the conversation, but I think she knows what he's trying to do and she's not having any.
He keeps telling her he's the same guy, and she is very vehement that he's NOT. Can we say Angel issues...? I thought we could.

Q: Vehement... like with emotion and everything?

yeah. <G>
She tells him that the reason he's not dead is because she saw him change. He fought the evil inside him, he suffered to make himself a better man.
And he can be.
"I believe in you, Spike," she says.

<Can we just take a moment?>

Q: Is that the quote?

That's the quote.

Q: What is her expression?

Well, we really don't have time to see much of her expression, at that point. She' serious, though.
she's earnest, sincere, even...kind. Gentle, but firm.
Oh, SHIT. He is doomed…

and at that point, the Hooded Minions burst in, all over the house.
Big fight with the Hooded Minions. Who all have something funky going on with their eyes.
They're sewn shut, or fused shut, or some damned thing.
So, HA. It is the First Evil.

< It's to keep out the black oil... oh wait. Different show <EG> --- much hilarity. It was late or early depending on where chatters were...>

They whup the minions.
Everybody's okay. Xander looks around. "I thought there were more of them," he says.
"Spike!" Buffy dashes down to the basement, but the manacles are hanging empty.

And damn. Principal Hottie is burying a very not-decomposed Jonathan.
Principal H looked controlled, to me.

So, back in the basement, Morphy!Spike (in the leather duster), is talking to Spike, who is being tied to a big X-frame cross.
So Morphy!Spike is taunting Spike, and as he does, the minions are cutting symbols into Spike's chest.

Q: This sounds horrid. But -as you said Dori - potentially pretty :-)

It was SOOOO pretty...

Well, we don't actually see the knife cutting onscreen, just his reactions.

And then Morphy changes into Buffy.

Q: What is Morphy saying to Spike?

I can't remember exactly. I was, er, a little distracted... <G>

The minions haul Spike up into the air, so that he's hanging over the big seal. His blood is pouring down on it.

Q: How extreme is all this? Are they going for shock value?

I didn't think so.
We see the symbols cut into his flesh, and the blood dripping.
But I'm probably not the best judge of extreme where blood is concerned.

Q: A drop or a stream?

Steady stream.
But the cuts didn't look as bad as his reaction led me to expect.

<St. Andrew was bound to the X-shaped cross rather than nailed - are they going for a deliberate parallel? >

Not upside down. The thing he's tied to--not precisely a cross, there were too many pieces--is suspended over the seal so that he's facing down, looking at the seal.
Yeah, Morphy says it was going to be Andrew.
And then the seal opens up and the Real Vampire comes out.
It's very ugly, not as human looking as the Master.
