Slayercon 2005 Cancelled (Adelaide, Australia)

The event has been 'postponed' and the organiser has run off with thousands and thousands of dollors of fans money. He hasnt been heard from in a month, even by people who were closely associated with the organisation of the convention, and ticketholders havent been contacted. The only way to know its been 'postponed' is to go to the actual website.
Vendors who were booked for the convention have been contacted and they were told it was cancelled, not postponed so we can only assume that the 'postponement' was a ruse to get people to give him a bit longer before they started kicking up a stink.
I'm a ticketholder, and I'm in contact with many others. We have filed a letter of demand and are in the process of getting all ticketholders to file a complaint with the Department of Fair Trading. The next step is making a police report regarding Fraud charges. Just thought I'd let you know, maybe you could put something up on the site to let people know. Its been over for almost a month and we are still hearing from people almost every day who have only just found out, so anything you could do to spread awareness of the disaster its become would be greatly appreciated!

Is the Buffy and Angel Cast Willing to do more spin-offs?
The best "SOS Campaign" to bring back the Whedonverse would not have a major influence when the actors were not interested in doing more stuff for Whedon.
Kirstin checked back with reps for the Buffy and Angel castmembers, and they told her that though their clients are working on various projects (Alyson Hannigan on Veronica Mars; David Boreanaz on three movies; Amy Acker on a pilot called The Unit with Scott Foley), they would love to work with Joss again.

WHEDON & CASSADAY EXTEND RUN ON "ASTONISHING X-MEN"

Joss Whedon announced at WonderCon in San Francisco that he and artist John Cassaday would be continuing their run on Marvel's premiere mutant title for an additional 12 issues, making it 24 issues total for the duo. The duo will finish up their current run on the title, followed by a short break, and then get back to the title with an additional twelve issues. No word on whether the title would simply take a break or if fill-in creative teams would participate.
