Spike stakes out the Summers home, carrying around chocolate gift boxes and trying to prove how much he's changed. While listening to one of Spike's stories Dawn figures it out: Spike's tortured relationship with Buffy had moved into the love/hate category. Appalled (and dare we say a bit grossed out) Buffy confronts Spike and the vamp finally confesses his love for her. Bufyf denies him as only a scorned Slayer can and you know that involved verbal and physical kicks to the face. The rejection sends Spike straight into the arms of Drusilla, who just happened to be visiting Sunnydale after a tasty train ride. Dru's game plan was to bring her beloved back to his pre-brainchip ways. Can a vamp hooked on "Passions" return to pillaging the masses? You might think so, but seeking the Slayer's love in return ended up being more important. One fantastic fight later — involving Drusilla, Buffy, Spike and, remember Harmony? — Dru abandons Spike once again. The lovesick boy runs after Buffy, only to have the door shut in his face. So much for a happy Valentine's Day. |
