"I forgot something."

"What?" Angel asked, setting down his newspaper so he could look at his wife.

Buffy shrugged and looked over at him two seats over in the airplane bound for Maui, their son sleeping peacefully in the seat between them, "I don't know what… I just have this feeling that I forgot *something*."

Angel smiled and reached over to gently squeeze her hand, "You're probably being paranoid."

"Maybe… but I really doubt it."

"Well, don't worry… if you forgot something, we can just buy it in Hawaii," he assured her, "Now let's relax… we have a long flight ahead of us and who knows how long Jake will sleep."

She nodded and smiled, once again excited about their postponed vacation. After she had lost the baby, they had agreed that it was completely the wrong time for them to try to have a fun-filled trip to paradise. However, summer had come, wounds had healed… and while Buffy still thought about the baby she lost with no small amount of sadness… she was carrying on with her life.

"At least he's not being cranky today… yesterday he was such a brat that I was starting to consider leaving him with Mom and having a romantic vacation with just the two of us," she replied, cringing as she recalled Jacob's various temper tantrums and refusals to take his nap, bathe or do anything else Buffy had asked.

"Yes, I really would prefer not to piss everyone in first class off with our ill-behaved child," he grinned, "So what's the first thing you want to do as soon as we get in our room?"

"Sleep… but then we have reality, AKA Jacob… he has radar… when I want to sleep, he wants to play. How about you?"

"Honey, do you really have to ask?" he teased, waggling his eyebrows suggestively, "Alas, there is the aforementioned Jacob problem, so that's out. I can't wait to check out the golf courses… I know! I could take Jacob golfing and you could sleep!"

Buffy gave him an incredulous look, "How do you plan on watching your son and golfing at the same time?"

"I can teach him how to golf. It's something I have wanted to do since before he was born, you know."

"He's one and a half!"

"Honey, Tiger Woods got interested in golf when he was only six months old and by the time he was two he was good enough to be on television!"

"That's Tiger. This," she replied, gesturing towards the sleeping toddler, "is Jacob."

Angel sighed, "So you would rather not get a nice nap?"

She shrugged her shoulders, "Fine… if you really want to… but I don't want you showing up half an hour after you leave being all grouchy because Jacob ruined your game."

Shrugging, Angel went back to his newspaper as Buffy rested her head against the back of the seat. Within moments, she was sleeping peacefully and he was thoroughly engrossed in a story about the power crisis. Things remained that way for another hour until Jacob awoke and grinned at Angel.

"Dada!"

Angel set the paper down and beamed at his son, "Hey Buddy, want to sit with me?"

Careful to be quiet and not wake Buffy, Angel pulled the baby out of his seat and set him in his lap. The two of them quietly played with Jacob's bear that he fondly referred to as 'Boo' for a while until the boy started to fuss. Angel carefully retrieved the diaper bag from in front of Buffy's feet and found some saltines in a baggy. He handed one to his son and managed to appease him for a bit, but Jacob began to cry and reach for Buffy.

Torn between wanting Buffy to sleep and not wanting to annoy the other passengers, Angel tried to find a way to calm him without his wife's help. He stood up from his seat, hoping maybe a little pacing would do the trick. Walking up and down the short aisle in first class, he found he received quite a few sympathetic smiles from women as Jacob whimpered softly in his ear.

It was then that a distinct smell wafted up to Angel's nose and he grimaced. Spotting a flight attendant, he approached the woman and asked, "Do you have baby changing facilities in the restroom?"

She smiled and nodded, "Yes, we do, Sir."

"Thank you," he replied, relieved that he wouldn't have to find the most non-offensive way to change Jacob's diaper in front of everyone… especially since they were getting close to lunchtime.

After grabbing the diaper bag from their seats, Angel found his way to the bathroom and, by no small miracle, managed to change his son's diaper in what had to be one of the most cramped spaces he had ever been in. Jacob found the entire thing amusing, apparently, and laughed as Angel pulled the diaper off and made a face.

"What did she feed you this morning?" he complained while cleaning the baby's bottom. Soon Jacob had a fresh diaper on and Angel was snapping his overalls closed, "There, all better?"

"Yeah!" Jacob clapped happily.

"See, you just have to tell me when these things are bothering you. You could have saved Daddy a lot of stress," he informed his son as they left the bathroom.

When Buffy awoke sometime later, she found Angel in his seat, holding Jacob in his lap as he read a book to him. The baby appeared to be quite happy, clapping his hands and squealing at certain parts of the story. She couldn't help but smile and marvel at what a great father Angel was. More than anything, she wanted a whole brood of kids with him. She was reminded of the baby she lost, the baby she thought about every day since her miscarriage. If she hadn't lost it, she would have been eight months pregnant then. Huge and uncomfortable and so excited about the baby.

Still, Buffy refused to get all weepy eyed. This was their vacation and she deserved to be happy. Even more, Angel and Jacob deserved to not have to deal with Depressed Buffy. She had a lot to be thankful for… she just had to remember that.

"Hey, did you have a nice nap?" Angel asked, looking over at her.

Jacob turned his head and smiled, "Hi Mama."

"Hi Baby," she grinned, then looked up at Angel, "Yes, I did… I really needed that."

"Good, you deserved it," he said, leaning over to kiss her.

"Dada!" Jacob shrieked, demanding attention.

Angel chuckled, "Sorry Jake."

Buffy watched on as Angel returned to his book and entertained Jacob until their lunch came. This was going to be a great week.

"Come on Jacob, be good for Mommy," Buffy said as she struggled to put sunblock on her son. He fought her every step of the way, of course, crying and trying to pull away, as though she was causing him great pain.

Angel, oblivious to the battle going on in the front room of their hotel suite, admired each and every one of his clubs, excited about his trip to the golf course. With a whistle, he emerged from the master bedroom, clubs in tow, and found Jacob happily racing around the room, having been freed from Buffy mere seconds earlier.

His wife smiled at him, "Now it's Daddy's turn to be good."

"Aww, Buffy, I don't need this stuff," Angel complained as she rubbed the sunblock on his face.

"Yes you do! Do you remember what happened the last time you went golfing when I was out with my mom? You turned as red as a lobster."

Angel sighed and allowed her to add lotion to his neck and arms. He *had* turned as red as a lobster and- even worse- he'd had to hear Buffy chide him about it for nearly a week.

"Are you going to put Jacob's carseat in the golf cart?" she asked.

Angel gave her a look that obviously said 'are you insane?' and replied, "No!"

"Those things have seatbelts, right? If they don't, I don't want Jacob in one."

"Of course they do," he lied. What was he supposed to do? It's not like he could lug Jacob *and* his clubs throughout the course.

"Well, at least make sure you put the seatbelt on him," she sighed, closing the lid on the sunblock and giving Angel a peck on the lips, "Finished!"

"Great," he grinned and grabbed his keys, "Come on Jacob, you and I are going out!"

Jacob ran over to him, a grin on his face, and happily allowed Angel to pick him up.

Buffy kissed her son before kissing Angel again, "Have fun and be careful… I'm still not sure this is a good idea."

"It'll be fine," he assured her, "Now go get some sleep. We'll be back in a few hours."

"Ahh, smell that?" Angel grinned as he carried Jacob out of the golf cart and set him down on the ground.

The baby looked around at the endless grass and clapped his hands. This definitely seemed like a fun game he was going to play with Daddy.

Angel took a few minutes, selecting the perfect club, while Jacob rolled around in the grass like he'd seen the neighbor's dog do. Once he was all set up, Angel checked on his son, saw him far enough away, and swung the club.

"Ooh, would you look at that!" Angel cheered as he watched the ball sail through the air.

Jacob sat up and watched as the ball moved further and further away before clapping, "Yay!"

"That's right," Angel nodded at him enthusiastically, "Yay!"

The boy stood and started running in the direction of the ball. Angel shook his head proudly as he watched his son toddle after the ball, "He's like a fish to water."

"Jacob, come here, Buddy. We'll take the cart to the ball," he said, walking over to his son and lifting him up before taking him back to the golf cart.

Once they reached the ball, Jacob excitedly ran to the ball and before Angel's horrified eyes, picked it up and showed it to his father triumphantly.

"No no no," Angel said quickly, taking the ball from Jacob and trying to set it back right where it had been. He looked back at the stunned boy and said "No touching the ball Jacob, okay?"

Despite the fact that he had tried to remain calm, his minor scolding caused Jacob's chin to quiver, his eyes to fill with tears and his mouth to open wide before he began wailing. Angel immediately felt bad and picked Jacob up, "I'm sorry, Jake. Daddy's not mad, it's okay."

As quickly as he began, Jacob stopped crying and sucked on his thumb. Angel set him back down a few yards from the ball and pasted a wide smile on his face, saying in a sugary voice, "No touch the ball, okay Jake?"

The baby apparently learned his lesson… or just lost interest in the ball. For a while, he seemed content just to sit and play in the grass while Angel played his game.

Until they got near the pond.

Angel didn't really think twice when he stopped their cart by his ball, about ten yards from a large pond. He set his Jacob on the grass and focused on picking a club. Immediately, Jacob saw the glistening water and smiled, "Wawa!"

His father turned around just in time to see the baby take off towards the pond, running as fast as his little legs would carry him. Angel raced after him, grabbing him and carrying the now kicking and screaming child back to the cart. He sighed as Jacob threw his tantrum and wondered how he was going to be able to hit the ball with one arm.

Angel exhaustedly carried his sleeping son in to the hotel suite. Never again would he take Jacob golfing. Well… at least for a few years. He'd finally had to set Jacob in the cart and quickly make his shot while Jacob struggled to climb out of the cart to make his way to the pond. Not only had being preoccupied with watching Jacob taken the fun out of the game, it had killed his score.

Setting his son in the crib, Angel couldn't help but smile at how… well… angelic he looked. He carefully pulled off Jacob's Weeboks before heading into the master bedroom, where he found Buffy sound asleep as well. Deciding he could use a nap as well, Angel pulled off his own shoes and climbed onto the bed beside her.

Buffy's eyes opened and she smiled drowsily, "Hey… how did it go?"

"I should have listened to you," he replied, smiling wryly at her.

"Oh, poor baby," she chuckled.

"Did I wake you up?"

"Nah," Buffy shook her head, "I was sleeping, but I've just been laying around for a while now. Did you… want to go to sleep?"

Angel smiled as she ran her hand suggestively over his chest, "I *wanted* to go to sleep… now I have other ideas…"

"Really? Like what?"

He quickly rolled so that he was on top of her and starting kissing the side of her neck. Buffy giggled loudly before he covered her lips with his own. Together, they pulled each other's clothes off, eager to start their vacation off with a bang.

"Mmmm," Buffy moaned, giving her husband a passionate kiss before moving to lay beside him in bed, "I'd better get up."

"No," Angel protested, tightening his arm around her, "don't go."

She sighed, "I don't want to, but you know Jacob is going to be up any second now."

Knowing she was right, Angel planted a tender kiss on her forehead, wishing they'd brought someone along to watch Jacob. Then again, he had been really good to them, since he'd slept long enough the afternoon before that after their little romp in the bed, they had also managed a shower together before the three of them went out for dinner. He had also gone to sleep soon after they had returned to their suite, the time difference taking a toll on him. Buffy and Angel had happily taken advantage of all their alone time late into the night and as soon as they had awakened that morning.

Angel decided to get a little more rest while Buffy showered and dressed, since there were other things to take advantage of while Jacob slept… like catching up on his own sleep. A moment later, though, Buffy reemerged from the bathroom.

"I know what I forgot."

Angel opened his eyes and gave her a confused look, "What?"

"My pills… birth control pills… I forgot them," she explained.

Angel sat up, "Oh… well that could be a problem."

"I can't believe I forgot them! I mean, all the relatively unimportant things that I *did* remember… I forgot my pills."

"Don't worry, Honey… I'll just go get some condoms later. It'll be fine."

"But condoms ruin the romance."

"Nah, they aren't *as* romantic… but we will make do… at least we get to make love," he pointed out, since their sex life for the past seven months had been nearly inexistent. First it had been because Buffy had lost the baby and needed to heal. Even after she had plenty of time to recuperate both physically and emotionally, Angel had been afraid to push her into intimacy. So… they had sex once in a while, when they weren't too busy or tired and were actually in the mood. It was nice being… like they used to be.

"Okay… I'd better go shower," Buffy sighed and got up off the bed. Angel couldn't help but smile appreciatively as he watched her firm behind while she retreated. Condoms sucked… but they were a million times better than no sex.

"Uh oh, here comes the wave, Jacob," Buffy warned, laughing as her son ran from the water. She'd started taking him to the beach back in Sunnydale as soon as it was warm enough that year and nothing made him happier. He loved to play in the waves, running away to try and evade them and loving it when he failed. Best of all, after a few hours of that, he was exhausted, so the couple planned to be able to have several hours alone together before dinner that night again.

Angel grinned and nuzzled Buffy's neck from his position behind her with Buffy sitting between his legs, resting her back on his chest. "Maybe while you give him his bath when we get back to the suite I can go get the condoms?"

Buffy turned her body a bit, "Actually… I was thinking about that… maybe you shouldn't buy any condoms at all."

Angel was confused, trying to understand what she meant. Did she not want to have sex… or what?

"Maybe we could just… go without birth control at all… and if I get pregnant…" she shrugged and smiled, "I think I want another baby."

He was floored… they'd never *really* discussed having children other than to say they wanted to have quite a few. And even then, they were usually keeping it lighthearted, with Buffy saying four was her limit and Angel saying he wanted at least eight. Jacob had been completely unplanned, as had the other baby… so he never expected Buffy to tell him she wanted to try and have another *now*.

Before he could come up with a response, Buffy was on her feet, running towards Jacob, who was racing into the water. She'd taken him to swimming lessons the previous summer, so he could actually swim in a pool, but there was no way he could make it in the ocean. Angel had just gotten up when Buffy came back, carrying Jacob and smiling sheepishly at her husband.

"Maybe we should discuss this later… when our attention isn't needed elsewhere?"

"Good idea," he nodded, following as Buffy carried Jacob back to the sand so that they could attempt to build a sand castle… attempt being the key word there.

"God, he is exhausting," Buffy sighed, collapsing next to Angel on the couch in the front room after putting Jacob down for his nap. It constantly amazed her how such a tiny person could have so much energy.

"Yeah, but it's the nice kind of exhaustion," he replied, smiling as he ran his fingers up and down Buffy's arm. "Now, can we get back to this baby business?"

"I guess I kind of left you hanging there, huh?"

"To say the least. I just… wasn't expecting it."

"I know… but losing the baby made me think about babies a lot and I realized today that I really want another. I know we both agreed we want more kids, but I want another *now* and I don't see any reason why we shouldn't have another baby."

"What about school? I have no doubt that you can handle a baby, a toddler and schoolwork, but it's a lot to deal with… and it seems like your plate is full already."

"Well… I could put Jacob and the new baby in the new daycare center at the school. Remember I checked it out? They just have to be three months old to go there. So if I were to get pregnant within the next few months, I'd be able to put Jacob and the new baby in there by the fall semester. And I could do that and go to school only half time or maybe not at all and then I don't have to worry about daycare," Buffy said, "I'm kinda considering quitting… at least for a while."

"Buffy, you don't want to quit. You need your degree!" Angel argued.

"In what, Angel? I have no more idea now what I want to be than I did when I started school. Besides, even if I got a degree, I doubt I would want to go get a job where I would have to be away from the house for forty hours a week. I know a lot of women consider their careers an escape and I am, like, going right back to the 50's… but I like being home with Jacob and doing the house stuff… hanging out with Spike."

"Buffy, I don't want you to miss out on things. I know when you first started college, I was a little reluctant because I worried about you, but now I see things differently. I know that you can go *so* far… and I don't want to hold you back," he told her.

Buffy gave him a small smile and leaned over to place a kiss on his lips, "I love you for that, but I promise you, I don't feel like I *can't* go to school… I don't want to. I have enough to do at home. You know very well that I don't sit around and watch soap operas. I get to have so many jobs. I am a cook, a nurse, Jacob's buddy, I clean, I repair, I'm my own boss... and it fulfills me. And I promise you, if I change my mind, I'll go back to school. The university will always be there."

"Buffy… it's not going to be as easy to go back to school if you leave," Angel reminded her.

She sighed, "You don't want another baby?"

"Honey, that's not it at all. I love you and Jacob, and the idea of making another baby with you sounds wonderful. You know I want more… I just worry that you're not planning this out well. I'm worried that maybe *because* you lost the baby, you want another and you aren't really thinking about this."

"Angel, when I first lost the baby, I wanted another. I'd see women with infants and beg God to give me one too. And then I got over it. I still love that baby and sometimes I still cry for it, but I haven't yearned for a child for all these months just because of that or I would have said something before now. It's just that I love our little family but I feel a void. I feel a need for another child. It's not just because of the baby we lost or that I lost my pills. I have been thinking about this for some time now and I think it's the right time."

It was Angel's turn to cry as he felt himself melt. He wanted to be the voice of reason, but it was so hard to deny Buffy anything. He loved her more than life itself, and he really did want to have another baby… now seemed as good a time as any. He just wanted to be sure it's what she wanted.

"Look, it's not like I am some dumb teenage girl who thinks babies are so cute, like little dolls, and I want one. I know I will get huge and feel wretched. I know that labor is like no pain I have ever experienced. I know that I will love this baby and give it all I have and get no hugs or kisses or thank you's from it for quite some time. I'll be exhausted and overworked and have an even harder time because I'll have to chase Jacob around and be his mommy too. I know what I am getting into and I still want to do this," Buffy told him, then smiled, "How about we compromise that I think about the school thing long and hard. I mean, I can still go this semester and even the next one, so I have time to decide. Angel, even if I go to school… I want another baby. But… if you don't want one… we won't do this."

Angel was silent for a moment, trying to sort things out in his head. At long last, he returned her smile, "I have faith in you... besides, it's pretty hard to argue against something I want as well."

Buffy squealed and launched herself in his arms, kissing him passionately. She quickly broke away, "I love you!"

"I love you too," he chuckled, then kissed her again before asking, "So… should we get started on our new project now?"

"Mmm," she moaned, "You know, on Oprah a while ago, they had this thing about what the best time of day to do stuff was. Like, you should work out between five and seven at night and you should buy shoes after you work all day so your feet are swollen and-"

"Baby, I love you, but can you shut up about Oprah?" Angel asked, pulling back, "You're ruining the mood."

Buffy giggled, "I was just going to say… they said the best time of day to try and make a baby is late afternoon."

"Oh really? Well, what do you know, it's late afternoon now," Angel feigned shock, before rising with Buffy in his arms and carried her to the bedroom.

Gently setting her on the bed, he crawled over her and placed a kiss on her lips. Quickly, his fingers found the hem of her top and tugged until the article up until it was flying to the floor beside the bed as their mouths mated passionately. Buffy returned the favor, begrudgingly breaking their kiss while she dragged his polo shirt over his head. As she threw it away from them to join her top on the floor, Angel put his hands on her waist and pulled her with him as he rolled on his back.

Their lips met again and before they knew it, both were nude. Buffy pulled back and smiled mischievously down at him as she sat up and straddled him. He couldn't help but think she was the sexiest woman ever... and he had a lifetime to be seduced by her over and over and over...

She grabbed his erection and slowly stroked her hand up and down his length a few times, eliciting some appreciative moans from her husband. Rising up to her knees, Buffy scooted up a bit before sliding down on top of him, sighing contentedly as he filled her. She never felt quite so complete as when Angel was inside her.

Not wanting to rush things, Buffy only rocked slightly for a few moments, moving her hands over Angel's chest, lightly scratching his nipples. He smiled up at her, running his hands up and down her sides and giving her breasts gentle squeezes. Sitting up, Angel placed his hands on either side of her face.

"I love you, Buffy," he whispered before pulling her face to his and kissed her tenderly, his teeth gently nibbling at her lips before she opened her mouth and he slipped his tongue inside. He ran his hands through her hair and down her back to her waist to pull her tightly as he thrust into her.

Buffy moaned against his mouth and thrust back against him. Angel rolled them again so that Buffy was on her back, beneath him on the bed. He began a rhythm of slowly but firmly slamming into her willing body. They barely remained aware of the fact that their sleeping son was in the next room and they had to be quiet so they wouldn't wake him as they grew closer to climax.

Buffy's strong legs wrapped around Angel's waist as he pounded faster and faster inside her. "Oh… oh… Angel… yes…" she moaned quietly.

Angel's lips moved down to her breast, suckling her nipple like a newborn, occasionally giving it a gentle nip. Buffy curled her fingers through his short hair, arching her back up and curling her toes tightly. He trailed a path of kisses up her shoulder and the side of her neck until their mouths were once again fused together.

Knowing his orgasm was approaching in a matter of seconds and wanting her to come with him, Angel reached his hand between them to her center and found her swollen nubbin. With just a little bit of pressure, Buffy's hips were bouncing off the bed as she writhed uncontrollably underneath him. The feel of her tight heat squeezing him was too much and Angel flung his head back, pumping into her rapidly as he spilled his seed deep inside her womb.

Slowly, they came down from their highs, both out of breath with a thin sheen of sweat covering their skin. Buffy allowed Angel to lay on top of her, his weight not bothering her for the time being. Tenderly, she ran her fingertips over Angel's back and placed soft kisses on his shoulder.

"Angel?"

"Hmm?"

"I love you too."

Angel grinned and moved his head so he could kiss her again. Buffy's hands moved to the back of his head as the kiss grew more passionate. Almost immediately, they found themselves aroused once again, and were well on their way to having a baby-making marathon... When Jacob began crying.

"Mama!" the little boy sobbed.

Buffy and Angel both groaned and reluctantly moved apart. Climbing off the bed, the Slayer found her husband's shirt on the floor and slipped it on, since it went nearly to her knees.

"Oh well, at least we got to do it once," she sighed, giving him a smile before leaving him alone in the room.

As disappointed as he was, Angel couldn't help but grin. How could he really complain after he'd just had great sex with the woman he loved… and they'd been interrupted by their son, who was nothing short of a miracle. He could have it a lot worse.

Grabbing his boxers, Angel slid them on and called, "Hey Buffy, why don't you bring Jake in here?"

A moment later, the blonde appeared in the doorway with the baby on her hip. Jacob was happily drinking a sippy cup of juice but pulled it away from his mouth to smile at his daddy.

"Hi Dad!"

Angel chuckled, "Hi Jake."

Buffy carried him to the bed and the two climbed next to Angel. Jacob gave his father a wet kiss and Buffy happily copied the action, leaning next to Angel as he wrapped his arm around her and Jacob sat happily between them.

As Buffy played with Jacob, Angel had to admit that as much as he loved their little family as it was... the idea of a new addition thrilled him beyond comprehension. He lovingly kissed Buffy's forehead and shared a look with her before picking up Jacob by his ankles so he could dangle the boy upside down. Jacob squealed loudly and laughed as Buffy worried he'd start to choke. And in that moment, Angel was sure of one thing... He was one lucky bastard.

"Oh, Angel will love this," Buffy grinned, examining herself in the mirror. She was wearing a white sundress with big red cherries on it. It showed cleavage, but not *too* much… and was nice and short, showing off her tan legs.

Actually, in a way, Angel would hate it. He'd love it if she wore it around the house when Spike was out of town, so only he could see it... but if she wore it in public, she'd have all sorts of men checking her out and Angel was absolutely not down with that.

Buffy shrugged and walked back into the fitting room. Angel would get over it.

Really, she was quite pleased with Angel at the moment. They were going home the next day and he had insisted she take a few hours that morning to go shopping alone. All week, they had done family things, except for a couple afternoons when he had gone golfing *without* Jacob. To return the favor, Angel was taking care of their son while Buffy went out so that she wouldn't have to deal with a cranky baby.

Standing in her underwear, Buffy smiled and ran her hand over her belly, trying to imagine how swelled it might be in six months, if all went well. She and Angel certainly had been giving their all, trying to get pregnant. It had to be the most fun project she'd ever had.

She pulled her skirt and tank top back on and glanced at her watch. Seeing that it was nearly lunch time, Buffy decided she might as well head back to the hotel so that the three of them could go to a restaurant together. If all went well, afterwards they could but Jacob to bed and have a little alone time... which translated to nookie.

"Well, I've helped raise five younger brothers and sisters. When I was fourteen, I began babysitting. I worked in a daycare center from the time I was sixteen to eighteen. Since I started college, I have just been babysitting for extra money, but in the summertime I also work at a day camp as a counselor."

Angel nodded, "Well, that's quite a bit of experience, Sydnie."

The blonde across the table from him smiled and nodded, "People have always asked me why I didn't work at a department store or waitress or something so that I could make more money… I just love children."

"That's great," he grinned, "What are you going to school for?"

"Big surprise, I want to be a teacher."

"Boo," Jacob said, walking up to Sydnie with his bear in hand.

She smiled down at him, "Boo?"

"It's the bear's name," Angel informed her.

"Oh, what a nice bear," she told him as the baby showed her the bear that had obviously been well played with. Jacob had actually used him as a teething toy.

The toddler held up his arms and she picked him up, settling him in her lap. Angel smiled as he saw how Jacob took to her. Obviously, this girl had a way with children… and despite the fact that he'd met her a mere twenty minutes earlier, he knew she'd be perfect.

"Well, if you are still willing, my wife and I would need you to baby-sit for him tonight, probably from about six to ten or so. I'm not positive on the times yet because I'm surprising her."

"Oh, that's so sweet!" Sydnie told him, "And I would love to baby-sit."

"Great… we don't get a lot of time to ourselves and even on this vacation, we've had to take care of Jacob all the time because he is too young for the daycare center."

"Yeah, that's hard, but this will be a wonderful surprise."

"I hope so, she deserves it. I had to send her out shopping so that I could do some interviews," Angel told her, relieved that she was so great. All the other babysitters the hotel had sent before Sydnie had been... nightmares. He had just about given up on a romantic evening with Buffy, but the night was now saved!

Seeing the time on the clock, Angel's eyes widened, "Jeez, it's already past twelve, Buffy's going to be back soon."

"Well, then I had better make my exit," Sydnie replied, standing up, still holding Jacob.

"I hate to rush you out, but I really want to surprise her."

"That's fine," she assured him as she walked to the door, "So should I plan on being here at six?"

"Yeah, I can give you a call if that changes."

"That works for me," she smiled, handing him Jacob, "I'll see you later, okay Jacob?"

"Say bye-bye Jake," Angel told his son.

The baby waved his hand, "Bye-bye!"

Sydnie laughed, "Bye-bye."

She no sooner stepped out the door when Buffy came down the hallway, a confused look on her face as she saw a strange woman coming out of her hotel suite.

"Buffy," Angel said, trying to think of a good lie, but immediately knowing it was pointless, "This is Sydnie."

Sydnie grimaced, "Hi… I was supposed to be gone before you got back. I'm sorry Mr. McKellen."

"Oh no, it's not your fault," he replied, the looked at Buffy, "Sydnie's a babysitter the hotel referred me to. I planned a romantic night out, just the two of us… I wanted it to be surprise."

A wide smile spread on Buffy's face, "Really?"

"Of course, really," Angel told her.

"That's sweet," she said, then held her hand out to Sydnie, "Nice to meet you."

"You too," Sydnie said as she shook her hand, "Well, I had better be running. I'll see you later."

"Bye," Buffy and Angel called as Jacob continued to wave at his new friend.

Buffy hugged Angel, "I love you."

He smiled proudly, "I love *you*... I just wish I could do more for you."

"You do plenty," she told him as they walked into the hotel suite, shutting the door behind them.

"I really don't think I do… and especially when we have another baby, I am going to have to make 'romancing Buffy' a top priority."

She grinned and planted a kiss in his lips, "How can I argue with that?"

"Wow, look at this… the tables are so small! You could never fit a high chair," Buffy commented.

Angel grinned, "I know! And there isn't a children's menu, either."

Sighing, his wife replied, "Since when did going to an adult restaurant become so special? We need to go out more."

"You're right, we do. Why don't we?"

She shrugged, "I don't know, I guess we're always too busy or too tired."

"Well, we have Spike, your mother, our friends… plenty of people to take care of Jacob. I say we go out to dinner, just the two of us, more often."

"I like that idea," Buffy smiled, leaning across the table to kiss him.

"Then it's settled. Know what you want to eat?"

"I think so. Will you order me some red wine?"

"Anything for you," he answered smoothly. Screw being responsible, mature, *parents*. They were going to have fun!

"I can't believe you remembered," Buffy remarked, holding Angel's hand tightly as they walked along the very same shore of the very same beach as they had done the last night of their honeymoon.

"Like I would ever forget," he answered, kissing the top of her head.

"What's that for?" she asked, gesturing to the blanket he held in the hand that wasn't clasping hers.

"Well... I was just remembering how we used to be. Like when we went on that trip to San Francisco. Remember?"

A wide grin spread on Buffy's face. "You want to do it right here on the beach?"

"Why not?" he shrugged. "It's dark out… nobody is around… but we *could* get caught… it's just dangerous enough to be really sexy."

Buffy stopped walking, placing her free hand on the side of his face and pulling him down for a deep kiss. "I suppose it goes against all the rules of playing hard to get… but I really really want you right now."

He smiled, then pulled her a few more yards until they were an even distance between two light poles... And in a fairly dark spot. Spreading the blanket on the sand, the two of them knelt on top of it, wrapping their arms around each other before kissing passionately.

Angel hadn't been kidding about the danger being sexy. Buffy was incredibly turned on and couldn't wait to get naked with her husband. Being a woman with initiative, she quickly started unbuttoning Angel's shirt until she was able to run her hands over his firm chest, feeling his muscles ripple beneath her fingers. Lightly scratching her nails over his sensitive nipples, Buffy elicited a moan from Angel, who, for the time being, was content to lay on his back on the blanket and let his wife take the lead.

Bending down, Buffy rained kisses over his clavicle, trailing down his sternum to nip one nipple and then the other. She lifted her head, not being able to kiss him on the lips before she returned her mouth to one of his nipples, alternating between licking and suckling it.

Angel's hands threaded in her hair as he closed his eyes, letting the sensations wash over him. Buffy moved her mouth to the other nipple, not wanting to disregard it. As her husband began whispering words of encouragement, she moved on, kissing his rippled abs while her hands adroitly unbuttoned and unzipped his pants.

"Lift your hips, Baby," she softly ordered.

Angel instantly obeyed and she was able to tug his pants and boxers down, opting not to pull them past his knees. Straddling his thighs, Buffy wrapped her hand as much as possible around his erection and, with painful slowness, stroked him from the base to the head, before rubbing her thumb over the tip, spreading around the pre-cum that had leaked out of the slit. She began a steady rhythm, squeezing him slightly as she moved her hand up and down over and over.

And then she stopped.

Angel's eyes popped open and he lifted his head, desperately crying, "Buffy?"

With a wicked smile, Buffy ran her nails up the sensitive underside, making his eyes roll back in his head. She was evil. He loved her tremendously, would do anything for her... but she was one sadistic woman.

He soon realized Buffy was softly calling his name and looked up at her again, noticing she had pulled her panties off and was dangling them in the air while she once again bestrode his thighs.

Seeing what she had his attention, she asked, "How much do you want to be inside me?"

"More than anything," he replied hoarsely.

"Really? You promise? I mean… if you could have any woman in the world-"

Angel reached out and caressed the sides of her thighs with his strong hands, "As far as I'm concerned, you're the *only* woman in the world."

Buffy giggled, "Ooh… good answer."

At long last, she sat up on her knees, flinging her panties aside, and crawled up Angel's body until the head of his erection was butting right against her sopping entrance. She grasped him with one hand and reverently caressed the side of his face with the other before languidly sliding down on his length, moaning loudly as he filled her like no other man had, or ever would.

"Oh God," he sighed, "I love you so much."

Buffy smiled down at him, lifted her hips until only the head and his manhood was inside her, and sunk back down. Without haste, Buffy repeated this action until neither could stand it any longer. Angel attempted to take control, but found that his pants and boxers severely limited his lower body movement. Somehow he doubted it was purely unintentional on Buffy's part.

All thoughts of how sinister his 'sweet little wife' was fled his mind as Buffy began rolling her hips in a circular motion. Unable to do much else, Angel began thrusting up as he gripped her hips tightly, pulling her down against him.

Leaning back, Buffy placed one of her hands on his thigh for support and reached between her legs with the other hand, pinching her swollen nubbin to reach the release she was so desperate for. Angel released one of her hips and aided in the effort, interlacing his fingers with her own.

Together, they rubbed her clitoris, bringing her to a powerful orgasm within seconds. Buffy babbled incoherently as her body shook with the waves of pleasure crashing through her. As her impossibly strong muscles squeezed him in a vise-like grip, Angel could no longer hold his own release at bay and spilled himself deep inside her womb, his thrusts wild and out of control. She rode him, managing to reach another climax before he stilled, gasping for breath.

It had been a long time since either had experienced such an intense orgasm and they both collapsed on the blanket, not caring for the moment if the beach wasn't as deserted as it appeared.

After several long moments, Buffy broke the silence, "Angel?"

"Hmm?"

"I love you too."

He smiled, gazing affectionately at the tiny blonde wonder that had changed his existence so much. "I love you more."

"Not possible."

"Oh, it's possible."

"I'm sorry, but you're wrong."

"I am not!"

"Yes, you're a man."

"Well, you're right about that. But I'm still not wrong."

Buffy sat up, "You really want to prove you love me?"

"Sure…" he answered slowly, raising his eyebrow inquisitively. This could be leading somewhere dangerous.

Leaning down, she seductively whispered in his ear, "Then let's go back to the hotel so you can *show* me."

"You don't want me to show you here again?"

"As fun as it was… I'm afraid we'll end up with sand in... places sand really shouldn't be." She found her panties and tried to shake all the sand out of them before sighing and putting them in her purse. "See what I mean?"

Angel shook the worn-out bear in front of Jacob's face, entertaining the boy... and hoping perhaps he could hypnotize him and make him go to sleep. They'd only been in the air for an hour and amusing Jacob was an exhausting job.

He glanced towards the airplane restroom, hoping to see Buffy coming out. Maybe she'd take a turn when she got back.

"Boo!" Jacob called, his arms reaching for the bear. Angel handed it to him, hoping that maybe if he had his doll to hold, he'd go to sleep.

A moment later, Buffy returned a dispirited look on her face. Sitting down in her seat on the other side of Jacob, she looked up at Angel and said quietly, "I'm definitely not pregnant."

Angel looked at her for a few seconds before replying, "You're sure? I mean, you… uh… you started your…"

"I got my period," she answered, with a faint smile.

"I'm sorry, Baby… we'll keep trying."

"Don't be sorry… we didn't stand a chance. If I started today… that means by the time we started trying it was already too late."

"Figures," Angel nodded, "I mean, we know that your parts and my parts work just fine. We have Jake."

Buffy's shoulders shook with laughter, "We'll get pregnant, I'm sure of it. Just not this month. I guess I'm a little disappointed, that's all."

"On the bright side, we can start trying again in a week," Angel smiled, reaching over and squeezing her shoulder.

"Well, I'll be most fertile in *two* weeks."

"Honey, I think it's only smart if we practice. Practice makes perfect. Practice makes baby."

Buffy laughed again before leaning over to Jacob to kiss Angel. Their vacation may be over… but the fun was just beginning.

The End
