The days that passed since Buffy's death were long and painful for the Scoobies. They were caught in an engulfment of horror and agony. Everyone of the Scoobies were living their private hell. Not one member of the Scooby Gang could even look at another, for it hurt to much to remember what they had gone through together. All the dark forces they had battled, all the times they were caught in traps, and above all how many times Buffy had saved their lives. None of them even wanted to admit Buffy was dead. No one wanted to talk about the pain they felt that was eating away at them. So eventually a rift began to grow between all of the Scoobies. Xander and Anya buried themselves in wedding plans to block out the pain of loosing their beloved slayer. Every night since Buffy's death Spike would go to the nearest bar and drink away his sorrow. Dawn stayed with Spike, but whenever legal guardianship came into play she stayed with Willow and Tara. Since Buffy's death Dawn had started hanging out with the wrong group of people and was constantly in trouble. Tara had her hands full trying to watch and help Dawn to console Willow. Giles had left them all to go back "home" to England. He had told Willow that there was no point in staying in Sunnydale with no slayer there to watch over. Willow knew that Giles just couldn't take the pain of losing Buffy. She was the closest thing to a daughter he had ever had. So Willow was left alone with her pain and misery. To keep herself and the others from just completely shutting down, she had fixed the Buffy-Bot and re-programmed her to act more like Buffy. The Bot went to parent teacher conferences, schoolboard meetings, and even college. After this Willow again began to feel empty. So she had started to tap deeper into the black arts. And unbeknownst to her friends she was creating a spell that would bring their cherished slayer back. None of the other Scoobies had even noticed Willow putting the extra hours into her magic, or the late night shifts she had begun to practice. She would constantly be in the Magic Shop looking for supplies she needed for the spells. It was finally Xander who one day while Willow was in the Magic Shop buying some more supplies spoke to her about it. He had been helping Anya around the shop that Giles had totally abandoned. "Hey. Will..... I.... we haven't talked in a while," he started as he playfully punched her arm "I'm starting to miss all the wacky girl talk we used to have." A smile played across Willow's face as she remembered all the times Buffy and her had talked about boys and make-up and clothes around Xander. For the first time she thought how uncomfortable it must have been for him.

"I know. I miss it too, but....." she trailed off.

"I know you're too busy with your black magic spells and late night sessions to even care anymore!" he stated quite matter-of-factly.

"What the hell are you talking about?" she was trying hard not to scream at the top of her lungs.

"Willow. C'mon I've known you since we were kids. I know how you think, what your thinking, and hell why you think it! I'm not the idiot you think I am! You walk in and out of this shop every day looking for supplies! You have circles under your eyes, and I've even see you take books from up where Giles told you never to take books from! Give me some credit!" he looked at her deliriously with rage.

"How the HELL do you know all that?" her eyes angrily bore into his searching for an answer.

"Oh I can answer that," Anya had finally come out from behind the register "Xander and me were having sex on the table over there when you came in to get the restricted books. We were also having sex with costumes and whips when you came in t-"

"Anya. Hun. That's enough. I think she gets the point." Xander stated as he blushed profusely.

"Xander you blushing like that is very arousing. Want to go have sex in the training room and role-play?" Anya asked seriously.

"Babes, Hun, sweet cheeks, now is sooooooo not the time for anyone, and I mean ANYONE to find out about the role-playing." he said turning towards Willow. "Willow, we're you friends and we just want to help. Whatever you're doing, what ever spell you're conjuring up, it can and won't make Buffy come back. I mean God didn't trying to replace her with the Buffy-Bot teach you that nothing can replace her Nothing can or ever will. I feel as bad as you do bu-"

"How can you even say that? You feel as bad as me? C'mon Xander you've been prancing around with Anya all over freaking town getting ready for your wedding like nothing ever happened! How can you tell me you feel the way I do? How can you say you know what I'm going through?" she shrieked at the top of her lungs as she stormed out the doors.

"Soooooo.... wanna have sex?" Anya asked as she jumped onto Xander wrapping her legs around him.

"I'll show him nothing'll bring her back." Willow said to herself as she gathered the ingredients to her next spell. She was throwing things in a frenzy around her dorm room looking for the things she needed when Tara walked in with Dawn.

"What's wrong?" Asked Tara as she looked around the room horrified at the mess and at the commotion Willow was making.

"Willow?...... Are you ok?..... Would you like any help?" stammered Dawn

"No I'm fine. I'm just going to show Xander something that will make him look as stupid as he really is!" Willow said darkly and calmly. It was the complete parallel to how she had been acting a minute ago. And she walked out the door.

It had been a while since Willow had last been here. She hated the sounds and appearance of it at night. She hated the way it made all the hairs on her neck stand on end, and how it sent chills up her spine everytime she heard the slightest bit of noise. But as she looked at Buffy's headstone, she realized it was all worth it. She quickly set up all her supplies and to start the spell. As she did this she silently prayed that this would be the spell that finally worked. She had spent hours on end of researching on this particular spell. She sat in the middle of where Buffy's body should lay, closed her eyes and began her mantra. "Keeper of death. Bringer of life. Swallower of all hope. You have wrongfully stolen a precious soul. And owe but one more gift in return in place of it. Give back what was stolen. And is rightfully mine. Give me back the precious soul of the fallen slayer Buffy Anne Summers! Keeper of death. Bringer of life. Swallower of all hope. You have wrongfully stolen a precious soul. And owe but one more gift in return in place of it. Give back what was stolen. And is rightfully mine. Give me back the precious soul of the fallen slayer Buffy Anne Summers. Keeper of death. Bringer of life. Swallower of all ho-"

"What the bloody hell do you think you're doing mate?" It was a sober Spike from which the question had come from. Willow had jumped at hearing the sudden break in the silence.

"Spike! Oh geez! You scared me!" yelped the redhead

"Yep. Still got it in me huh love. But you didn't answer the bloody question. What the hell do you think you are doing?" he asked quizzically as he kept his hand behind his back visibly trying to hide something.

"Well... I was just trying a spell.... that would maybe.." She stammered

"..... Maybe bring back Buffy? Well duh mate.. give me some credit. I mean more of why you're out here all by yourself." He stated sweetly.

"Oh. Well no one really knows what I'm doing except for you. Spike what are you hiding behind your back?" Willow interrogated.

"Oh. Well. They're flowers. I was going to put them on Buffy's grave." he solemnly stated as he placed them on the ground by the headstone.

"Spike, that is so...." But she trailed off as the tears that were threatening to come, fell silently.

"There, there mate, believe me, I miss her too Red. I know what it feels like. If you ever need to talk, I'll be there for you." Willow gazed up at him him in awe.

"Thank you! I... I just really hope the spell works.... Did you really love her?" Willow asked

"Yes I did. 'Till it hurt like bloody hell!" he whispered. "C'mon let's get out of here." He draped a friendly arm over her shoulder as he guided her and her supplies out of the cemetery. They were too busy talking to each other to notice the hand erupt from the grave.

"Mom, I know I'm not with my friends. But I'm here with you. And I don't have all that responsibility now. No weight of the world. Oh, and hey no more term-papers! That's always a plus!" Joked Buffy as she sat at the table with her mother.

"I know hunny. It's just that well... you're so young. You shouldn't have died yet." Joyce said very matter-of-factly.

"Look, mom, first of all I was young. Second of all it's been two months since I died. And are we going to have this conversation every time we go out to eat?" Buffy retorted.

" It's just that I-" started Joyce before she was cut off by the waiter.

"Here's your spaghetti and garlic bread Ma'am. And here's you side salad." said the waiter as he placed the food in front of Buffy and Joyce. "enjoy." and poof, he disappeared in with a bright flash of light.

"I am so never going to get over that disappearing act every one pulls here. That and the white all over. White shirts, pants, shoes, dresses, skirts. shoes, scrunchies.... that and you can't gain any weight here and yet you're still eating an all salad diet...." she trailed off once she notice the look her mother gave her.

"Honey there are just some things people never get over." Her mother laughed.

"Seriously. Mom, I'm really happy to be here with you. I thought that when you died I would never see you again. And I....." she stopped when a piece of paper fluttered to the table from somewhere above. Buffy silently read it. When she was through she looked up lovingly and sadly into her mothers eyes tears threatening to spew out. And said her last word "Mommy?" and poof she was gone with a flash of blinding white light. Joyce quickly grabbed the paper that was fluttering down to the table in mid-air. And read it :

Dear Miss. Buffy Anne Summers,

There was a mistake with your death. You have died before you were meant to. It is being corrected. If you wish to learn more on this matter you must take your inquiry to the City of Angels. Your friends and family need you back on Earth. That is your true place at this time.

Signed,

The Powers That Be

"Good luck sweetheart." Joyce whispered more to the vanished Buffy than to herself.

Buffy gasped in the sweet air as she reached the top of her grave. "Oh boy. This is so confusing."

*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*

"Xander where are you? Can I please talk to you?" yelled Willow to the emptiness as she walked into the store. After three or four beats. A response was shouted from somewhere in the store.

"Yeah... uhhhhh... just give me a sec....." came the familiar voice from somewhere in the back. A few seconds later Xander emerged from the training room. His hair was all disheveled and his clothes were rumpled, he even had Anya's lipstick marks on his cheeks and forehead. "What's up?" he questioned.

"Eeeeehhhheeeeemmmmm..." Willow made a clearing her nose noise as she motioned for him to wipe his cheek. He quickly caught onto the motions Willow was making and obeyed. "Well, I wanted to apologize for the way I've been behaving lately. You were right. I have been going all Phoenixy. And now that I've seen the errors of my ways, I have to say sorry cuz, I was such a totally *****!" The Redhead said in one breath.

"Let me guess none of the spells worked and you finally gave up huh?" Xander said in a sarcastic joking tone.

"Hey that pretty much sums it up." Willow laughed.

Anya entered the room with a blindfold over her eyes and in a tarzany looking suit. "Jane want Tarzan to-" she was quickly cut off by Xander.

"Hun, we're not alone." Then turning to Willow "It's so not what you think." He put his hands up as if it would help with his lame excuse.

"I don't wanna know." Willow said as she acted as if she cringed.

Buffy aimlessly walked the streets not really knowing what she was doing. She wasn't sure if she wanted to go back to her friends. Yet she didn't have anywhere else to go. That and she at least owed them the courtesy of letting them know how... alive... she was now. So that was that. She headed off to the Magic Shop hoping someone would be there. But just as she turned to go towards the Magic Shop, she heard a scream. She sprinted across the street to the alley. But just as she arrived at the mouth of the alley, she saw a petite blond dust a vampire. The girl that had screamed took one look at the blonde and ran screaming out of the alley. She brushed by Buffy knocking her in the shoulder. but when the girl turned to throw a flimsy apology her eyes only got wider, and her screams louder as she tore out of the alley into the night. "Well that was weird." She said to herself. Once the petite came closer, Buffy could make out that she looked familiar too familiar. It was the Buffy-Bot! *Now it all makes sense!* She thought.

"Buffy? I thought you were dead. I must have Willow update my memory!" Said the Bot way too perky for Buffy's taste.

"Well, I just go resurrected so..... no one knows about this yet but you. Would you do me a favor and update me on what's been going on while we walk to the Magic Shop?" Buffy asked the Robot slowly.

"Sure. It could be fun. Let's talk about Spike!" Squealed the Bot.

"Let's not!" Buffy mimicked. *Looks like Willow didn't totally de-bug it yet.* "Oh, wait I want to do something first. Go on ahead without me. Go home and tell Dawn I'm back." Buffy said as she walked away into the darkness. The Buffy-Bot briskly strolled down the streets heading for the Summers Residence. Or rather the Spike/Summers residence. She was quietly humming to herself when from out of the shadows jumped a biker.

"Slayer... tonight you die!" Hissed the biker as his faced morphed into it's true vampire face. It launched it's body at the Buffy-Bot with full force. As it launched at her more of his buddies jumped out of the shadows to help back up their friend.

*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*

Buffy sat down on the dewy grass. She let the oh so usual sounds and darkness cover her. She looked up at her mothers headstone. "I'm so sorry Mommy. I didn't know. I don't want to be back here. There's just to much that's happened to me that I can't forget. There's just so much weight on my shoulders. I can't do this Mommy! I want to be back there with you!" She whimpered as she broke down and sobbed.

*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*

The Buffy-Bot ran as fast as her robotic legs would carry her. Her battery wouldn't last anywhere near long enough to fight the vampires that were attacking here. That and she had promised Buffy that she would tell Dawn that the real Buffy was back. So she ran like she had never run before. She could see the Spike/Summers house in the near distance. She picked up her pace just the slightest bit as she rocketed towards the house. A few seconds later she was yelling for Dawn to open up the door because the vampires were gaining on her. Suddenly the door swung open and both Spike and Dawn stood there with a puzzled expressions on their faces. But just as the Buffy-Bot was about to run through the door on of the bikers caught her by the hair and pulled her back. the Buff-Bot knowing she wouldn't make it yelled the news as the vampires beat her.

"Dawn! Buffy! Is! Back!" The next thing Dawn knew Spike had pushed her into the house and blocked her view of the fight. Just in time because while two vampires held the Buffy-Bot, the one of the three left ripped her head off with it's bear hands. And the Buffy-Bot died. Once the vampires had killed the Buffy-Bot thinking it was the real Buffy, they decided the town was too lame, and mumbled something about leaving town.

*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*

After Buffy's sob fest at her mother's grave she headed toward the Magic Shop. On the way she passed the Expresso Pump and the Bronze and remembered all the good times her and the Scoobs had had together. While she was in her silent revere she realized she had arrived at the Magic Box. She slowly entered. By then everyone had gathered there. Everyone but Giles, Buffy noticed as she walked in. But she didn't have that long to think, because as soon as she entered the Shop, she was being strangled to death by bear-hugs all around. "Whoa! You guys, I need to breath now!" Buffy rasped!

"My spell finally worked! Oh my God it finally worked!" Willow was screaming in the background!

"I thought I'd lost you forever!" Spike said to Buffy, she could tell he was near tears with joy.

"Spike, you never had me." She said jokingly. Everyone took turns greeting and hugging Buffy.

"Buffy?.... I missed you so much!" Dawn said as she buried her head into Buffy's shoulder and sobbed.

"Well you don't have to miss me anymore. This time I'm back for good!" She said as she stroked her sisters hair. The Scoobies spent the rest of the night hugging Buffy and updating her on what had happened while she was dead. They told her about Giles, and her funeral. They told her who had showed up, but most importantly who didn't. That's when she realized she had to talk to Angel. She had to know why The Powers That Be had told her to "take up her inquiries with the City of Angels." She knew then and there what she had to do. *But just for tonight I'll be happily surrounded by the people who love me.*
