Angel’s point of view…

She was a lost and lonely child
Looking for love and a second chance.
Once long ago I tried to help her
But was thwarted by circumstance.
She came again – an enemy.
A cry for help – disguised in pain.
Where once before I couldn’t get through.
I swear this time will not be in vain.
Then out of the blue – what she said hit me
And pain and sorrow rose up in my heart.
She said my love had found another
And now we truly are apart.
I held her close - to still the fear
And offered comfort from a friend.
But when my love saw us together
I knew this rift I could not mend.
We exchanged words of pain and anger
But to reason she would not give heed.
Her hate toward her sister slayer
Was etched on her face for all to read.
Then it was just us two together
And we kept on hurting each other so.
Until her anger and pain of betrayal
Resulted in a telling blow.
Then my fist struck back and hit her
And I was sorry straight away.
But knowing of her new lover
Had made me lash out at her that way.
Though again I tried to reason
But she wouldn’t listen to me.
And then we all ran out of time
Surrounded by hunters we did not see.
Now one lost and lonely child
Has found a way to find her peace.
A way to fight the inner demons.
A way for her pain to cease.
Now I am standing here with my love
And the words she speaks cause me pain.
She relishes telling me she knows and trusts him
And that she has found love again.
All I hear is she has moved on
And my anger comes to the fore.
I tell her to go on home
She doesn’t know me anymore.
So she walked away and I am left wanting
To run and take her in my embrace.
To whisper words of regret and of my love
And spread sweet kisses all over her face…
