"Greetings Warrior." Tow people said.

It was a male and a female. They were both golden and a shimmer-y blue. The female had golden curls that were piled upon her head, with few carelessly hanging around her face. The male had close cut hair that was also golden, but had a tint of red. Both of their eyes were ocean blue.

This place that they were in was white, castle-like, and almost heaven-like .

Buffy looked back at them and detected the faintest hint of amusement in their crystal clear eyes.

"Uh, hello." Buffy said with a small, uncertain wave.

"Do you know where you are, child?" The female asked with soft concern.

"Heaven?" Buffy asked, looking around again.

"No, of course not. We are the Oracles. Did you ever hear your Watcher speak of us?" The male asked impatiently.

Buffy shook her head. Giles had never said anything. But, she knew who they were. She didn't know how, but there was something tickling the back of her mind. She willed herself to remember, but came up with nothing but the image of Angel. Angel…

"We have a proposition for you, young Slayer, are you willing to listen?" The female asked.

"Yes." Buffy said, nodding slightly.

The female came closer and they walked around together.

The male looked over at them through narrowed eyes.

"Don't mind my brother. He doesn't like getting involved with humans. He doesn't really like humans much at all…" The female trailed off and then turned to Buffy again.

"You died for a reason, Slayer. Did you feel that your body has been getting weaker and slower over the last few months?" she asked, glancing at Buffy.

Buffy thought a minute. She did seem to heal slower and have delayed reflexes.

"Yes, I did, actually." Buffy admitted.

"Then it has started. You see, Slayers were not meant to live beyond 18. Their bodies are made different and programmed specially. As a Slayer grows older, their bodies start to shut down." The female stated.

"Why?" Buffy asked, very curious as of why she was so different.

"Think of it. If Slayers lived too long, they would old and slow, anyways. Their reactions would be slow and dangerous. Think of the number of demons that they wouldn't kill and how many more would survive to destroy this and many more dimensions." She explained.

"Oh, I see." Buffy answered, nodding.

"Yes, and now, onto the offer that The Powers That Be have for you." The female said, she waved her hand and a dark haired man stepped out in front of them. Buffy thought he was familiar, but she couldn't place him.

"Hello there, Slayer." He said, holding out his hand.

He had a pleasant Irish accent and friendly eyes.

"Hello, do I know you?" Buffy asked, trying to put a name to his familiar face.

"Yes, we met once, for a few moments, though. You're Buffy, Angel's girl." He stated.

"Doyle! Yes, I remember you." Buffy exclaimed.

"Yes, there you go." Doyle smiled with a wink.

"Alright, what about this offer or whatever?" Buffy asked, realizing that the women had left.

"The Powers That Be, they're the high horses in this whole deal. They have noticed your…er…passion for fighting and they realized that you are one of the strongest warriors. You can either go to rest, because they know you deserve it. Or you can go back." Doyle said.

"Go back?" Buffy asked, not quite understanding.

"Go back to your world. To your friends. To Angel." Doyle explained.

"I don't know." Buffy said, very confused.

"If you go back, you will help with the battle. You will also be immortal." The women said, returning with her brother.

"Immortal?" Buffy squeaked.

"Yes, immortal. You won't be killed easily." The male interrupted.

"So, I can't die?" Buffy asked.

"No, you can, just not easily. You would have to be decapitated to be killed. You will be able to sustain intense wounds, but only for so long before your body will need to regenerate. You will also have tremendous power." The male answered for her.

"Power?" Buffy asked.

"God, you're like an echo." Doyle smiled and winked at her again, "Yeah, power. Very dangerous, but good to have."

"Oh." Buffy said.

"If you choose to become immortal, we will have to send a message to your Watchers so they and the witch can revive you." Doyle said.

"Can I think about this?" Buffy asked.

"Yes, you may. Would you like to see your loved ones?" The female asked, sensing her distress.

"Yes, please." Buffy smiled.

The female waved her hands and Buffy found herself alone looking down o her friends. She saw Willow, Tara, Anya, and Xander laughing with Dawn. They looked so happy. Maybe they were better off without them. She saw the look in Dawn's eyes. There was sadness and emptiness in them. The same with Willow and Xander's eyes.

"What about Angel?" Buffy asked softly.

Suddenly, the scene changed and she saw Angel. He was fighting a demon violently. His face was a mask of rage. But his eyes… They lost the light they once held. Buffy watched as he killed the demon and stood there, silently . He then fell to his knees and had tears in his eyes.

"Buffy…. God, I miss you so much…" He whispered.

He whipped around to his feet and smashed his fist into the wall. He growled from loss and frustration. His pained roar echoed through the tall walls of the alley.

Buffy felt an ache in her chest. She missed Angel and she knew it was torture for him.

"He misses you." A voice from behind her said.

"I know." Buffy said, looking back and seeing Doyle.

"He needs you. Slowly, he's falling. All the good he's done… It'll go to waste if he keeps doing like he's doing." Doyle said, looking at his once friend.

"How long have I been…gone?" Buffy asked, not taking her eyes away from her love.

"There? Almost 4 months. He's gone after the demons that killed you. Tried to get info out of them, they wouldn't talk. He was confused at what you said." Doyle said, eyeing her.

/*"The battle…coming soon. Have to be ready."

"This isn't…the end. Never is. Fate…isn't done with us, yet."

"Fight. Don't forget."

"I'll never…forget."*/

All that came rushing back at Buffy.

"Well, in my defense, I was pumped full of drugs and delirious." Buffy said .

"Well, you knew what you were talking about. How *did* you know?" Doyle asked, with a smirk.

"I don't know. The demons said something to me, and a load of images came to me. I didn't know what half of them meant. I was just blurting things and stuff." Buffy said, with hesitance.

Doyle just nodded and smiled knowingly.

"So, have you made your decision darlin'?" Doyle asked.

Buffy thought for a moment, then asked.

"What about you?"

"Me? Well, I say here. Being a messenger."

Buffy thought then grabbed his hand. She led them both to the Oracles and stood in front of them.

"Alright. I have my decision, but I want to make an offer." Buffy said.

They looked at Doyle who shrugged.

"Go ahead, Slayer." The male said.

"Ok, I will go back and fight the battle, but I want Doyle to come with me. " Buffy stated and watched their reactions.

"That's impossible." The male said.

"Not its not. He can help me and retake the visions. Cordelia can't really stand them. He's needed." Buffy argued.

They looked at each other then they sighed.

"Fine. Take him with you." The male sighed and gestured to the ceiling.

"When will I go back?" I asked.

"For you, it will seem like moments, but down there, it will take a week or so."

The female told them, waving her hands.

Buffy felt nothing, but then, blackness surrounded her and she saw no more.
