Angelus is a powerful sorcerer before he is sired by the Master.
He only becomes more powerful when he is vamped.
He sires Darla and Spike who sires Drusilla.
Angelus dusts the Master and becomes so powerful that he can go long periods without eating, leading him to preferring virgins.
They end up in Sunnydale where Buffy is the current Slayer.
She was just called so she is pretty inexperienced.
Angelus can sense that she is virgin and he has to have her.
He kidnaps her one night when she is on her way to the Bronze and she is unable to properly fight him.
He tortures her for a good long while until turning her during her first time.
*He doesn't have to technically rape her. She could get into it.*
Buffy is an incredibly mean vamp and preys on Sunnydale, massacring all the people.

There being major competition between Buffy and Darla. Buffy “accidentally” dusts her and Angelus is really pissed. Hehe
