Buffy goes back in time to 1996 (I don’t know how, she just gets transported there by a Willow spell from the life where Angel’s left or before he left. You decide) and she reaches Angel before the Whistler. She helps him realize that living life like that was worthless. It doesn’t totally change the future, just twists it up.
Some of these things belong in this story:
Buffy changing Angel’s image. Cutting his hair, getting him new clothes with Angelus’ money, etc
The two falling in love and staying in New York until when Buffy graduates from high school
Angel training Buffy in the ways of the Slayer and Giles taking over when they move to Sunnydale
Should Angel be able to lose his soul?
Choose when they have sex. Can’t be on her seventeenth b-day, though. Later
Everything else happens, just in different time spots. Not all the demons, but stuff with the friends
Have fun and add any other things you want to

Angel and Buffy moving into an underground apartment in New York and acting like a couple
Angel crying in Buffy’s arms about his past
Buffy remembering everything before she went back (maybe she went back in Fourth Season?)
Faith moving to New York instead of Sunnydale after her Watcher dies
Faith and Buffy becoming great friends and Faith not turning evil
Whatever else!
No Kendra (Unless you want her to have moved to Sunnydale and then killed by Drusilla and then Faith is the Slayer.)
