SEIZE THE NIGHT (7/?)

Willow hated when Darla left her alone. Not that she minded being alone.
She didn't. But, she didn't like the master. Hadn't from the moment they
had met. She hated the feeling that he was watching and listening to
everything she did. She didn't trust him. She would be happy to see him
die.

She had been a vampire for three weeks now. Her only friend, Xander, had
no idea. She had written a run away note and packed some stuff so no one
would suspect. She knew she wasn't strong enough to face the slayer. The
girl that had been becoming her friend. She would wait until it was time
before she made her appearance.

She knew where Darla had gone. Had known when she had been told to
remain at the room. Darla had gone to see him, Angelus. Willow had found
herself intrigued by the tails of her brother and his deeds. His story
was tragic in some ways, in others it was rather justified. She knew
Darla missed him. She often spoke of the old days when she, Angelus,
William and Drusilla hunted and played together. Willow felt envious of
those pleasurable times. Now, it was just her and Darla in a den of
snakes. She didn't like any of the master's minions.

Willow stretched as she again wondered what had happened to make her
what she was. The master had seemed very surprised at her progress. She
felt the need for blood, but it wasn't very strong. Not in comparison to
the others. She did love the power though. The strength she now had was
worth dying to get. No longer would she be the weak one..the frail
one...the one people feared would get hurt. Now she was the one doing
the hurting. She loved that part of the game. The chase. It made her
blood flow and her heart race. It almost made her feel alive again.

She looked up as the door opened. Darla came into the room, a smile on
her face, "Why so sad Lovey?"

"Just thinking" Willow said. "Did you see him?"

Darla nodded, a far off look in her eyes, "Yes. He's still so handsome.
So stubborn. I told him about you...he was interested and a bit
jealous."

"Jealous? Of me?" Willow said, sitting up and putting her knee under her
chin.

"Yes of you lovey. He knows his place as my favorite is being
jeapordized. He doesn't like that....even if he hasn't truly been mine
for hundreds of years. It was always his place. Now, he has to share.
Angelus was never big on sharing affections."

"I'm one of your favorites?" Willow said, smiling at her sire.

"Yes silly. One of my very favorites." Darla said, ruffling the girl's
hair and smiling, "I gave him the warning. We'll see what he chooses to
do."

"Do you think he'll tell her?" Willow asked, refering to the slayer. She
was interested in meeting this brother of hers. Darla had piqued her
curiosity with all the stories of him.

"Yes. But, if it comes down to a decision, he'll choose me" Darla said.

"Are you sure?" Willow had to ask.

"Yes. He is still loyal to me, as I am to him. So, did you have fun this
evening?"

"I hate this place. The master watches me...I don't like it." Willow
said, making a face.

Darla stiffened, looking at her. "He watches you? How?"

"I don't know...." Willow said, "It's rather creepy."

"Fuck. He wants you. Damn him." Darla cursed. "I won't allow it."

"Wants? As in..." Willow shook her head, making a disgusted face.
"Yuck."

"Pack your bag. We're leaving" Darla said. Seeing Willow's look of
surprised, she sighed, "It wasn't what I planned, BUT I will not allow
him to ruin you. I have plans for you my lovey. They don't include being
beaten and raped by that bastard."

"Where will we go? He could come after us." Willow said, not wanting her
sire in any danger.

Darla thought a moment, "He won't come after us....I almost beat him
when I was alive. He's scared of me in many ways. We should be safe if I
tell him I want to teach you above ground. Well, it looks as if you
might be meeting your big brother sooner than I planned."

"We're going to stay with Angelus? Will he allow it?" Willow asked,
packing up her new clothes.

"I'm his sire. He won't have a choice. Besides, he wouldn't turn us
away. He might feel guilty" Darla spat out the last word, a reminder of
the terrible curse that had befallen her eldest. She looked at Willow
and knew the girl was curious, "Sorry, lovey. I just want to get you
away from the Master. He's not going to hurt you."

"Of course Mum. I trust you." Willow said, smiling. "Now, shouldn't you
pack too?"

Darla laughed, "Yes. I'll meet you here after dawn. We can leave while
the others sleep. There is a tunnel that runs to Angelus's apartment. We
can make it safely with no worries."

"See you at dawn, Mum" Willow said, finishing packing her bag as her
sire left. She felt herself pitying her brother. Poor Angelus. He really
had no option to turn them away...not matter how much he might want to.
She felt a shiver of anticipation at finally being able to meet the man
though. She wondered if he was as attractive as Darla had said. Knowing
her sire, probably more so. She began to hum softly as she finished
packing the bag. She couldn't wait to meet him.
