As Riley decided to engage Willow in a very slow, and quite one-sided
conversation about the meaning of life, Cordelia slipped away and
attempted to find Angel.  Willow was just about to suggest that she could
end Riley's struggle for the meaning of life by actually ending his life,
when she heard a scream.

She whirled around to find a terrified looking Xander in the clutches of
what she presumed to be the Chaos Demon.  For a moment Willow was
too shocked to react.  Xander was wearing a Batman costume but his
screaming revealed the fact that he wasn't an actual superhero.

Buffy began to advance on the Demon from behind, but as she got
within striking distance it spun around to face her, its grip on Xander
tightening.  Buffy was trying to think of a sarcastic quip to suit this
situation, before preparing to hit out at the Demon.

The Demon was getting quite bored with this waiting game, and seemed
to have decided that squeezing the life out of Xander was a good idea.
As Xander screamed for what appeared to be the last time, the Demon's
grip suddenly slackened, and both Xander and the Demon dropped to the
floor.  All eyes in the room were drawn to the unknown attacker.

It was Cat Woman.

"Anya?"  Buffy looked shocked.

"Well, he was messing with my boyfriend.  I'm the only one that Xander gets
out of breath for."  Anya stepped over the Demon and offered a hand to Xander.

"Well, you should have left it to me.  I'm the professional here."  Buffy was more
than a little annoyed that her role had been usurped.

"You and Angel."  Willow reminded her.

"Where is Angel?  Cordelia went to find him nearly a half-hour ago."

"Like I care."  Buffy looked like she cared very much.  "You go look.  I've got a
Demon to behead."

"Yeah.  Best do it before it wakes.  Don't want to snag your tights."  Anya offered
helpfully as Robin Hood moved over to Giles and the sword he had secreted about
his person.

Just then, Cordelia screamed.
