Spike never thought Willow would stick to her word so sternly. The
Scooby meeting went along without so much as a glance from his witch. {When
did I become such a bleedin' Nancy boy? Peaches would be impressed.}

I only see myself reflected in your eyes
So all that I believe I am essentially are lies
And everything I hope to be
Or ever thought I was
Died with your belief in me
So who the hell am I?

It was just a routine Scooby meeting to make sure all in Sunnydale
was of the norm. Okay, norm for the Hellmouth. Willow was typing away on the
keyboard to her laptop.  Buffy, Anya, Xander, and Giles were all looking
through the usual thick, dusty books. Spike was absently leafing through the
book he had, not really paying attention to it. His eyes were on Willow.
{How could I have been so bloody stupid? What made me think that she would
ever try to hurt me?}
His eyes wandered the room long enough to see Xander giving him a
warning look. He growled at the carpenter, which made everyone else look up.
"Is something wrong, Spike?" Giles asked in an annoyed voice.
"You mean besides the obvious, Watcher?"
"Listen, Fangless," Buffy started.  "Don't start any trouble,
because we don't need it right now."
"Oh shut up, Slutty.  This doesn't concern you." Spike replied.
"Well, exactly who does it concern?" Xander asked, knowingly.
"None of your business, Whelp. Now lay off."
Willow never looked up from her computer.  Xander noticed this, as
well. At first he thought it was just Spike. But now, he wasn't so sure.

I'm wandering 'round confused
Wondering why I try
The more that you deny my pain
The more it intensifies
I pray for someone to ache for me
The way I ache for you
If you ignore that I'm alive
I've nothing to cling to

"Guys, I'm starving." Anya said closing the book she was reading.
"Hey, me too." Buffy concurred.
"So, who wants to go pick up food?" Xander asked as he leaned back
in his chair.
"I'll go." Willow volunteered. Spike looked up when he heard her
voice. He had been lost in thought over the last time they were together.
Gods, he missed her. She stood and walked to her jacket. "What does everyone
want?"
"Well for starters," Buffy said. "You to have an escort."
"Spike, do you mind?" Giles asked.
"It's not like I have a choice." The vampire said in his usual
drawl.
"Actually, you do." Willow said. "You can say no. See. Problem
solved." She turned to open the door. Buffy glared at Spike.
"And have the slayer stake me? Not bloody likely." Spike replied
getting up and grabbing his duster.
"Just bring an assortment of food, Wills." Xander called out.
Willow was already out side walking.
"This wasn't my fault, Red." He said as he caught up to her.
"No, Spike." Willow said as she turned to look at him, her green
eyes cold. "It's never your fault." She began to walk faster.

I stare into this mirror
So tired of this life
If only you would speak to me
Or care if I'm alive
Once I swore I would die for you
But I never meant like this
No, I never meant like this

He loved her. He never thought he would fall so hard. How was he
going to show her that she meant the world to him? He needed her. He stopped
at that realization.
"Spike, I don't plan on being out in the dark on the Hellmouth any
longer than I have to." Willow said, interrupting his thoughts.
"Sorry Luv," Spike replied. "I was deep in thought." He eyed her up
and down. The redhead blushed, and remembered why she couldn't just jump the
sexy vampire and ride him until he passed out from exhaustion.
"Apology accepted." Willow replied as ambivalent as she could
possibly sound in his presence. "Now let's move." She began to walk again.
Spike watched her walk away with a smile. He was getting to her.
This was a good sign. {I can't lose you, Willow. I won't}
He once again started the trek with her to get the Scoobies some
food.

I don't know if I am real without you
What is left for me without you?
I don't know what's real without you
How can I exist without you?
