Part One
Spike was wandering through one of Sunnydale's local cemetaries, like
the good little demon he was, when he heard the sounds
of fighting. He rounded a corner to find a vampire trying to
attack
a woman. The woman was obviously a witch. She was
protecting herself using magick. And she was doing it well until
another vampire grabbed her from behind, and sank his fangs
into her neck.
Being in a good moon, Spike decided to help the young woman. She
reminded of someone he loved.
"I'm all for a good fight, but this. What the bloody hell is this?
That's the problem with the youngs ones these days. They
haven't learned that the thrill of the chase is worth more than the
kill. And attacking in pairs, well, that just cuts back on the
amount of fun one can have."
"The traitor. What do you want?"
"Well, I was going to just watch, but then you had to gang up on 'er.
Just can't have that happening."
"Now we'll gang up on you."
With that, a group of about 10 vampires walked out.
Spike tried his best to fight them off, but they were too many.
The
gang of vampires decided just to leave Spike, helpless on the
ground. With luck, he'd be there when the sun rose.
But their luck ran out.
"Oh, gods." The woman said, feeling her way over to Spike. Once she
could feel his body, she said, "I ask that this man be
healed. He risked his life unknowing. Apollo, I call on
thee.
Apollo, heal this man so he may help again."
With a glitter of gold, Apollo stood before the woman and Spike's
unconscious body. "Hey, Alegra. I was trying to catch
some rays when you rang. What's up?"
Part Two
"This man. He risked his life and now, I think he's dying."
"Okay, chica. For starters, he's not a man. He's a demon.
Second,
he's already dead. And third, I'm not the god to call on
for this dude."
"Who then? Hades?"
"Try his wife."
"Persephone?"
"Alter-ego."
"Of course. Hecate. Thanks Apollo."
"No problem. We done?"
"Yes." The god disappeared with the same glitter of gold.
"Hecate,
could you help me?"
The goddes walked up behind Alegra. "I'll help you to safety.
That's all I can do."
"Oh, thank you goddess."
"Do you know his name?"
"The others. The ones who did this, they called him, 'the traitor.'"
"Oh, I've heard of this one. He kills demons. Helping the
good
fight."
"Will you help him?"
"Of course. He's a hottie. Even with the demon out.
Not many can
say that." Hecate snapped her fingers and three women,
immortals, appeared. "Ally, be sure that you get him to safety."
"Mistress, he lives in a crypt." Alecto replied.
"Can you take him anywhere else?"
"The rebel Slayer's watcher." Tisiphone said.
"What, Tis?"
"The rebel Slayer's watcher. He trusts him."
"Fine. Take him there, and take Alegra as well."
"Yes Mistress." The three Furies chimed together.
*****
"Giles, someone's at the door." Buffy yelled from her position
on
the couch.
"Willow, could you get that for me?" Giles asked.
"Sure." Willow stood, marked the page in the book she and Tara
were
reading.
Upon opening the door, all Willow saw was a quick flash, then a woman
with short red hair was on the ground, crouched next
to what looked like Spike in 'grr' mode. "Um, Xander. Help."
She
yelled then asked, "Who are you?"
"My name is Alegra. Do you know him?" Alegra said, looking
up at
where she assumed Willow's face was.
"Yes. That's Spike. What happened?"
"He saved my life, but whatever he fought, got the better of him."
"Did they look like he does now?"
The woman looked down, then said, "I don't know. I'm blind."
"Oh, here, let me help you inside. We'll get you comfortable and
some food then we'll talk. Okay?"
"Yes." She stood and Willow guided her to a chair.
Xander and Giles carried Spike in and placed him on the couch.
"He needs blood. Giles, get something for Alegra, I'll get Spike."
Willow heated blood, and waved the mug by Spike's nose. It twitched.
Then the eyes opened, and Spike grabbed the mug
from Willow's hands, devouring its contents. He held the mug
at his
lips as he growled. Willow smacked his forehead while
saying, "I'm not scared of you, so stop your growling."
Spike snapped out of his daze and pushed his human mask forward.
"Sorry pet."
"It's okay. Don't let it happen again." Willow and Spike
had become
friends. They talked to each other, and got along.
Willow got the idea that Spike wanted to go a little further, but she
didn't say anything. She loved Tara. At least that's what
she
told herself every night before she went to sleep to dream dreams of
Spike.
