ANSWERS

"I want some answers" Buffy demanded.

She saw Giles and Xander look at her.

"What? She's been gone over four years and suddenly reappears just in time to help fight some bad ass vamp. There is more to her story."

"What story?" Xander said. "She hasn't told us anything."

Spike came into the room. "Why don't you just accept the help and forget that pointless need for answers?"

Angel looked at his childe. "Why are you here Spike? Where is Dru? Why are you with Willow?"

Spike ignored his sire. It wasn't his place to say anything about Willow to them. He didn't even like them.

"Spike, as your sire, I demand answers."

"Bloody Hell....as my sire? So, you are using your right for this? What a joke. What concerns you more, my being here at all or my being with Willow?"

Angel felt a rush of anger at Spike's words. "SPIKE! Answer me."

Spike looked at Buffy. "You notice he never answered that question?" he looked away. By rights, he had to do as his sire demanded. He refused to discuss Willow, but he would have to answer the other ones. "Dru is dead."

"What?" Angel sat back down, surprised that he hadn't been able to tell. "When?"

"About four years ago. Not long after we left this place."

"How?" Buffy asked.

"Long story."

"Spike." Angel warned.

Spike looked at them, "I'm with Willow because she needs me...I love her, dumb bastard that I am."

Angel heard the sincerity in Spike's voice. His childe loved the redhead. That was an interesting development.

"How did Dru die?" Xander repeated the earlier question.

Spike's eyes hardened and turned even colder. He said a name through clenched teeth. "Damien"
