Willow stood there stunned for a moment. Spike had just kissed her! Then he left. Why did he leave? Taking a deep breath, she turned around and walked back into the main room. The first person she saw was Spike. Their eyes locked on each other. Taking another deep breath, she walked over to the computer, passing by Angel and Spike.

"What happened?" Angel asked his grandchilde.

"Don't know what you're talking about, Peaches."

"So you wouldn't mind if I had a go at Willow?"

"Think about it and I dust you," Spike growled.

"Is the boy in love?"

"Don't you have some bloody work to do?" Spike turned around and sat on the couch, leafing through a book.

Hours passed and the silence was deafening. The slightest sound would echo through the walls of the mansion. Angel watched the scene in front of him. Willow stayed at her computer and Spike glanced through the same book for hours. It stayed that way until almost sundown.

A couple minutes before sunset, Spike slammed the book shut, throwing it on the table and left without saying a word. He missed the frown that covered Willow's face.

She figured that he would have tried to talk to her. Willow came to the conclusion that he regretted what happened. Regretted her. It was then that Angel's voice pulled her out of her thoughts.

"You're thinking about him again," he stated.

She turned her head to look at him. "Him who?" she asked innocently.

"Spike. It's a waste of your thoughts. I'm going out to patrol. Do you want to come with?"

Willow shook her head quickly. "No. I think I'll just stay here. Thanks for the offer though." She watched Angel grab a couple of stakes and head out. The others had joined him and Spike was.she didn't know where Spike was. Grabbing the book he had been reading all afternoon, she sat on the couch facing away from the door.

Spike came back about an hour after sundown. He noticed Willow on the couch but didn't see anyone else. "Red," he called out.

"Hey," she replied without looking back at him.

"Where is everyone? They leave you by yourself."

"They went on patrol. I wanted to stay here. You think you could give me an address of a club around here? I want to go out."

"I could go with you," he offered.

"Not necessary."

Spike walked quietly behind her and placed his arms around her shoulders. In one of his hands he was holding a white rose. "Thought maybe we could stay in. Order a pizza. Maybe watch an old movie." When she didn't say anything, he became nervous but would not give up. Not on her. Walking around to the front of the couch, he bent down on one knee to balance himself. "I don't regret the kiss, luv," he whispered softly. "But I do regret pushing you away. I want to be around you so much that I find myself not knowing what to say."

"So.you'd.uh.kiss me again?"

"If that's what you wanted."

That was all Willow had to hear. She took the rose from Spike and placed it on the table in front of her. She then took his hand and pulled as hard as she could until he tumbled down on top of her.

Spike was confused. He had assumed that she would regret what had happened in the kitchen. "Willow?"

"Just kiss me again."

With that one statement, he lightly brushed his lips across hers. He pulled back. "You didn't like my rose?"

"I like you better," she told Spike.
