Xander had left the hospital in the hunt of his blond best friend. Xander knew she would probably go home, being upset sometimes led people back home. An hour later Xander found Buffy sitting out back of her mother's house.
"Hey, Buff. Is your mom home?" Xander asked calmly.
"No, she's out of town right now. How's it going Xan?" She asked.
"Can we go inside and talk?" He asked.
"Sure, No problem." She turned her back on him and expected to follow her back inside.
The moment the door closed behind Xander, the unexpected happened. Xander grabbed her around the throat and slammed her into the wall next to the backdoor. Buffy's eyes widened at the site in Xander's eyes, it was something she hadn't seen since he was possesed by the Hyena spirit.
"What did I tell you when Willow was taken by the Master?" He growled.
"Griggle" Buffy made a sound when she tired to speak.
" I believe it was if anything happened to her I would kill you. Luck for you after all that has happened before that I haven't alread killed you." He contiued to growl as he squizzed her neck thighter.
Buffy was shock, and couldn't understand what was wrong with Xander. She knew that she'd fought with Will but really what did she do so bad. The she remember the punch and her eyes lowered.
"I see you finally realized why I'm here like this. See of all the things that have happen lately I realized with Oz leaving I had pulled away and been a bad friend. That girl has always been there for me and now it's my chance." He continued in harsh whisper.
"You ever touch her again, and they won't find the body slayer. She's leaving with him, but I am staying here, so suck it up. The only reason you've made it this long has been because you have friends, even Angelus understood that. You'd better start." Xander said and then dropped her on the floor.
Stepping over her and opening the back door as Buffy coughed trying to catch her breath.
"Remember what I told you." He said walking out the door leaving it open for all to see.
Hours later Joyce returned home to a hysterical daughter telling her about what has been happening lately.
Even her mother was pissed after she'd told her what had happened, and said she agreed with Xander. Now she really didn't know what to do.
