Oz hadn’t come back to the hotel and Faith was starting to worry.
Oz had been like her rock since she’d been released from prison. Growing
inpatient she finally decided to contact Giles.
Giles opened the door to find a worried looking Faith.
“Faith, do come in. What is wrong?” Giles asked moving aside to allow her in.
“Oz, do you know where he is?” She asked rushed.
“No, he left her with Buffy last night for patrol.” He explained.
“He didn’t come back to the hotel last night. Have you talked to B since?” Faith asked.
“No, but we can call and see what happened.” Giles told her moving to the phone and dialing Buffy’s number.
It rang a few times before Buffy finally answered. He questioned
her about Oz’s disappearance. Buffy however neglected to tell him about
Oz telling her where he was going; she told him that she didn’t know. Giles
knew something wasn’t right but he couldn’t put his finger on it.
Oz pulled his van up to the hotel where he and Faith were staying
later that night. He still could not believe what he’d nearly done to Willow
again. His control of the wolf slipped again last night. He called his
council contact when he entered his room and told him about the slip. They
decided it was best that Giles become Faith’s watcher and that Oz return
for more training that he obviously needed to control his wolf. Now he
just needed to find Faith and Giles and explain what was going on. He also
needed to convince Giles to rejoin the council.
Giles and Faith continued to make calls and hunting for Oz before
a knock on the door alerted them both. Answering the door they were relieved
to see Oz on the other side.
“Oz, Thank God. Where have you been?” Faith asked rushing towards him.
“I did some things that I shouldn’t have and now I need to talk with you both.” He said stepping into the apartment and shutting the door.
“Alright, Oz why don’t you have a seat and tell us what is going on.” Giles said moving to have a seat himself.
Sitting down Oz told an extremely edited version of an explanation
of what had happened the night before. Oz was trying so hard to avoid Giles’
Ripper side, he was still glad showing up like he had he still hadn’t seen
him.
Giles agreed if Faith wanted to becoming her watcher. Faith however
knew Oz wasn’t saying something and was pissed but could deal with it as
long as Oz got help.
Oz left that night and Buffy arrived an hour later to find Faith
there and fainted from shock.
“Can you believe this?” Faith asked Giles as they both began to laugh.
