Cordelia and Willow burst through the front door giggling uncontrollably. Cordy managed to shut the door behind them and then they both collapsed onto Willow’s bed.
“Did you see the looks on their faces?” Willow asked. Cordelia nodded still laughing. Willow peeked out her door. “We have to change before they get back"
“Oh yeah you’re right.” Cordy said dreamily. She walked to her room and returned ten minutes later wearing an oversized tee shirt. Willow had found her green tank top and a pair of sweats.
“Think they’ll kill us?” Willow asked. Cordy shook her head.
“No way. They’ll walk in and try to get us to talk.” She said knowingly. Willow giggled.
“Then I say we’re asleep.” She said. Cordy nodded. They both jumped under Willow’s covers like a couple of six-year olds and turned out the lights just as the front door opened.
“The bloody light was on two seconds ago.” Spike said outside of Willow’s door. The girls suppressed giggles.
“We can’t just barge in. If they are asleep then they’ll kill us.” Angel argued.
“I don’t see why. They started it.” Spike grumbled. Willow blushed thinking of what Spike must look like. Then the voices faded from the door.
“Spike you need to learn how to handle girls.” Angel explained as they sat in the kitchen.
“Oh and you are doing so well.” Spike pointed out.
“Better then you.” Angel replied.
“Oh yeah well then why is the prom queen in that room instead of yours?” Spike asked raising his eyebrows. Angel sighed.
“Well I don’t see you with Willow.” Spike was suddenly silent. Angel knew that look. “You really like her don’t you?” Angel asked. Spike shrugged.
“Just another chit.” He said trying to convince himself as much as Angel. His sire didn’t buy it.
“And Delia is just another secretary.” He muttered. The vampires lost themselves to their own thoughts thinking about the girls just on the other side of a door.
Willow twirled in the mirror once more. She was still in shock.
“You look great.” Cordelia said for the tenth time. Willow smiled.
“Thanks.” She said quietly. She was wearing a green silk dress that was cut mid-thigh and was cut just low enough so that Willow didn’t blush too much. There was a small slit on the left side that Willow repeatedly tried to hide with her hand. Cordelia gently slapped her hand away.
“Stop! If you keep doing that no one will see your legs.” She said. Willow turned red.
“I don’t want anyone to see that much leg.” She argued. Cordy smiled.
“Trust me you look fine.” She assured the red head. Willow took a deep breath.
“So what are you planning for tonight?” Willow inquired. Cordelia smiled coyly.
“Just a quiet night in the house with movies.” She said quietly. Willow smiled.
“Sure. No smoochies involved at all huh?” Willow asked. Cordelia sighed.
“Now I wouldn’t go that far!” She exclaimed. Willow gave her friend a smile.
“Well good luck.” She took another deep breath and headed for her bedroom door. “Here goes nothing.”
“Good luck.” Cordy wished. Willow gave her one last smile and headed out the door. Willow walked into the kitchen and grabbed her purse off the table. I guess I’ll wait in the living room, She thought. As soon as she walked in she realized her mistake.
“Oh Spike, hi.” She said once again trying to make her skirt longer. The usually cocky vampire seemed to be at a loss for words.
“Red... you look great” He finally said. Willow smiled.
“Thanks.” She said.
“Planning something special?” Spike asked. Willow shrugged.
“I was just going to go out with one of those guys Cordy and I met last night.” She said casually.
“You’re what?” He practically yelled. Willow was surprised at his reaction.
“Yeah.” She said. He regained his usual cockiness.
“I don’t see why.” He said. Willow rolled her eyes.
“Maybe because he likes me?” Willow asked. Spike didn’t say anything. *Damned bloody bastard is going out with my red* he thought angrily. Then he realized she really didn’t know she was his. Could be a problem mate, he thought. Willow looked through her bag. The doorbell rang. “I have to get something can you answer that?” She asked. He sighed.
“Sure pet.” She walked into her room and he opened up the door. Some blonde LA jerk looked at him. A plan formed in Spike’s mind.
“Hey dude, is Willow here?” He asked. Spike smiled.
“Yeah dude.” Spike mocked. But the kid was too dense to note the sarcasm.
“Cool.” The blond said. Spike grabbed him by the collar.
“If she comes back with so much as a scratch, by yourself a coffin.” Spike growled. The kid struggled vainly out of his grasp.
“Hey man it’s just a little date. You know fun on the beach and all that. I’m just gonna show the girl a good time.” The guy said lightly. A little too lightly for Spike’s taste.
“I don’t think I like you idea of a good time. Maybe I’ll just kill you now to save myself some trouble later.” His eyes flashed yellow. The kid looked scared.
“You know what dude, tell her I had to do something. Too much for me man.” Spike released the kid and the blonde stumbled backwards and ran the other way. Spike smiled to himself and turned to meet a very angry pair of green eyes.
“You asshole!” Willow fumed. Spike’s smiled vanished.
“Red I was just trying…”
“I don’t care what you were doing! You bloody bastard!” She screamed.
“That’s my word pet.” He said trying to lighten her up. She didn’t look very lightened.
“Shut the hell up!” She exclaimed. She slapped him across the face and stormed out the door. He touched his stinging face.
“Bloody hell.” He muttered. “Damn fiery chit.” He tried to justify himself but couldn’t shake the guilty feeling he had. “I’m a bloody idiot.” He said. Then he grabbed his duster and decided to go after ‘his’ girl.
