Entering new Depths

By Mys

//I don't want another heartbreak//
//I don't need another turn to cry//

Xander traced the tip of his tongue over his bottom lip as if to catch the last hints of the ever present taste of alcohol and menthol that seemed to radiate from Spike.

His thoughts stumbled over each other, taunting him.

*How should this, whatever it is, work out? What do I want from Spike? What does he want from me? Is there *any* way that the girls will understand? …and why am I thinking while I could be kissing him again right now?*

//I don't want to learn the hard way//
//Baby, hello, oh, no, goodbye//

Spike didn't open his eyes. He waited for the rejection he had prepared himself for. Waited for the protest. Waited for… well, *anything* coming from Xander.

Maybe Spike had read the signs wrong. Maybe Xander had really been just nice to him. Or maybe he had read them right. Maybe Xander was shocked into speechlessness. Or maybe he was just as astounded and pleased as Spike.

^^And maybe I should just open my eyes and see what's going on, right?^^

//But you got me like a rocket//
//Shooting straight across the sky//

"So…"

Brown eyes flickered around the room before looking into blue ones.

^^And maybe we can do some more of this…^^

Spike had tried to fight the stupid smile down that had forced itself on his face, but he felt the corners of his mouth twitch and when Xander rewarded him with a grin of his own he gave into it.

"Can we do that again?"

The small waver in Xander's voice made Spike give him a warm, reassuring smile before he leered at him, wiggling his eyebrows.

//It's the way you love me//
//It's a feeling like this//

Xander felt his heart make another uncontrolled jump at the things those eyes promised.

"Lots and lots where that came from."

Spike leaned forward and brushed his lips once again against Xander's.

It started out as chaste as their first kiss and Xander felt his insides turn to goo once again.

*How often can that happen before my organs stop working? And what…ohh*

Spike traced, with the tip of his tongue, lightly along Xander's bottom lip mirroring the youth's action from before. Xander enjoyed the soft, wet sensation for a few seconds before he parted his lips.

//It's centrifugal motion//
//It's perpetual bliss//

Spike hesitated a moment, then slowly grazed tickling over the inside of Xander's upper lip, licked over blunt human teeth before nudging the tip of Xander's tongue with his own.

The world was spinning. The basement was spinning.

*Or maybe that's just me?*

With one hand Xander was still holding Spikes and he didn't want to let go of it but using the other hand would mean Xander would have to turn around to be face to face with Spike. The thought wasn't that bad, not at all, but as they were still sitting on the bed, legs dangling lazily over the edge of the mattress that would mean he would have to either kneel or put his legs between him and the vampire.

Both would require parting their lips and he did *so* not want to do that just to bring more things, like useless limps, between their bodies.

He didn't bother long with this problems though cause all coherent thoughts seemed to stop when he felt Spike's tongue tentatively touch his own.
Up to that moment Xander had been rather reserved and had just gone along with the blond's performance, but now he wanted to explore the vampire's mouth on his own. Their tongues entangled in a battle for dominance which neither of them was willing to lose and the kiss became harder, more desperate and needy.

//It's that pivotal moment//
//It's impossible//

Xander wanted to touch the lean body in front of him. Wanted to feel more of Spike than just his mouth, wanted to reassure himself that the blond really was there so he lifted his arm, still holding Spike's hand and broke the kiss for a second as he looped his arm around Spike's neck, just to crush their mouths even harder together.

Spike's arm was now draped over his own chest and their hands rested on the blond's right shoulder.

//This kiss, this kiss. Unstoppable//
//This kiss, this kiss//

Xander ended up in a rather odd angle, feet still on the floor, body twisted around, hips halfway raised from the bed as he leaned even closer to Spike, but he didn't care. There was no way he was going to end this kiss.

Spike started to purr into the kiss as Xander used the thumb of the hand on Spikes shoulder to stroke the hair just over the nape of the vampire's neck.
Xander took a few seconds to ask himself if it was technically possible to kiss and purr at the same time but as the sound increased and he felt the vibration of it tickling along his own lips as if he was buzzing, he decided that he *really* didn't care.

//This kiss, this kiss. Unstoppable//
//This kiss, this kiss//

The last thing Xander noticed was that Spike's hair was soft and velvet over the nape of his neck where he didn't gel it and he wondered if he could convince Spike to let it grow out a bit and stop with the slicking it back. Then he passed out.

//Cinderella said to Snow White//
//How does love get so off course//

"Pet, you awake?"

Xander felt like he would crash down on the floor if he didn't find something to sit down on.

Then he noticed that he was already lying flat on the bed. He groaned.

He peered up at Spike who was hovering over him, a frown between his eyebrows that made Xander fidgety and if he hadn't felt so bad, he would have reached up to tug the blond's head down and kiss the frown. However, as he tried to do so, the basement once again started to spin. And this time it definitely *did* spin.

Xander let his head sink back down into the pillow which he noticed was neatly placed in his neck to stabilize his head. He closed his eyes and concentrated on hiding a smile and the happy tune his voice got while thinking of Spike taking care of him, as he asked: "What happened?"

"I… kinda forgot that you need to breathe?"

He once again managed to open his eyes again and glared at the vampire. Or, he hoped, that he was glaring. On the one hand he was still kinda dizzy, on the other hand he was still surprised about the concern he saw in those blue eyes and the warm feeling that spread in his belly when he thought about it.

The glare must have worked cause Spike looked slightly sorry.

*Which is stupid cause he's a vampire and they just aren't sorry.*

Spike confirmed this theory only a few seconds later as he frowned again and then glared back at Xander.

"What?" Xander even managed to sound uninterested.

"Well, *you* didn't remember it, either!"

Spike nodded shortly as if to congratulate himself for the witty discovery, then got up and walked over to the fridge.

//All I wanted was a white knight//
//With a good heart, soft touch, fast horse//

Xander remained lying on his back, staring up at the ceiling.

*Alright, they always told me, I'm a demon magnet. But no one ever told me that it was meant *that* way. I wonder what Buffy would say…*

He winced.

*No, *so* not going there. I mean, it's not that she would be shocked about the being-bi-part. It's not like I've never let it slip into discussion before.
Ok, she never took it seriously, no one did, but that's not my fault, right?*

Xander turned his head to see Spike bent over the fridge, thoughtfully shaking his head.

He growled and let his head fall back.

*Not just a man. Not just a demon. Spike out of all people…demon… whatever! Couldn't I just find a nice, normal guy? Not only is Spike a vicious killer… or had been, and is going to be again but also someone who might kill me, just because he forgets that I need to breathe.*

Xander couldn't help but snicker at the thought and Spike growled in his direction.

*How did I manage to get involved with someone like him?*

Xander stared blindly at the ceiling before he focused on the crack that was there. He blinked a few tears away as he remembered the events which had led to this situation.

*That had only been yesterday and it seems like forever.*

"Drink that, pet."

"Huh?"

Xander pushed himself into a sitting position and eyed the mug Spike had handed him.

"Why?"

"Cause you passed out." Spike answered, matter-of-factly.

Xander looked at Spike, who looked away and shrugged.

"Your point being…?"

"I remember that things like that happen if you lack sugar or liquid and cause you only have milk in your fridge I took that."

"And filled sugar in it?" Xander asked.

Spike shrugged again.

"You know what also causes passing out?" Spike looked at him, waiting. "Lack of air!"

*Did he just blush? Can vampires even blush?*

Xander blinked at Spike. He wasn't quite sure but he would have bet that he saw Spike flinch, just a little, before the vampire flipped him off with a dismissing gesture of his hand.

*He really *is* serious about that. He thinks it's his fault.*

"You're sorry?"

Spike snorted and turned his back on Xander who used the moment to put the suspicious looking liquid onto the bedside table and grabbed for Spike's hand.

"You wish! As if it was my fault that you couldn't remember how to use those body functions of yours and what about - hey!"

As Xander tugged on Spikes hand, the vampire spun around, fell onto the bed and thudded next to Xander who had changed from sitting to kneeling next to Spike and was now leaning over him.

Blue eyes blinked up at him, a bit dizzy cause of the sudden change of position and the look on Spike's face sent a tingle straight to Xanders groin.
*Well, maybe not *so* straight… ok, even I came up with better jokes before, but it's hard to think with no blood your brain could use.*

"Spike?" He chirped sweetly. "Shut up."

Then he dove down for another kiss.

//Ride me off into the sunset//
//Baby, I'm forever yours//

Spike moaned and Xander smiled into the kiss.

*Me? Complaining? About demons? Vampires? *Spike?* Nope, not that I know of…*

//It's the way you love me//
//It's a feeling like this//

Spike reached up and threaded a hand through Xander's thick, soft hair before putting an arm across Xander's back and tugging the brunette down.
Xander, who had steadied himself with his hands placed on either side of the blond's head, lowered onto his forearms, draping himself half next to Spike, half on top of him.

//It's centrifugal motion//
//It's perpetual bliss//

Xander tilted his head slightly sideward to get a better angle and to not bump Spike's nose as the kiss once again started to become more urgent. He tickled the smaller man's lips with tentative strokes of his tongue and with another moan Spike brought his own tongue into play.

//It's that pivotal moment//
//It's unthinkable//

Spike grasped the back of Xander's shirt and pulled the brunette up and away from him. Xander was panting and made a needy sound because of the sudden loss, as Spike's mouth was finally out of reach.

Spike smiled and let go of Xander who looked doubtfully down at him.

"Pet, remember to breathe, or you're going to pass out again."

"Don't care!"

With a mischievious smile Xander leaned down and brought their lips back together again.

//This kiss, this kiss unsinkable//
//This kiss, this kiss//

---

//You can kiss me in the moonlight//
//On the rooftop under the sky//

"Wow."

"Yeah, I thought about saying something similar, pet."

They lay panting next to each other on Xander's bed and looked up at the ceiling. Spike sighed.

"What time is it?"

Xander turned his head but couldn't quite make out in which direction his clock was.

"Night?"

"Hm-mh."

They remained silent for a moment before Xander turned his head to look at Spike.

"What day is it?"

Spike frowned and looked as if he was thinking hard about it.

"Weekend?" he asked, snickering.

//You can kiss me with the windows open//
//While the rain comes pouring inside//

"The sun gone down yet?"

"Mh-hm" Spike hummed again, sounding affirmative.

"So.. you're going out to kill something?"

"Might do that, yeah…."

Xander looked back up at the ceiling and it was again silent for a few moments, before Spike tilted his head to look at the youth.

"You're going out to meet your friends?"

"Yeah, might do that…"

//Kiss me in slow motion//
//let's let every thing slide//

As Xander turned his head again to watch Spike, Spike was still watching *him*.

Their eyes met and Xander unconsciously licked his lips. Spike watched the action and had to tear his eyes away to not dive forward and snap Xander's tongue with his lips.

//You got me floating, you got me flying.//

"You know, I don't really feel like killing today…"

The blond turned on his side, his hand propped up on his left hand, the other stroking over Xander's arm.

"They won't miss me, will they?" Xander grinned and Spike shook his head, smiling.

"You know, luv." Spike inched closer. "I'm evil." His forehead was leaning against Xander's, as he whispered against his lips. "I don't care, if they do. But I know that I will, so you're not going."

Xander grinned even wider as he pulled Spike down on top of him, once again sinking into oblivion just by kissing his vampire.

//It's the way you love me//
//It's a feeling like this//
//It's centrifugal motion//
//It's perpetual bliss//

//This kiss//
//This kiss//
