Chapter 11
For the next few days things had been very quiet. Spike hadn't called her at all. Giles had put more hours in at the library while Willow and Buffy were buried under books, cramming for up coming finals.
Willow and Oz had finally got back together and Oz was definitely being more attentive by calling her once a day just to say he loved her.
Buffy tried hard to concentrate on the books in front of her but her mind continued to wander to Spike.
Wondering what he was afraid to tell her. He sounded so lost by the end of the phone call a few days prior. He also sounded scared and agitated. She was a little afraid of what he was holding back from her, but she knew when he was ready he would tell her.
"That answer is wrong." Willow said as she glanced at Buffy's paper.
"What? Oh." Buffy said as she shook her thoughts away and grabbed another sheet of paper.
"What's going on Buffy? You've been pretty distant lately."Willow said as her brows scrunched together.
"Oh nothing, just worried about finals. You know how I get around this time of year." Buffy said quickly.
"Are you sure that's all it is?" Willow prodded.
"Yeah, positive Will. I'm fine." Buffy replied.
"Okay." Willow said but knowing different.
Willow went back to her work and Buffy worked harder to concentrate trying to Black thoughts of Spike from her mind........and failing miserably at it.
"I haven't heard from him in a few days. Not since I told him how I feel." Buffy said casting her eyes downward.
"Oh.......well I'm sure he's just been busy Buffy. You know with school and the band, maybe he doesn't have much time right now." Willow said reassuringly.
"Yeah, maybe you're right. But he always made time before." Buffy replied.
"Maybe it's different now. They probably have alot of meetings with their producer, planning their record and all. That could take up alot of time." Willow replied.
"I guess I hadn't thought about it that way." Buffy replied feeling a little better.
"He'll call, don't worry." Willow said with a smile.
Buffy smiled back with a nod.

Spike laid on his bed and stared at the ceiling. He was terrified. How was he going to tell her something like this and have her still want to be with him. Would she pity him.....or would she be ashamed of him. He closed his eyes as a tear slipped from the corner of his eye, tracing a path on his skin, falling to the pillow.
He'd had a hard time covering his fears since coming here. When they would get bad he would usually retreat to his room until he had himself under control.
He looked up when he heard a light tap on the door.
"Yeah." He said quietly as he stiffened slightly when Joyce came into the room.
"We'll be leaving in about ten minutes. Are you sure you don't want to come along? I'll buy lunch." Joyce said smiling.
"No I'm fine thanks. Have a good time." Spike replied with a smile.
"Okay, make sure you eat something. There's some left overs in the fridge." Joyce said as she backed out of the room and closed the door behind her.
Spike relaxed and went back to looking at the ceiling.
God he hated feeling this way. He knew she wasn't like her, but sometimes his fears got the better of him and he couldn't calm them.
When he started feeling this way just after he came to Sunnydale he should have called his dad. But he wanted to handle it on his own, thought he could do it himself.
But it was getting harder. He had flashbacks more often and was having a difficult time of covering them up.
If it hadn't been for Angel covering for him, he wasn't sure what might of happened.
Spike looked up when he heard someone come into the room.
"Spike are you alright?" Angel asked quietly. "Do yo want me to stay or
call Uncle Rupert?"
"No thanks. I'm okay Angel. Really. I just need some time." Spike replied.
"It's happening again isn't it." Angel said.
Spike just nodded.
"You should call him." Angel replied.
Spike shook his head. "No, I'll be fine."
"No you won't Spike. It started since we came here. I noticed it and I can see it getting worse. You know why it's happening." Angel stated.
Spike just closed his eyes.
"She's noticed it Spike. You hid it very well in the beginning, she didn't see it like I did. But she's noticed the way you try and pull back from her more frequently now. She's worried about you. So am I." Angel said.
"It has nothing to do with her. She's a good person and I care about her." Spike replied.
"Yes she is a good person. I care about her too. But it's not her Spike, it's who she represents for you that's doing it." Angel replied.
Spike just rolled over onto his side.
"Call him, you need to talk to him about this. He can help you." Angel said as he slowly left the room.
Spike waited a minute before grabbing his phone. He started dialing the number before hanging up and putting the phone back down.
Spike grabbed his smokes and went to sit by his window lighting one on the way.
Spike just stared out the window as the cigarette burned to nothing between his fingers.
His only thought was *would she be able to love me if she knew*.

"He's surrounded by the dark. The little boy he was has come back, spilling buckets of salt, crying and screaming with no one to hear him." Drusilla said as she got a far off look in her eyes.
Buffy sat across from her with her coffee in her hand, watching as Drusilla blinked and turned to face Buffy.
"He's crying for you. Wants you to save him. But you can't. He has to grow his own wings and fly. But you can catch him when he falls." Drusilla said quietly.
"I don't understand." Buffy replied looking at Drusilla confused.
"You're his light Buffy. You're going to take away the darkness and walk beside him in the light. The darkness will come back, it'll always be there, threatening him. You'll help him beat it back, help him slay his demons. Don't you see Buffy. You and him........you're going to win. He will learn to fly." Drusilla replied.
"Win against what Dru? Me and Spike?" Buffy asked as everything Drusilla was saying was going through her mind.
"You're going to win against her." Drusilla stated as she blinked a few more times as her glassy look disappeared.
Drusilla took a sip of her coffee as Buffy continued to think about what she had said.
"Do you know what happened to him? Did he tell you?" Buffy asked worriedly.
"Yes I know. The stars told me. They whisper to me and tell me things." Drusilla replied.
"What happened?" Buffy asked.
"It's not for me to tell. You will find out very soon. He's worried you won't want him when you do." Drusilla said.
"Why?" Buffy asked as her stomach turned slightly.
"It's a very dark place Buffy. Can you handle the dark?" Drusilla asked. "Do you love him enough to face it with him?" Drusilla asked. "You don't have to answer, I already know."
Buffy just sat there and finished her coffee in silence, glancing at Drusilla from time to time.

Spike was leaving Oz place when Faith caught up with him.
"Hey Blondie, wait up." Faith said as she came to his side.
Spike nodded in greeting as he continued to walk down the sidewalk.
Faith and Spike walked in silence until they came to the park and sat on the bench.
"Alright out with it." Spike said as he lit a smoke.
Faith reached over and took it as he lit another one.
"I'm not exactly sure how to bring this up. I'm not much for beating around the bush." Faith replied.
"Well just spill it." Spike replied.
"Okay." Faith said taking a long hall from her smoke and looking down.
Spike waited for a minute curious as to what she was going to say.
"I know." Faith said quietly as she turned and looked into his eyes.
If Spike was standing he would have landed on the ground. He saw the look in her eyes and knew what she was talking about.
The look of absolute terror crossed his face as he started looking around, shaking.
"He told you." Spike said as his breathing became haggard.
"No. He didn't." Faith replied.
"Then how?" Spike asked bewilderedly trying to calm down when all he wanted to do is run and hide.
"Takes on to know one. By what I've seen you've gone through the same thing or something similar." Faith replied evenly.
Spike looked at her in surprise.
Faith just nodded.
"Does he know?" Spike asked quietly.
"No, he doesn't. I'm not ready to tell him yet." Faith replied. "I can see you struggling the same way I do everyday." Faith said.
"You seem fine." Spike replied.
"You're not looking close enough." Faith replied. "For the most part I am fine. But occasionally, it hits me like a truck." Faith replied.
"Yeah." Spike said quietly.
"I go to this group, it may not be what you're comfortable with, but it's private and no one outside the group is aloud to be there. We help each other. The councillors are people who've been through it and have learned how to cope with it." Faith said handing him the card.
"I don't know." Spike replied.
"I'm not saying you have to go. But think about it. It could be what you're looking for." Faith said.
"Okay I'll think about it." Spike replied as he wiped a tear from the corner of his eye.
"Good. Now let's get going before they think we ran off together or something." Faith said as they stood up and began leaving the park.
Spike just quietly followed Faith out of the park and down the street.

"How was practise?" Joyce asked as Spike walked in the front door.
"It was good. We practised a few new songs tonight." Spike said as he went through to the kitchen and poured himself a glass of milk.
"Really, that's great.You missed dinner again." Joyce said as she came into the kitchen.
Joyce moved behind him as she opened the fridge door and grabbed a few things to make a sandwich.
Spike took a couple of deep breaths and his hand tightened around the glass shattering it when he felt her hand rub his back as she went by him.
"Oh my god. William are you okay?" Joyce asked as she dropped the food onto the counter the sandwich forgotten.
Spike pulled his hand back when Joyce reached for it.
"You're bleeding." Joyce said as she came closer.
"I'll take care of it. Just a scratch." Spike said as he backed away from her and went upstairs to the bathroom.
Spike sat on the edge of the tub, he closed his eyes and gritted his teeth, trying to gain control. Only becoming angry at himself for letting it happen. Spike looked down at the blood that was dripping on the floor as he slowly got up and went to the sink and rinsed his hand under running water.
He picked out the glass and then wrapped his hand. He cleaned the blood from the floor before returning to his room, closing his door behind him.
Joyce watched his retreating form go up the stairs.
She turned back and cleaned up the glass and put the food away.
She sat up for a few hours glancing towards the stairs worriedly.
She finally retreated to her room for the night, she was in for a restless night as she kept remembering the look on his face.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Spike walked into the kitchen the next morning and took the plate of eggs and bacon that Joyce was handing to him as he walked over and sat at the counter.
"How's your hand?" Joyce asked as she dished up a plate for Angel and placed it in the oven to keep warm.
"Fine, thanks mum." Spike said quietly as he took a bite.
"William are you okay?" Joyce asked with worry etched on her face.
"Look, I'm sorry about last night." Spike said letting out a deep breath as he leaned back against his chair.
"What's going on? Is there something you want to talk about?" Joyce said softly.
"No, I'm okay mum thanks. I'll be fine." Spike replied as he looked down to his plate.
"I won't push, but if you need to I'm here." Joyce said quietly as she got up from the table.
Spike just nodded as he played with his food.
"I'm going to the gallery, if you need anything call me okay." Joyce said as she walked out of the kitchen.
Buffy put her phone back in her purse when she didn't get an answer.
Something was wrong, she could feel it. He wouldn't spend this long without calling her at least once.
She wandered through the empty house before sitting at the table with a cup of tea.
When the phone rang she jumped up so quickly her tea spilled all over the table.
"Hello." Buffy said quickly when she picked up the phone.
"Hello Buffy." Giles said.
"Oh, hey Giles." Buffy replied as she slumped against the wall.
"I just thought I'd ask if you had any plans for tonight." Giles said.
"Not really." Buffy replied quietly.
"If it's alright with you I'd like to sit down and have a talk with you." Giles replied.
"Okay." Buffy said slowly.
"I'm leaving the office now, I should be home shortly." Giles replied.
"Okay, I'll see you then." Buffy said as and waited until Giles hung up before placing the phone back on it's cradle.
Buffy went back and cleaned up her mess on the table before making another tea and waited for Giles to come home.
Willow wandered down the stairs into the kitchen.
"Buffy, I'm heading to the library, you wanna come with?" Willow asked as grabbed a muffin from the rack.
"No thanks Will. I think I've studied enough for one day." Buffy replied even though she hadn't cracked a book open all day.
"Okay, I'll see you later." Willow replied as she left through the back door.
Buffy sat there in silence until she heard Giles car pull up to the house.
She got up and went to the living room to wait.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Angel and Spike sat in the living room talking about the band and playing video games.
Angel had started keeping a closer eye on Spike a couple months back, and this was a rare occasion when Spike seemed completely fine.
It didn't make Angel worry any less.
He would laugh and joke with Spike but all the while looking for any small sign that would tell him something wasn't quite right.
Angel just kept think of the old saying, the calm before the storm. He could see the storm was brewing and it was going to be a bad one.
Angel paused the game when Spike's phone rang and he grabbed it off the table to answer it.
"Hey luv." Spike said quietly. "No, but I can be." Spike had said when he got up off the couch and walked upstairs to his room.
Angel turned off the game and put everything away then went to the kitchen and searched the fridge, coming away empty handed.
Finally just going to his room and grabbing a book to read.
He'd read for about twenty minutes listening to the muffled sobs that came from Spike's room. When he heard sounds of stumbling he got up and went to his room and opened the door.
When he saw Spike he rushed in and screamed for Joyce.

Chapter 12
It had been about a week since Joyce had found out about Buffy and Spike's relationship. Giles had not approached Buffy about this until now.
Buffy sat on the couch and waited for Giles to come into the living room. When Giles had called her from work he had said he wanted to talk to her. He had gone upstairs to change into something more comfortable before returning to the living room to join Buffy on the sofa.
"This is about me and Spike." Buffy stated.
"Yes it is. Now I know there no sense in trying to talk some sense in to the two of you. Lord knows I tried with William." Giles said.
"No, there's not." Buffy stated quickly.
"I don't want to see either of you get hurt." Giles stated as he looked her right in the eyes.
"I would never hurt him." Buffy said assuredley.
"I know that Buffy. William wasn't exactly good to girls in the past." Giles said quietly. "For some very understandable reasons." Giles added even more quietly.
"He told me Giles." Buffy said.
Giles head looked to the floor then back to her. "He told you what happened then." Giles said quietly and a slightly shocked at that revelation..
"Yeah ." Buffy replied.
Giles took a deep breath as he looked at the floor.
"It's my fault. I should have recognized the signs. But I was always so busy, I didn't see it. I didn't beleive she was capable of that." Giles said as he pinched the bridge of his nose.
"Giles?" Buffy said as her brows scrunched in confusion.
"All those years it was happening and he never said a word. He was so small and helpless, and I let him down. I didn't protect him. That was my job and I failed him." Giles said his gaze staying on the floor.
"Giles, what did you do?" Buffy asked with a queezy feeling in her stomach.
"I'd come home from work everynight. Dinner was on the table and he'd be sitting there so quietly and I thought nothing of it." Giles continued not hearing Buffy, too caught up in his memories.
"I would see bruises all the time. But he was a boy, that was to be expected. Boys get hurt." Giles paused momentarily. "They got worse as he got older. She told me he would get into fights at school. William never said any different, so I thought that was the truth. Then one day I came home from work early. It was about five years ago. William was thirteen. Just turned as a matter of fact. I could smell the dinner cooking in the oven. When I came further into the house I heard muffled sounds, so I followed them." Giles continued on as tears fell from his eyes.
Buffy sat there listening as her stomach started to turn.
"The noises were coming from the spare bedroom. When I opened the door, I froze, I couldn't move. They were both naked on the bed. She had him tied up with tape over his mouth so he couldn't scream and be heard. I stood there and it wasn't until I saw William look over and saw the tears on his face as he looked at me. He had blood dripping from his head and scratches all over his body. I could hear him screaming for me to help through the tape. I grabbed the lamp that was by the door and smashed it over her head. I pulled her off of him and cut his restaints. I wrapped him up in the blanket and just held him so tightly as he cried. I called the police and had her arrested." Giles said as he wiped his eyes.
Buffy looked around the house at all the pictures that hung on the walls and sat on the mantle. She never realized or noticed there was always someone missing from the pictures.
Buffy's stomach lurched, threatening to spill on the floor.
"Later on that night, William finally told me it had been happening for as far back as he could remember. He was too afraid to tell me. She told him that I wouldn't beleive him. My wife, his mother had been beating and raping him for so many years. God I failed him miserabley. When I took him to the hospital, he had four broken ribs, his left arm was broken. Seven stitches above his eye. He also had slices down his back, across his stomach and chest where she too a knife to him. You can still see the scars. We left the house that night. Sold it, sold the furniture, everything." Giles said as he looked around. "I didn't want any of it around me, around him as a reminder."
"Oh god." Buffy said as her face paled even more.
Buffy lurched forward on the couch, quickly caught by Giles as the contents of her stomach spilled out onto the carpet.
Buffy no more than started to sit back up when she fell back over, her stomach spilling out again.
"Oh my god." Buffy said as she finally finished throwing up and the tears spilled down her face.
"How could she do that? How could anyone do that." Buffy said as she began to hyperventilate.
Giles looked at her more closely as his eyes widened.
"You didn't know did you?" Giles said holding her steady.
Buffy shook her head. "Told me...about other girls friends. Wasn't ready to talk......about this." Buffy managed to get out.
"Oh god." Giles said as he pulled her in and held her waiting for her breathing to slow down.
Giles hand smothed her hair ans he rocked her back and forth, calming her down.
"I'm sorry, I thought you knew. He should have been the one to tell you this." Giles said quietly. "Don't say anything until he's ready."
"I can't lie to him Giles." Buffy said as her breathing slowed.
"You don't have to lie. If it isn't brought up, don't say anything." Giles replied.
"He didn't want me to know Giles. Now that I do and don't say anything, it's the same as lying to him. He trusts me, and If I don't say anything, that'll break his trust. I can't do that." Buffy said quietly.
"I didn't mean to put you in this position Buffy." Giles said quietly.
"I know you didn't." Buffy replied. "It wasn't your fault.....it was hers." Buffy said as she rested her head on his chest.
Giles didn't respond he just continued to hold her.
"Spike loves you very much. I can tell by the way you two get along. He doesn't blame you. He blames her, it was her doing, all her....not you." Buffy said quietly.
Buffy could feel the vibrations in his chst as he started crying openly.
Buffy shifted her position so his head was on her chest and she rocked him back and forth as the years of anger and hatred poured out of him.
After they both calmed down they still held one another for a few minutes before pulling back.
"You've never talked to anyone have you?" Buffy asked.
"No." Giles replied.
"It happened to you too, not the way it happened to Spike. But she ripped both of your lives apart." Buffy stated.
"Thank you Buffy." Giles said softly.
"Your welcome Giles." Buffy replied as he stood up slowly. "Giles." Buffy called as he was half way across the living room.
Giles turned to face her.
Buffy gave him a small smile. "I love you." Buffy said quietly.
"I love you too Buffy." Giles said softly before turning and walking upstairs to his room mentally drained as he collapsed on his bed.
Buffy got up and started cleaning up her mess off of the carpet, wanting it to be clean before Willow came home. This was something that shw wouldn't be sharing with anyone.
When it was all clean she grabbed a bottle of juice from the fridge and headed to her room, grabbing her phone from her purse on the way upstairs.
Buffy sat on the bed and stard at the phone before putting it n the nightstand.
Finally she grabbed the phone and dialed his number and waited for him to answer.
"Hey luv." Spike said quietly.
"Hey baby." Buffy replied. "Are you somewhere we can talk privately?" Buffy asked softly.
"No. But I can be." Spike said as he got up and went upstairs to his room closing the door beind him. "Alright, we're alone now." Spike said as he sat on the window seat.
"I don't want to lie to you or hold anything back from you." Buffy said speaking softly.
"What is it Buffy? What's wrong?" Spike said getting worried.
"I know. I know what happened to you." Buffy said.
Spike got a sinking sensation in his gut. "Know what?" Spike asked cautiously.
"I'm so sorry." Buffy replied as he voice got caught in her throat.
She heard Spike take a sharp intake of breath.
"How?" Spike said as his voice trembled.
"Giles told me. He wanted to talk to me about us. He started talking about how you were with the others and I told him you already told me. He thought I meant you told me about................... He told me everything Spike." Buffy replied gently.
"I didn't want............you weren't ................." Spike said not able to continue as he leaned forward as he tangled his fingers in his hair, pulling it.
Buffy listened to him as he erupted in sobs unable to talk.
"I'm so sorry you had to go through that." Buffy said as she criedwith him. "I wish I could be there right now so I could hold you."Buffy said through tears.
"Wasn't ready for you to know." Spike said as his body shook uncontrollably.
"I know. I just didn't want you too find out I knew and didn't say anything. I didn't want to break the trust you had in me." Buffy replied.
"Do you still love me?" Spike asked trembling.
"Of course I still love you. Nothing could ever change that. I'm never gonna let anyone hurt you again Spike. I promise."Buffy replied.
"How soon can you come?" Spike asked sniffling, speaking hoarsly.
"I'll be there tomorrow." Buffy stated.
"I need to see you." Spike said trying to catch his breath.
"I know. I need to see you too." Buffy replied.
Buffy stayed on the phone with Spike hoping to calm him down.
"I'll call you tomorrow and let you know what time my flight gets in." Buffy replied.
"Okay." Spike replied his voice still trembling.
"I Love you." Buffy said.
"Love you too." Spike said as they both ended the call.
Spike leaned back closing his eyes as shivers ran up his spine. He brought his knees up to his chest and wrapped his arms around them, resting his forhead on his knees.
His breathing became ragged as the memories began washing over him.
Spike started breathing became shorter, sharper breaths as he tried to stand up. He made it to the bed and held on to the post as the road began to spin.
Angel opened the door and rushed to his side when he saw the sweat pouring off of Spike. He was swaying and when he looked up to Angel, he could tell Spike didn't see him. He put his arm around his shoulders trying to help as he screamed for Joyce.
Joyce came running up the stairs when she herd Angel screaming for her.
She stopped as she got to Spikes door and took in his appearance.
"Oh my god. What happened?" Joyce asked worriedly when she came into the room walking towards Spike.
"I don't know. I came in and he was like this." Angel said quickly as he continued to hold his cousin.
Spike looked up again when Joyce reached out her hand and barely touched him.
His eyes widened as the tears spilled down. All he saw was black hair and dark eyes coming near him, leering at him.
Spike breathed in as he tried to back up, shoving Angel away.
"Get away from me." Spike said quietly as he saw the image of his mother standing in front of him as he continued backing up as his body shook with fear.
"William?" Joyce asked confused.
"Get the fuck away from me." Spike said more loudly.
Joyce backed up and looked at Angel.
Angel grabbed Spike by the shoulders and shook him trying to bring him out of his trance.
"Spike, snap out of it. SPIKE." Angel shouted his name causing Spike to blink.
Spike looked from Angel to Joyce as he slowly sunk to the floor.
Joyce walked slowly over and kneeled beside him, careful not too touch him this time.
"William honey. What happened?" Joyce asked as she watched tears stream down his face.
"Something that hasn't happened in a long time." Spike said above a whisper.
"Do you want to talk about it?" Joyce asked.
Spike just shook his head as he brought his knees back up to his chest and wrapped his arms around them, his head between his knees.
"Do you want me too stay?" Joyce asked.
Again Spike shook his head.
Joyce got up and slowly left the room, worried about what she just witnessed. Worried about what her daughter had gotten into.
"If you need me I'll be in my room." Angel said quietly.
Spike just nodded as Angel walked out, closing the door behind him.
"Liam, do you know what that was about?" Joyce asked when the door closed.
"Yeah. I do." Angel said as he looked at Joyce.
"You're not going to tell me." Joyce stated rather than asked.
"I can't. I'm sorry, but it's my place to tell you something like this." Angel replied.
"I have a right to know. He's in a relationship with my daughter, I have to make sure she's safe." Joyce stated.
"He would never hurt Buffy Joyce. He loves her very much." Angel replied.
Joyce watched as Angel continued on to his room closing the door behind him.
Joyce went downstairs and picked up the phone and dialed Giles work number.
Joyce hung up when the line was busy.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
"I know." Spike said as he cried on the phone. "It's been so long, I didn't think it would happen again."
"I'm sorry son. Do you want to come home?" Giles asked as his heart broke.
"A part of me wants too. But the band is here dad. I can't leave them." Spike said quietly.
"Did you want me too come there?" Giles asked just as quietly.
"No, you have to work." Spike replied.
"You're more important than work William." Giles stated."Maybe you should start seeing someone again."Giles added.
"Maybe I should." Spike replied letting out a long breath.
"I'll contact you're old doctor and see if she can recommend anyone in your area." Giles said.
"There's someone here I can call." Spike replied as he continued to tremble.
"Who?" Giles asked.
"A friend. There's a group she told me about." Spike replied.
"Sounds like a good idea." Giles replied.
"I think I'm going to call her." Spike said.
"Alright William. I love you son." Giles replied as he closed his eyes.
"I know you do dad. I love you too." Spike replied.
"Bye William." Giles said.
"Bye dad." Spike replied ending the call.
Joyce went over and answered the door and smiled when she saw Faith standing.
"Hello Faith. Just a minute, I'll get Liam for you." Joyce said ushering her into the living room.
"Actually I'm here to see Spike." Faith replied.
"I don't think he's up for company right now." Joyce replied.
"He know's I'm here. He's the one who called me." Faith replied.
"Alright, go on up." Joyce said apprehensively.
Faith went up the stairs and stopped and knocked on Spike's door.
"Spike, it's me." Faith said loud enough for him to hear through the door.
When she didn't get a reply she opened the door slowly to see his pale face and his body shaking uncontrollably.
"Shit." Faith said as she came into the room. "What happened?" Faith said as she grabbed a blanket and wrapped it around him.
"Buffy found out. Then it just........I saw her coming near me, but it wasn't her. I lost it Faith, I couldn't seem to stop it from happening." Spike said as his voice trembled.
"Don't worry, you'll get through it." Faith said wrapping her arm around his shoulders trying to sheild him from the memories that were over taking him.
"Whens the next meeting?" Spike asked whispering.
"There's one tomorrow morning." Faith replied.
"Can you take me?" Spike asked.
Faith nodded as she began rubbing his arms trying to warm him.
"When did it happen to you?" Spike asked.
"It started when I was eight until I turned twelve." Faith replied as she looked into Williams eyes. "It was one of my step fathers." She added quietly.
"Can we get out of here? I can't be here right now." Spike said.
"Okay." Faith replied as she stood up helping Spike stand.
"Faith." Angel said from the doorway.
Faith looked at Angel then back to Spike.
Spike could see fear cross her face for a split second before she covered it up.
"We're heading out for coffee. I needed to talk to Spike about something." Faith said.
"You don't have to lie to me Faith. I heard what you said." Angel replied quietly.
Faith just closed her eyes and sat on the bed.
Angel came into the room and kneeled in front of Faith grasping her hands in his.
"You don't have to tell me. But if you want to I'll listen and be there for you. I love you Faith." Angel said quietly.
Tears fell from Faiths eyes as she leaned down and hugged him.
"Now go and do what you need to do. I'll be here." Angel said placing a kiss on her cheek before leaving them alone.
"You okay?" Spike asked as he watched Faith.
"Come on." Faith replied not answering the question.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Buffy hung up the phone and closed her eyes as she leaned against the wall. She didn't want to call Spike. She wanted to give him some time to himself.
Joyce had told her what happened, but Buffy refused to tell her why it happened. If Spike wanted her to know, he would tell her.
Buffy went upstairs and climbed into a hot bath and laid back letting the hot water calm her nerves.
Buffy changed into her pajamas after draining the tub. She stayed in her room with her door closed as she laid down and closed her eyes.
She had already placed her phone by the bed in case he wanted to call her.
All she could see was his face when she drifted off to sleep.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Giles walked into the kitchen the next morning joining Buffy and Willow at the table for breakfast.
Willow could feel the tension in the room and chose not too stay too long.
"I know what happened lastnight." Buffy said after Willow left.
"I figured you might." Giles replied.
"This happened before?" Buffy stated rather than asked.
"Used to happen alot. He was in councelling for a number of years to learn how to deal with it. It took several years for him to realize not all women were like her. He's going back into councelling." Giles replied.
"That's why you never let it get serious with Olivia isn't it. You didn't really trust her." Buffy said.
"Maybe. I'm not sure really." Giles replied.
"This happened because of me didn't it?" Buffy asked.
"No. I think it was happeneing before but he didn't really see it until it was too late. I was wondering if I did the wrong thing by sending him to live with your mother. That's probably what caused it." Giles said.
"But I've heard them together Giles, they sounded fine." Buffy stated.
"Outwardly I'm sure they did. But with William, part of him, a part he hid away was probably terrified. Maybe it just took this to come out. You can never tell what can cause a relapse to happen." Giles stated. "By Spike and I living alone he was never placed in this situation to see how he would deal with it. There's been no other woman here since so the situation never arose."
" I'm gonna go home today Giles. I wanna be there for him as much as I can before I have to come back for school." Buffy stated.
Giles nodded his head. "What about your exams?"
"I'll take them there. If they don't let me, I'll make it up over the summer." Buffy stated.
"I told William I'd come if he wanted me too. He said I had to work." Giles said shaking his head. "I'm coming with you. I'll call and get the tickets, you start packing." Giles said as he put his plate in the sink.
Buffy got up and headed upstaires and grabbed a bag from the closet.
She went through her clothes and packed what she wanted the zipped up the bag and set it at the foot of her bed.
She grabbed her purse and phone , then bag and headed downstairs, putting them by the door ready to go.
"You're really going?" Willow asked.
"I have to Will. I need to see him. I'll see you in a few weeks when you come back okay." Buffy said giving Willow a hug.
"Okay. Don't forget Bronzing when I get back." Willow said as she smiled.
"How could we forget that." Buffy replied as she grabbed her bag and left through the front door.
"Are you sure you'll be alright?" Giles asked concerned.
"I'll be fine Giles. I'll see you in a few days. Now go or you'll miss you're flight." Willow said shoving him out the door.
Buffy watched as LAX came in to veiw.
He there, standing behind the the planes of glass watching us land. Buffy thought as she watched the building come closer.
Buffy looked over when she felt Giles squeeze her hand.
"Are you ready Buffy?" Giles asked as he looked at her with concern.
"Been ready for a long time." Buffy replied smiling as she let out a deep breath.
Buffy rested her head on his shoulder as they felt the plane touch down.
"I'm scared for him Giles." Buffy said softly.
"I know you are. Do you think you're strong enough for this?" Giles asked.
"I'll do anything for him." Buffy replied.
"It won't be easy Buffy. It's going to be a long hard road ahead of you. You have to be absolutley sure you want this." Giles said.
"I love him." Buffy said answering his thoughts.
Giles and Buffy stood up grabbing their carry ons and exited the plane.
Once they were through the gate their eyes scanned the crowd until they found who they were looking for as a pair of blue eyes stared back at them.
Chapter 13
Spike watched the gate as everyone came through watching for them.
When he saw then come through he stood there looking at them. At her.
When she looked over and their eyes met it was as if everything around then stood still.
"Go ahead Buffy." Giles said quietly placing a hand on her back.
Buffy took one step forward never taking her eyes off of him.
She watched as he took a cautious step forward as well all the while watching her.
Their pace picked up as they ran the rest of the way as she threw herself into his arms.
Spikes arms went around her waist as he lifted her off the ground and hugged her to him tightly, burying his face in her neck.
Buffy pulled back after Spike set her down and looked into his water filled eyes.
"There's a couple things I said I would tell you when we saw each other." Buffy said as the tears fell down her cheeks.
Spike watched her face intently as his bottom lip trembled.
Buffy's hand came up and wiped his tears away.
"I love you." Buffy said cupping his cheek.
"I love you Buffy." Spike said as he rested his forehead against hers.
"Can I kiss you now?" Spike asked as his voice shook.
"No." Buffy said quietly.
Spike lifted his head and looked at her with hurt and confusion on his face.
"I'm gonna kiss you." Buffy whispered as she raised her face and captured his lips in hers in a long, soft and gentle kiss.
When they pulled apart Spike closed his eyes as he leaned his forehead against hers again.
"Can you keep me?" Buffy whispered.
"Is forever long enough?" Spike whispered back.
"It's a start." Buffy said as she kissed him again.
Giles waited until Buffy and Spike came over to him until he hugged Spike.
"Hi dad." Spike said quietly as his father embraced him.
"Hello William." Giles said when he finally broke the embrace. "How are you?" He asked worriedly.
Spike just nodded as he grabbed Buffy's bag.
"Joyce is waiting at home." Spike said as he led them both out of the airport and over to his car.
The drive was quiet, Buffy opted for the back seat giving the front seat to Giles.
When they pulled onto Revello Giles turned to Spike.
"Does Joyce know about any of it?" He asked quietly.
"No, she doesn't. Didn't know what to say. Was afraid of what she might think." Spike said honestly.
"She's going to be involved in your life Spike, she's going to have to know." Giles said.
"I know." Spike said looking down.
"Would you like me to talk to her?" Giles asked.
Spike thought about it for a minute before nodding his head.
"Very well." Giles replied as Spike pulled up to the house.
They all climbed out of the car and headed for the house. Buffy walked beside Spike holing his hand.
"Buffy. I missed you so much." Joyce said as she hugged Buffy when they came into the living room.
"I missed you too mom." Buffy replied.
"Rupert, it's so nice to finally meet you after all this time." Joyce said as she saw Giles come into the living room.
"Nice to meet you as well Joyce." Rupert said as he shook her hand.
"Well come in and sit down." Joyce said.
They all moved to the living room and sat down.
Joyce joined them a moment later with a pot of tea.
"Mom, I'm really tired. I haven't really slept in the last couple of days, plus the flight. Would it be okay if I went upstairs and laid down?" Buffy asked.
"Of course Buffy, go ahead." Joyce replied.
Buffy got up still holding Spike's hand as she tried to walk to the stairs.
Spike looked at Joyce.
Joyce nodded and smiled at Spike as he slowly got up and followed her up the stairs and into the room.
Buffy climbed on the bed and pulled Spike down to lay beside her. She put her head on his chest as his arms wrapped around her.
They both closed their eyes and slowly drifted off while Giles was downstairs talking to Joyce, revealing everything they had kept quiet for so long.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Joyce wiped her eyes as she looked at Giles when he had finished speaking.
"It's so hard to believe there's people out there like that." Joyce replied as Giles could see anger in her eyes.
Giles just lowered his head as he took a deep breath.
"I think I made a mistake agreeing to let him come here. But when I got to know you on the phone, I don't know it just felt right." Giles said.
"I'm glad you did. This would have happened anyway eventually Rupert. Something like this, I don't think anyone can truly get over, but learn to live with it." Joyce replied.
Giles just nodded.
"You did an amazing job with him. He's a fine young man, you should be proud." Joyce replied as her concerns about Buffy vanished.
"I am, extremely." Giles said with a small smile.
"I'm feeling pretty overprotective right now." Joyce said standing up.
"I want to go check on them. Make sure they're okay."
Giles smiled as he joined her and followed her up the stairs.
They walked quietly stopping in front of the open door way.
They both leaned on either side of the door frame as they took in the sight in front of them.
Spike and Buffy were sound asleep.
Buffy had her arms around Spike protectively as his head laid against her chest. His one arm under him while the other wrapped around her waist like a life line.
Giles followed Joyce into the room and grabbed the other end of the blanket as they pulled it up covering them both.
Joyce sat on the edge of the bed and ran her fingers over Buffy's hair and then Spike's.
Spike stirred as he opened his eyes and saw Joyce sitting beside him and Buffy.
Joyce shook her head when Spike was about to sit up.
"Shhh. Go back to sleep." Joyce whisper as she cupped the side of his face. She felt him stiffen slightly and then saw Buffy's embrace tighten as Joyce pulled her hand back.
She saw Spike relax and then a look of apology come over his face.
Joyce smiled at him.
"It's okay. Go back to sleep. We just wanted to make sure you two were alright." Joyce whispered as she stood up.
Spike watched them start to retreat before he closed his eyes and went back to sleep.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Spike woke up to see a pair of green eyes staring at him.
"Hey." Buffy said softly as she caressed his arm.
"Hey." Spike replied with a small smile bringing his hand up to push her hair from her eyes. "You're absolutely beautiful." Spike added quietly.
"I've waited a long time to see your smile." Buffy whispered as she ran her finger along his lips.
Spike closed his eyes reeling from the sensation of her touch.
Buffy leaned over slowly and placed her lips on his, kissing him tenderly. Spikes arms snaked around her back pulling her tightly against him, deepening the kiss.
Buffy's lips parted as his tongue slipped inside, exploring her mouth.
Buffy moaned as Spike rolled her onto her back pinning her beneath him, her finger tangling in his hair. The kiss becoming more heated.
Spike broke the kiss and raised his head to look into her eyes while he began to stoke her hair.
His other hand came up and started massaging her breast.
Buffy breath caught in her throat as she closed her eyes and revelled in the new sensations that were coursing through her body.
Spike dipped his head and began to nibble on her neck when she turned her head as he continued his ministrations.
Spike sat up slowly bringing Buffy with him. He removed his t-shirt and started to remove hers.
"I'm not ready. I've never...." Buffy stuttered quietly.
"Not asking. There's other ways to pleasure you. Let me show you." Spike whispered in her ear.
Buffy closed her eyes and shivered when she felt his hot breath caress her neck.
Buffy lifter her arms as Spike removed her shirt and bra slowly, watching her lovingly.
He laid her back down as he positioned himself between her thighs.
He leaned down capturing her lips as his hands roamed over her breasts, teasing her nipples and causing her to moan.
Spike placed kisses down her neck and chest.
Buffy gasped and arched into him when he took her breast on his mouth and kneaded the other.
Buffy fingers tangled in his hair as she began to breath heavily. Spikes mouth began trailing down her stomach slowly as he unbuttoned her jeans and started sliding them down.
Buffy came out of her fog quickly when she felt her pants being pulled off.
"No. Spike I....
"Shhh. I'm not going to do anything you're not ready for." Spike replied quietly as he dropped her pants to the floor. He dropped back down and placed kisses on her abdomen as he slowly removed the small piece of lace from around her hips, pulling them slowly down her legs until they landed on the floor with the rest of her clothes.
Spike kissed his way slowly back up her body.
He laid down beside her as he kissed her deeply, his tongue invading every inch of her mouth.
His hand moved down only stopping it's travel when he found what he was looking for.
His hand slipped between her thighs, playing with her curls, touching her lightly, teasingly.
Buffy automatically spread her thighs giving him better access as she brought her hand down and grabbed his, urging him on.
Spike slipped a finger inside and began pumping into her while his thumb rubbed her nubbin continuously.
Buffy tore her mouth from his as she moaned and threw her head back.
Spike slipped another finger in and began rubbing harder as her hips bucked under his ministrations.
Spike continued his assault, as his mouth captured her nipple, he began sucking eagerly. His ministrations became rougher and harder the more she moaned.
Spike threw his head back and moaned as her nails dug into his back.
Spikes head fell and rested on her chest when he felt her walls contract, seconds later feeling her spendings all over his hand.
Buffy's head fell back as she closed her eyes, breathing heavily.
Buffy moaned as her her head rolled to the side when she felt Spike slip between her thighs, running his tongue along her clit.
Spike devoured her, lapping up all her spendings, not missing a drop.
His tongue invaded her time and time again.
Buffy bit her lip when her release came , but Spike stayed there and continued to taste her bringing her to her third orgasm.
Her whole body vibrated as she screamed his name turning her head into the pillow to muffle the sounds.
When her body relaxed Spike wiped his mouth and came up and laid beside her.
Buffy rolled over and curled into him, holding him tight.
"What about you?" Buffy asked when she was able to breathe.
"I'll be alright." Spike said as he caressed her back.
Buffy reached down between their bodies and undid his jeans.
Spikes hand quickly went down and stilled her actions.
"Buffy luv. You don't have to do that." Spike said staring into her eyes.
"I want to." She whispered back.
Spike loosened his grip but rubbed the back of her hand giving her permission.
Spike helped Buffy pull off his jeans and then laid back down, watching her every movement.
She raised herself up on her elbow as her hand slowly travelled down his chest and stomach.
Spike gasped when her fingers slowly traced a path from the tip of his hardness to the base.
He breathed hard when she gripped him and began sliding her hand up and down his shaft.
His one hand clenched the sheets while his other hand was caressing her back.
Spike could feel his release coming as he began thrusting his hips.
"Oh.....Buffy, I'm........Ahhhhh." Spike said as he thrust his hips a few more times as his seed started to seep out.
Buffy quickly lowered her head and took it all in her mouth.
Spikes eyes widened as he fell over the edge, filling her mouth completely.
Buffy pulled her head back when she had swallowed it all and went back to his side.
Spike pulled her against him and kissed her tenderly.
They laid there quietly for a little while before getting up and putting something on then going back to bed.
"I'm going to marry you." Spike stated softly.
"And I'm gonna say yes." Buffy replied just as softly.
Buffy just smiled as she looked into his eyes.
"It's only four in the morning. We should try and get some more sleep." Buffy stated.
Spike agreed as they laid down hugging one another, falling asleep quickly.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Buffy and Spike walked into the kitchen and joined Giles and Joyce at the counter as they sat in the stools.
Giles and Joyce automatically reached for the coffee pot, each making a cup. Joyce sat one in front of Spike and Giles sat one in front of Buffy.
Both reached for their cups saying thank you but came out more like a grunt.
Joyce took in their mussed hair and sleep filled eyes and smiled as she shook her head.
"We both ended up with children who are definitely not morning people." Joyce commented.
"Morning shouldn't start until noon." Buffy replied and Spike nodded his head adamantly agreeing with her.
Giles and Joyce just chuckled.
"So what have you two have planned for the day?" Joyce asked.
"More of last night." Spike mumbled.
"What was that dear?" Joyce asked.
"Nothing." Buffy said nudging Spike. "We haven't planned anything." Buffy answered quickly.
"Well good. I thought maybe we could all go out today. Catch a matinee and have lunch together." Joyce suggested.
"I think that sounds like a splendid idea." Giles said to Joyce.
"Great." Buffy said with a smile when all she really wanted to do was sit home and relax with Spike.
"I have to go somewhere this morning. So I can meet you there around noon." Spike said.
"Do you have an early practise?" Joyce replied.
"No." Spike replied quietly. "I better go shower and get ready." Spike said as he got up off the stool rubbing Buffy's back before he walked out of the room.
"He started going to this group yesterday morning. Today he's going in to meet with the councillor privately." Buffy said quietly.
Joyce just nodded as she looked at her cup of coffee.
"Buffy." Spike said from the top of the stairs.
Buffy got up and and went upstairs.
"Yeah baby." Buffy said as she came to stand in front of him.
"Will you go with me?" Spike asked as he grasped her hand.
"I'll go." Buffy whispered in his ear as she hugged him.
Spikes hands fisted the back of her robe.
"Come on. Let's get cleaned up, then we can head out okay." Buffy said soothingly.
"Okay." Spike said as he went into the bathroom closing the door behind him as Buffy went in and grabbed a change of clothes for him and set them on the bed. Buffy grabbed some of her clothes out of her bag and did the same.
Buffy went back and walked into the bathroom.
"Spike, I put some clothes on the bed for you okay." Buffy said.
"Thanks luv." Spike said over the sound of the water.
"Let me know when you're done so I can shower too." Buffy said.
"Okay." Spike replied as he lathered up.
Buffy turned around and left closing the door behind her only to bump into Joyce in the hall.
"Mom, this isn't what it looks like." Buffy said hurriedly.
Joyce held up her hands stopping Buffy from continuing.
"I know honey. And some day soon I'm sure that it will be exactly what it looks like. But for now I prefer to live in the land of denial. I just came up to grab my sweater." Joyce said giving Buffy a smile.
"Rupert and I are heading out. I'm taking him down to the gallery, then we'll meet you at the matinee at noon." Joyce said as she grabbed her sweater from her room and then went back downstairs.
Buffy shook her head and smiled at her moms brutal honesty.
Buffy went back into the bathroom and closed the door when she heard them leave.
"Don't turn it off." Buffy said as she started to strip down when she heard Spike start to shut off the shower head.
"You joining me luv?" Spike asked as he peeked around the shower curtain and just stared when he saw her stripped down to nothing but her panties, which she was pulling down.
"You're already done. It's my turn." Buffy said as she tossed her panties into the laundry bin.
Buffy looked up and saw Spike staring at her.
"Come on." Spike said softly extending his hand.
Buffy smiled as she grabbed Spike's hand and allowed him to pull her into the tub.
Spike led Buffy to stand under the stream of water.
He caressed her from behind as the water poured over her wetting her from head to toe.
Spike grabbed the body wash and lathered her up, leaving no spot on her body untouched. His finger ran through her hair as he washed and conditioned her hair, then rinsed it out.
When they were done they stayed under the water for a minute as he wrapped his arms around her waist and she leaned into him.
Spike grabbed his keys from the dresser as he and Buffy finished dressing and started to head downstairs.
Buffy grabbed her purse from the dining room table and then they headed out the door.
Buffy sat quietly in the car as they drove to Spike appointment.
When they got there Spike climbed out of the car and came around and opened the door for Buffy and then closing it when she got out.
He grabbed her hand as they walked into the building and down the hall and stopped when he reached the office.
He walked in and looked around as his grasp on Buffy's hand tightened.
"Spike, I'm glad you showed up." A man said as he came out another door.
Spike nodded shakily.
"I'm Buffy Summers." Buffy said extending her other hand.
"John Carriss. Nice to meet you." John said smiling at her.
"Are you ready to start?" John asked turning to Spike.
Spike again nodded.
"I'll wait out here." Buffy said squeezing his hand.
Spike let go of her hand as he followed John into his office as Buffy went over and sat in one of the chairs and waited.
A couple of hours later Spike walked out of the office, his eyes were swollen and his jaw was clenched.
Buffy got up and walked over to him and put her arm around his waist and rested her other hand on his chest.
"You okay?" Buffy asked quietly.
"Yeah." Spike said as he let out a deep breath.
They were just about to leave when John spoke up.
"Miss Summers, can I speak with you a moment." John said as he walked up to them.
"Sure." Buffy said from Spike's side.
"Can you come into my office?" John asked.
John shook his head at Spike when he saw how apprehensive he was.
"Okay." Buffy said as she followed him.
"There's a group down the hall on the same nights as Spike's. It's for loved one's of sexual abuse victims. Now I'm not telling you to go, but it maybe of some benefit to you to better understand what he's going through, and how to handle certain situations if they appear." John said.
"Are there any night time meetings, or are they all during the day?" Buffy asked.
"No, they have them days and nights, that way we fit everyone's schedules." John said handing her a piece of paper. "This is the address, room number, days and times."
"Are you one of the councillors?" Buffy asked.
"Yes I am. I go to your room on one day and Spikes room on the other." John replied.
"Okay, I guess I'll see you on Tuesday." Buffy said standing up.
"I guess you will." John replied shaking her hand again.
Buffy turned and walked out of the office and straight over to Spike.
"Ready?" Buffy asked.
Spike just held her hand and followed her out.
Chapter 14
Buffy sat at the table with Joyce and Giles while Spike and Angel did some of the yard work in the back of the house.
"Giles can you go somewhere with me tonight?" Buffy asked.
"Of course dear. Where to?" Giles asked.
"It's a meeting. I think it'll be good for you if you went." Buffy stated.
"What sort of meeting?" Giles asked.
"It's a group for family and freinds af sexual abuse victims. It's two nights a week. I know you're leaving tomorrow but I thought this might be something that might help you too." Buffy said.
"I'll go." Angel said from the doorway as he came into the dining room.
After a few minutes of silence Giles agreed to go with Buffy and Angel.
Giles and Joyce drove together with Angel riding with them.
Spike and Buffy drove ahead of them in his car.
They all lingered in the hall talking to each other until they knew it would be starting soon.
Buffy walked Spike to his room.
"I'll see you in an hour." Buffy said as Spike bent down and kissed her.
"See you soon luv." Spike said as he opened the door.
When the door opened Buffy eyes landed on Faith who was sitting in one of the chairs inside the room
Her mouth dropped open slightly as Faith happened to look up and see her standing there.
Faith just looked at Buffy before giving her a small smile.
Buffy smiled back as a tear spilled down her cheek.
Spike closed the door unaware of the interaction that had happend.
Buffy turned and walked down the hall and into her own room where she grabbed a chair and sat between Giles and Angel.
"Spike isn't the only reason you're here is it?" Buffy asked quietly.
Angel looked at her and shook his head.
"I just seen her in the other room, I'm sorry I didn't know." Buffy said.
Angel just nodded slightly as he turned to face to the front when the councilor came into the room.
An hour later they left the room and walked down the hall as everyone went to meet their respective family members.
Faith came out of the room only to see Angel leaving the room that hold the family support group. Angel looked up and walked over to her.
"Angel." Faith said a little shocked.
"I told you I'd be there for you." Angel replied.
Faith slowly put her arms around him and buried her face in his chest.
"I love you." Faith said quietly for the first time.
"I love you too." Angel replied as he ran his hand through her hair.
Joyce stood there shocked to see Faith come out of that room behind Spike. That's why he called her that night. Joyce thought as it all made sense to her.
Spike came over and put his arm around Buffys shoulders.
"How'd it go?" Buffy asked.
"It went fine luv." Spike said dipping his head to giver her a kiss.
"How's Faith?" Buffy asked quietly.
"She's good. She told me you saw each other at the beginning of class." Spike replied.
"Yeah." Buffy aske looking over to Faith and Angel.
"I'd like to go out for awhile. Faith suggested maybe going to the Bronze for a bit." Spike said.
"Sounds good." Buffy replied.
"It would be nice if you could join us since you're leaving tomorrow." Spike said to Giles.
"I'd like that." Giles replied as he put his hand on Joyce's back as they started walking down the hall towards the exit.
They joined two tables so they could all sit together.
They threw jokes and one liners across the table over their drinks, enjoying themselves and really relaxing for the first time in quite awhile.
"They're playing our song broodboy." Faith said standing up.
"This is our song?" Angel asked a little nervous at not remembering.
"Nah, just keeping you on your toes." Faith said dragging him out to the dance floor where they moved in clinging to each other, swaying slightly to the music.
Spike grabbed Buffy's hand and pulled her up.
"Is this our song?" Buffy asked mimicking Angel.
Spike snickered. "No, I just want to dance with the most beautiful woman in the world." Spike said quietly as he led Buffy out to the floor.
Spike's arms went around her waist pulling her to him, as she laid her head on his chest and and her one arm went around his waist as the other went up to play with the curls at the nape of his neck.
Spike lowered and rested his cheek on to the top of her head, moving lazily to the music.
Giles and Joyce watched them from the table.
"Funny how they know what they want. When I was their age, I had no clue." Joyce stated.
"They really love each other. All of them." Giles replied looking at both couples on the dance floor.
"They really do." Joyce replied. "It's going to be hard when Buffy goes back to London to go to school."
"I'm going to stay on a little longer, if that's alright with you." Giles said.
"I'd enjoy having you here longer." Joyce replied.
"There's a few things I want to do before I leave." Giles said as he took a drink. "Before I do any of that, could I have the honor of this dance?" Giles asked as another slow song started.
Joyce smiled and took his outstretched hand.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Buffy brought some sodas out to the back yard while Spike tended the barbecue.
Buffy, Cordelia and Faith all sat together laughing while Spike, Angel, Oz and Xander hovered over the barbecue acting like they knew what they were doing.
"Do you need any help over there?" Giles asked from the door way.
"Nope. We got it covered G-man." Xander replied looking at the grill.
Giles cringed at the nickname Xander had given him.
Joyce came up behind Giles.
"How's it going out there?" Joyce aske as she saw a little too much smoke coming from the barbecue.
"We're going to feasting on charcoal." Giles said just itching to get to the grill.
"I don't think it'll be that bad." Joyce replied, then her brows scrunched when she saw Angel drop a piece of meat, then look around and pick it up, putting it on the grill.
Spike was busy trying to add more lighter fluid to the fire, even though the meat was already on the grill.
Xander and Oz were arguing over which utensils would be the best to use.
Before Joyce could say anything else Giles darted out of the house and right over to the barbecue and joined in the argument.
Joyce shook her head and chuckled as she walked over to the girls who were all sitting around the table.
"You do know we're gonna end up with pizza." Joyce said quietly as they all turned and watched them arguing between barbecue sauces.
"Yeah." Buffy replied smiling as she watched Spike laughing at Xander who was now covered in the sauce.
"Caveman much." Cordelia said shaking her head.
"Me man, me make fire." Faith replied chuckling.
"Peperoni sound good to you guys?" Buffy asked Cordelia and Faith.
They both nodded as Joyce went into the house to order the food.
"Next time we'll do the work while they sit and talk." Faith said.
"Probably the only way we'll ever be able to eat it." Cordelia said.
"Yeah, but they're having fun and pizza is not that bad." Buffy said.
They sat back and continued to watch and laugh when the ground ended up with more food than they had on the grill, that Angel was made to leave there and not put back on the grill.
The girls sat there enjpying pizza and talking with the guys, who refused to eat the pizza. They sat down with the food they cooked and ate it........no matter how bad it tasted. After all they had their pride.
Giles and Joyce eventually went into the house leaving them to their own devices.
Buffy, Cordelis and Faith spread a blanket out and layed on their stomachs and talked while they watched their boyfriends sitting at the table talking animatedly.
"So Buffy, what's Spike like as a boyfriend?" Cordelia asked turning her head to look at Buffy.
"So far.......couldn't ask for more. I've never met anyone like him, probably never will. Never want to." Buffy said watching him.
"You should have seen the girls hitting on him at school since he came her. It was hilarious watching him shoot them all down, ezpecailly harmony." Cordelia replied.
"I guess we know why he was turning them down." Faith said smiling as she looked at Buffy.
"Yeah." Buffy said smiling.
"You never even met until a week and a half ago. How did it happen?" Cordelia asked as she scrunched her brows.
Buffy smiled as she looked as Spike with adoration in her eyes.
"The phone rang and I was home alone so I was the one who answered it. He had me at hello." Buffy said still watching Spike.
At that moment Spike looked over with a smile on his face, winking at Buffy before turning back to their conversation at hand.
"He's a good guy Buffy. And a damn good dancer." Faith replied smirking.
"Yeah he is. Wait, how do you know?" Buffy said smiling when she turned to face Faith.
"The night I met Angel. I saw Spike trying to avoid a skanky woman. I went over and pulled him onto the dancefloor for a slow number. Saved him from her which he was eternally grateful and by the way so should you. I also got to ask about Angel. Spike introduced us after the dance and we've been together ever since." Faith replied.
"Angel's a pretty descent guy himself. You did good Faith." Cordelia said.
"Yeah I did. He's the best." Faith replied softly.
"So what's wrong?" Buffy asked.
"I guess I'm just waiting for the other shoe to drop. Part of me doesn't beleive I deserve him. I'm not good enough for him." Faith replied honestly.
"Yes you are. I see the way he is with you. He loves Faith. You can see it in his eyes." Buffy replied.
"Doesn't mean I deserve it though." Faith replied.
"You deserve it more than anyone." Buffy replied quietly looking at Faith.
Faith just smiled at Buffy and turned back to look at Angel.
"Where do you think we'll all be ten years from now?" Cordelia asked changing topics.
"Don't like to think that far ahead." Faith replied. "But I think I'm going into phsyciatry."
"Fashion for me. I'll have my own line of clothing." Cordelia replied.
"I'm not sure what I'll be doing. I have a couple of different intersts. But art kinda tops the list." Buffy replied.
"Where do you think they'll be?" Cordelia asked looking at Xander, Spike and Angel.
"Spike will be o the road performing. That's where he was meant to be." Buffy replied.
"Not sure about Angel. He hasn't really said anything specific about his plans." Faith replied.
"Yeah neither has Xander. He works part time at his Uncles construction site, maybe he'll go into that." Cordelia said.
"Will we even still be together ten years from now? Things always change. Maybe our relationships will too. I mean we are young, just finishing highschool. Maybe this is just a step in the road for us." Cordelia said watching Xander practically fall out of his chair laughing at something Spike had said.
"I will be. With Spike I mean. I'm going to marry him." Buffy said quietly.
"Well we all think that about ourselves too. Doesn't mean it's actually going to happen." Faith replied softly.
"I know it is. He told me he was going to marry me. I told him I would say yes." Buffy replied.
"He actually said that?" Cordelia asked.
"Yeah he did." Buffy replied.
They all looked over to see their boyfriends watching them with smiles on their faces.
"What do you think they're talking about?" Buffy asked as they all smiled back.
"Us." Faith said shrugging her shoulders.
"What do yo think they're talking about?" Xander asked.
"What do a group of girls usually talk about." Angel replied.
When Xander sat there with a blank expression on his face Spike spoke up.
"Us you git."Spike replied shaking his head. "They're probably camparing notes."
"Notes?" Xander asked.
"How we kiss, what we look like naked, all sorts of things." Spike replied.
"Oh god." Xander winced.
"She's still with you so you can't be all that bad." Angel replied.
"Yeah, you're right." Xander said relaxing slightly. "Wait......naked. Cordelia and I..........I mean...... we're not...." Xander said stuttering.
"Not at that stage yet." Spike answered for him.
Xander just nodded.
"Hey, you and Buffy........you are?" Xander asked dumbfounded.
"Normally I wouldn't answer that question. But no, we're not. It's way to soon for that." Spike replied.
Angel just sat silently avoiding that topic.
"It's still early so I think I'm going to go grab my girl and head out before she has to head home." Xander said standing up.
"See ya later guys."
Angel and Spike nodded as he went over to Cordelia.
"Ready to go Cord?" Xander asked.
"Sure. Catch you later." Cordelia said as she got up and grabbed her bag.
"I think I should go to. Spend some............quality time with my guy." Faith said smirking at Buffy.
Buffy chuckled. "Have fun."
"I know he definately will." Faith replied winking.
Buffy shook her head as she started to laugh.
"Come on gel boy. Let's hit it." Faith replied.
Angel got up and followed Faith out of the back yard.
Buffy turned to watch Spike sitting in his chair just watching her.
They stayed like that for a few minutes before Spike got up and slowly walked over to her and laid down beside her.
Buffy rolled to her side so they lay facing each other.
"How was your food?" Buffy asked grinning.
"God it was awful." Spike replied honestly.
"I had so much fun today Spike. Having everyone I care about in one spot, well except for Willow, and just relaxing." Buffy replied.
"Oz didn't stay much past the food. He's definately missing Red." Spike replied brushing her hair from her eyes.
"She'll be back soon." Buffy said quietly as she moved closer to Spike.
Spike raised himself up on his arm and gently pushed Buffy to lay on her back.
He leaned over until his lips were lightly touching hers.
"I've been wanting to get you alone all day. Breathe in your scent, kiss you.......taste you. Make you mine." Spike whispered.
"Already yours." Buffy replied quietly as she closed the small distance by lifting her head slightly and capturing his lips in a heated passionate kiss.
Spike moaned when her hands came up, tangling in his hair as she deepend the kiss. His hands came to rest on the sides of her face carressing her cheeks as he positined himself between her legs and ground his hardness into her. Buffy gasped as she tore her mouth away and Spike trailed hi lips down her neck.
"Want you...........so much." Spike said huskily.
Buffy grabbed his head, bringing his face to her as she assaulted his mouth again as she rolled him over and she now straddled him.
Spikes hand drifted down and grabbed her ass roughly as they continued theur assault on one another.
They continued to hump one another until Spike tore his mouth away.
"Gonna come baby." Spike ground out breathlessly.
Spike convulced a few times until he was spent and then let his head fall back to the ground.
Buffy climbed off him and snuggled into his side.
After Spike caught his breath he rolled on to his side and captured Buffy lips as his hand trailed up he thighs and under her skir , dipping inside her panties.
Buffy gasped as Spikes finger entered her and his thumb rubbed her nubbin.
Buffy's hand fisted the blanket while the other hand dug into Spikes back.
Spike captured her mouth when she began to climax to cover her cries from Joyce and Giles who were in the kitchen.
Buffy laid there contentedely in Spikes arms until they heard they're names called.
They looked over to see Joyce standing in the door way.
"Rupert and I are going out to dinner. We'll see you two later tonight." Joyce said smiling as she turned back and closed the door.
Spike couldn't wait to jump in the shower. He pulled his jeans off and immediatley threw them into the washer. After his and Buffy's little session in the back yard, they really needed to be washed.
He showered quickly and changed into shorts and a t shirt.
Buffy had showered first and was already sitting on the sofa waiting for him.
"So what do you want to do tonight?" Buffy asked as he sat down and pulled her to lay down with him.
"Be alone with you." Spike replied as he caressed her back.
"Besides that." Buffy said.
"As long as I'm with you, it doesn't matter." Spike said closing his eyes and laying his head back enjoying the feeling of her in his arms.
Buffy smiled. "How bout we just stay here and do this?" Buffy suggested as she closed her eyes.
"Only if that's what you want." Spike said as a smile curved his lips.
