ANTONIO BANDERAS. BtVS Intertext/Allusion.
In "The Harsh Light of Day" (4003), Spike and Harmony, his new (and new-to-the-world of vampires) lover, have the following exchange:
Harmony: Is Antonio Banderas a vampire?
Spike: No.
Harmony: Can I make him a vampire?
Spike: No. On second thought, yes. Go do that. Take your time. Do Melanie and the kids as well.
Antonio Banderas (1960- ) is a Spanish-born film star, best known for his roles in Tie Me Up, Tie Me Down (1990), Desperado (1995), The Mask of Zorro (1998), and the Spy Kids films (2001, 2002, 2003). In Interview with the Vampire (1994), Neil Jordan's adaptation of Anne Rice's novel, Banderas plays the vampire Armand (1994), which perhaps explains Harmony's confused query. Since 1996 he has been married to actress Melanie Griffith (1957), star of such films as Body Double (1984), Something Wild (1986), Working Girl (1988), and Nobody's Fool (1994).
