Vanessa Knights is a Lecturer in Spanish and Latin American Studies at the University of Newcastle Upon Tyne. Her interests include Popular music in Latin America; feminism and women's movements in contemporary Spain and Latin America; contemporary Spanish and Spanish American narrative. Articles forthcoming on Spanish science fiction; popular music, modernization and constructions of modernity in Latin America, camp musical discourses in the films of Almodóvar and Latin divas as gay icons. She is currently working on the formation of identities in popular music and literature in the Hispanic Caribbean. |
