THE BRAVE LITTLE TOASTER. BtVS Intertext/Allusion.

Disney’s The Brave Little Toaster (1987) is a film based on a children’s tale by science-fiction author Thomas M. Disch (1940 -), entitled The Brave Little Toaster: A Bedtime Story for Small Appliances. It concerns a group of outdated appliances, which are left at a summer cottage. After learning that the cottage has been sold, they decide to travel the countryside, in search of their masters (à la The Incredible Journey).  Besides providing a lesson on the importance of friendship and cooperation, the film addresses the darker issues of abandonment, loneliness, and feelings of uselessness.  Followed by the direct-to-video sequels The Brave Little Toaster Goes to Mars and The Brave Little Toaster to the Rescue.

In the Season Four episode “Something Blue,” Willow is attempting to cope with the knowledge that Oz has left her, most likely for good.  Her friends discuss her sadness, until they spot her dancing vigorously at the Bronze:

Buffy: Wow.  Way to rebound.

Xander: I believe that’s the dance of a brave little toaster.
