SFA Fanfiction and Discussion List Rules

This list is solely for the distribution and discussion of BtVS and Angel fanfiction via email. Subscribers should expect to receive a substantial amount of email each day from the list.

Please note that stories submitted to the list are not archived to the Slayer's Fanfic Archive, nor can list messages be viewed on the Web. To participate in the mailing list, you must subscribe using a valid email account.

To subscribe to, or unsubscribe from, the mailing list, please use the appropriate form on the main mailing list page. You will then receive an email requesting you to confirm your subscription/unsubscription.

Rules for posting to the mailing list:

  • All posts must be related to BtVS and Angel fanfiction
  • Content rated R or NC-17 will not be tolerated
  • There will be no flaming of anyone on the list
  • All posts must either BE fanfic, or be discussion of fanfic writing and authors. Mildly off-topic subject (provided it still relates to the area of fanfiction) matter can be posted if it is posted in story-form.
  • Posts should be written using proper spelling, grammar, and etiquette (ie. no chat-speak please)
  • Please try to avoid sending HTML-formatted messages to the list because some email clients do not recognize HTML
  • Do not send attachments of any kind to the list
  • Fanfiction posted to the mailing list need not be completed works
  • Plagiarization will not be tolerated
  • Do NOT send fics to the list that do not belong to you. If some one wishes to have a fic sent or farwarded to the list, please direct them to the subscription page at this site.
  • When submitting fanfics to the list, please include a warning of what season and/or episode your story may include spoilers for.
  • Messages discussing current plotlines on the show should include at least a sentence or two relating to fanfiction.

Stories should follow the following format:

  • Each post should have a header properly denoting the story, such as:

    Title: Bringing in the Big Guns, 8/10
    Author: Anya
    Email: anya@somedomain.com (You may opt out of posting this if you choose!)
    Spoiler Warning: Buffy Season 4 / Up to "Primeval"
    Summary: Willow and Graham team up to heal old wounds and find a happier future.
    Disclaimer: Joss owns all, I just created this story concept.

  • The subject line of the email should follow the following format:
    FIC: Bringing in the Big Guns 8/10
  • Please use blank lines between paragraphs
