Beobachtungen und Randbemerkungen |
Buffy hatte auf ihrer alten Schule (Hemery High) in Los Angeles nicht die Außenseiterrolle,
die sie auf der Sunnydale High "genießt". Sie wurde in L.A. auch mehrmals auf
Schulbällen zur Schönheitskönigin (Prom Queen, Fiesta Queen) gewählt.
Als die Fotos für das Sunnydale High Jahrbuch gemacht wurden, war Buffy nicht dabei. Im Buch
wird also kein oder nur ein altes Bild von ihr sein.
Xander und Willow haben sich geküßt. Die Szene zeigt zweierlei: Willow hat trotz ihrer Liebe zu Oz ihre Gefühle für Xander nicht völlig verdrängt. Xander sieht Willow erst jetzt (mit dem Kleid) mit anderen Augen, woraus man wohl schließen kann, daß er bei der Auswahl seiner Partnerin Äußerlichkeiten viel mehr Beachtung als der Persönlichkeit schenkt. Dies hätte man allerdings auch schon aus seiner Beziehung zu Cordelia schließem können. ;-)
Der Bürgermeister hat einen leichten Reinlichkeitstick. Er ist sehr gut über die Vorgänge in der Stadt informiert und weiß, wie man schon vermuten konnte, auch von der Existenz der Vampire. Mit Mr. Trick hat er sein Team (was immer das auch sein mag) bereichert. Das laufende Jahr hat für ihn eine besondere Bedeutung.
Daß Mr. Trick das SlayerFest mit einer Jahreszahl betitelt, heißt vermutlich, daß er sowas regelmäßig veranstaltet.
Miller's Woods liegt östlich von Sunnydale und kann durch einen kurzen Fußmarsch erreicht werden.
Auch wenn es den Anschein hat, daß sich die Slayerettes gegen Buffy gewandt haben, als sie Cordelia beim Wahlkampf unterstützten, ist dem eigentlich nicht so. Sie konnten unmöglich ahnen, daß Buffy sich auch zu Wahl stellen würde, und taten so daß, was man im Rahmen einer normalen Clique von ihnen erwarten konnte.
Chad Strahelski, der unter der Maske Kulaks steckt, ist üblicherweise David Boreanaz Stunt-Double.
Man muß es beinahe schon extra erwähnen: Pro Sieben hat diese Episode am Samstag fast nicht geschnitten.

Einer der Vampire (Boone) wurde in seiner eigenen Falle gefangen nachdem Buffy ihn mit einer weiteren beworfen hat.
Kulak wurde von einer Granate der Deutschen erwischt weil es ihm anders als Cordelia und Buffy nicht gelingt rechtzeitig aus der Hütte zu fliehen. Kulak versucht aus einem zu gut gesicherten Fenster zu fliehen und liegt direkt auf der Granate als diese detoniert und die gesamte Hütte zerstört.
Cindy Gorch ist zu Staub zerfallen. Sie wurde vermutlich von Cordelia erwischt.
Lyle Gorch wurde von Cordelia mit Gelaber über den Ball und Mode in die Flucht geschlagen.
Buffy hat die beiden deutschen Jäger überlistet, so daß diese sich gegenseitig erschossen haben. Im Hintergrund hing übrigens ein "Problem solving" Schild bzw Plakat. :-)

Oz verballhornt den Ausdruck 'As General Motors goes, so goes my Nation.' Es wurde damit
ausgedrückt, dass das Schicksal der gesamten amerikanischen Nation von einem einzigen
Konzern abhängt.
"Well, he kinda grows on you, like... a Chia Pet."
Ein Chia-Pet sind kleine Tonfiguren (in der Regel in Tierform), deren Oberfläche von
vielen Rillen überzogen ist, in die man Samen (Kresse oder ähnliches) streuen kann.
Die kleinen Pflanzen wachsen wachsen auf der Figur und bilden so ein grünes "Fell".
"You're about to see why Daniel Boone and that idiot demon are creatures of the past [...]"
Daniel Boone gab es wirklich. Er war ein Trapper und Held in den Unabhängigkeitskriegen. Anfang des letzten Jahrhunderts hat er es bis in den Kongress geschafft.

Nachdem die beiden Jägerinnen das Training in der Bibliothek beendet haben, legt Faith ihre Handschuhe mit der rechten Hand auf einem der Tische ab. Als dann die Perspektive wechselt, hält sie sie noch in ihrer linken Hand.

Warum macht Buffy so ein großes Geheimnis daraus, daß Angel wieder da ist? Daß er wieder Angel (im Gegensatz zu Angelus) war, als sie ihn in die Hölle geschickt hat, hatte sie ja schon früher einmal erwähnt.
Warum stoppen die Scoobies Buffy nicht, als diese versucht mit ihnen den Wahlkampf gegen Cordelia zu organisieren? Sie wussten doch mit Sicherheit, das Cordelia gleich auftauchen und sie abholen würde.
