Synopsis

Cover 2 Cover 1 The Short: In Los Angeles, things aren't always what they seem. Angel tries to help a woman caught in an abusive marriage, never suspecting where the real danger lies. They say no good deed goes unpunished, and Angel is about to learn that firsthand.

The Long: Unfinished.

Creature Feature

A new creature introduced in this issue is a Changling. They are supposed to be a type of faerie. This one took revenge on an abusive husband by taking away his wife then impersonating her, punishing him be basically being a bitch to him, driving him insane. It was a shapeshifter, but it's natural form seemed to be an elongated humanoid one with no hair and insect-like wings.

Continuity

  1. The plot of this issue seems to fall sometime in season 1 after Lonely Hearts, since they know Kate, but before Hero, since Doyle is alive. Obviously it takes place after the Surrogates story of the last three issues as well.

Goofs

  1. Unfinished.

Trivia

Points Of View

Mathew:

Okay, a quick and simple one shot story. So far they've done a good job keeping the story from conflicting with the television series, and this is no exception. The Changling came off as a bit evil, more interested in vengeance then justice, but I suppose it was meant to. I am a little worried about the, coming up with go many races outside humans and demons. First we see Lamia, not Faeries. What's next? Little Green men? Sadly the art has taken a step down, IMHO. I preferred the work of Christian Zanier.
