Five By Five Episode Guide

Story Line

This Faith episode opens with a gang member approaching figures lit by a fire burning in a trashcan under a bridge. The member asks what they're up to, as the smell is woeful. However, before he can finish, he notes that the figure isn't a friend at all. It's a demon holding the dismembered human arm of (one presumes) his friend. The demon drops the arm into the fire. Stunned, the gang member watches in horror at first. He then runs and three demons give chase. The gang member pulls out his gun and fires at the demons but to no effect. At that moment, Angel's convertible screeches around the corner with Wesley at the wheel. Needless to say, Angel bests the demons with a nice beheading action courtesy of his sword. Angel confirms that he's saved the 'right guy' (Marquez).

A Greyhound-like bus pulls up, the door opens and the passengers step out. We follow a pair of black platform shoes. It's Faith (complete with duffle bag). We obviously don't know where the train from Sunnydale led to...suffice to say, she's not looking her best and, as noted in WAY, she's a million miles from happy.

As is common in film or TV, there's always a 'guy' at bus stops in L.A. looking to take advantage of girls who come there for a 'film career'. We don't know if this was the line he was gonna shoot Faith, but he tries. Walking next to her, he notes that she's new in town (no duh). He goes on to tell her that this is dangerous part of town and she should be careful because a 'lot of people' try to take advantage. Especially if they have no money or a place to stay. He informs the still walking Faith, that he may be able to help. Faith has clearly heard this crap before. She stops, looks to him and turns the tables on him. She tells him that she's cold. The guy happily removes his leather jacket. Faith hits him in the stomach, the face & keeps hitting and kicking him into unconsciousness. She leans down and takes his keys and wallet out of his jacket. She tells him (while donning the jacket) :"Now I got money and a place to stay. I think I'm gonna like it here.".

Post credits has us in Romania 1898. It's Darla's now famous 'birthday' present. The gypsy girl. Our parallel begins. Angelus prays on the defenseless girl.

Back in the present, Angel is convincing Marquez to testify. In the outer office, Cordy tells Wesley that it's never gonna happen. Judging the book by the cover, she tells Wesley that: " Someone with that much body art is gonna have a different definition of civic duty." After a little more discussion, Wesley tells us the key to the episode really. "He may be a ruffian, but he's already got a soul, and therefore deep down inside an urge to do what's right."

Inside...Angel could be talking to Faith. Angel: "You don't even know what you're up against, do you? You're gonna have to face your demons sometime." Marquez: "What if I don't want to face my demons?" This is great. For someone with no faith (no pun) in Faith, a viewer will presume that this guy is speaking for Faith by proxy.

Night falls and inside a club, Faith (who's clearly gone shopping, showered and changed) is dancing, drifting from guy to guy. She dances up to a girl, then takes the arms of the guy the girl was dancing with and wraps them around her waist. The girl stops and stares while Faith rubs herself against the guy. Girl: "Excuse me!" The guy Faith is dancing with is amused at this point. Faith turns to his girlfriend and says: "Okay, you're excused." More than annoyed, the girl states the obvious: "That's my boyfriend!" Faith looks at her: "Really?" She turns back to the guy, grabs the neck of his shirt and looks down the front. Turning back to the girl she continues: "You have your name on him? Because I don't see it - anywhere!"

Faith turns back to the guy, who's not so amused now. The girl pouts and says: "Billy! Do something!" Faith mocks her to Billy: "Yeah, Billy, do something!" She's bored with the girl now, so she continues: "Like this!" Faith elbows the girl in the face. Billy tries to hit Faith, but she deflects him and he stumbles into a guy behind her. A fight ensues and slowly spreads to others, during which Faith keeps dancing to the (very well chosen) music, while throwing the occasional punch or kick.

It really lets us have another peek into Faith's state of mind at this point. The next day sees us in court with Lindsey arguing that the District Attorney, while presenting 'an entertaining case' has been unable to produce any witnesses to prove his client's guilt. The DA objects to the Judge, saying that if Wolfram & Hart would stop tampering with their witnesses, they might! Lindsey counters that 'witness tampering' is a serious allegation and he'll be filing a grievance to the A.B.A. (American Bar Association) for that remark. He continues that the Prosecution has no case and requests that all charges against his client (whose reputation has been irreparably damaged by these proceedings) be dropped. At that moment, Angel and Marquez walk in and Lindsey knows he's lost. Angel tells Lindsey (in the packed courtroom) that his client 'really is an upstanding citizen...except for all that pesky drug-dealing and murder stuff.' Angel smiles to Lindsey while Marquez is sworn in.

Back at Lindsey's office, Lee tells him that he's found a solution to their 'Angel' problem. Cut to the lobby of W& H and Lilah is a step ahead of Lee. She tells him she heard about his solution to their 'friendly neighborhood vampire'. Lee is smug about it. But Lilah tells him she knows where the 'rogue Slayer' is, hence she'll make contact due to Lee's lack of people skills. Lee's way ticked. Lilah throws him a bone by saying he can ride in the limo.

In the interim, Cordelia has had a call from a guy who wants them to spy on his wife. Cordy's agreed on a meeting (despite them not doing divorce cases) as there's so much money involved. A bit of banter about the case...Cordy doesn't want to disclose too much. She merely tells a newly arrived Angel and Wesley that they may have a new client and he can afford to pay. She asks how the case went. Wes says they won. He goes on to tell Angel that young man was very lucky to have run into Angel. A clue of what's about to come, Angel tells him that he 'just needed a little guidance - a push in the right direction.' Wesley wonders aloud how Wolfram and Hart will push back.

That night sees Lilah making good on her contacting Faith. She walks beside the young Slayer, somehow, having talked her outside of the bar she was in. Faith tells her: "I guess we could go somewhere and talk, but I'm not much of a talker. I'm more of a doer." Lilah replies with: "I think you might have misunderstood my intentions." Faith gives Lilah a quick scan and says: "No, I think you misunderstood mine. I like that watch. Diamonds, right?" Faith backs Lilah into a chain link fence. Lilah is worried. She says simply: "Faith." Faith is sus now and demands: "How do you know my name? I don't think I told you." Lilah gives a small smile and replies: "We are well aware of who you are - and what you do. We know you have been experiencing some - difficulties. We think we can help bring some order back to your life."

Faith is not liking the situation at all and becomes more aggressive: "We do, do we? Who is we, and why do they know me when I don't know Jack about you?"
Justifiably scared, Lilah quickly (and deftly) tries to earn Faith's trust: "Green - is my favorite color. I look good in diamonds - and I love riding in limousines." Faith turns around as Lee opens the back door of a black limousine from the inside and calls out to her: "Faith - can we talk?" She looks back to Lilah who gives her a small smile. Faith simply states to Lilah: "I like black." Faith gets into the limo, Lilah follows.

Flashback to Romania and we see Darla entering the house she and Angelus are apparently living in. She calls to him. With no reply, she walks further in and calls again. Angel, backed tightly up against a wall tells her, obviously distraught, that 'not everybody screams'. Darla is obviously confused and thinks he's playing a game. Angel continues that the children always scream. Darla smiles and concurs. She goes on to ask if he's brought her some. Angel continues, distressed. He tells Darla that they've drunk and killed for 140-odd years. Darla takes his face in her hands, concerned now, she asks where he's been. Angel pushes her away only to grab onto her in desperation again. But Darla finally senses something's wrong. She tells him to let go and asks what's happened to him. He tells her that the gypsy girl's people found him and 'did something' to him. Darla thinks it's some sort of spell. Angel goes on to say that he can't believe he remembers 'every-single-one!' He begs Darla to help him but she's repulsed. "The spell- they gave you a soul. A filthy soul! No!You're disgusting!" Angel calls for help again, but Darla tells him to get away from her. She smashes a chair, and tries to stake Angel. Angel is shocked. He tells her that he's like she is. Darla, riddled with revulsion says: "You're not like anything. Get away from me. Get out!" (Angel stumbles out of the house) "I'll kill you!" Angel flees the house.

Back to present day: Faith is pacing the floor of Lindsey's office as he reads out her file. Lilah and Lee are also there. Lindsey: "A felony arrest warrant from Sunnydale was issued in your name. Physical description is quite accurate. The photograph, however, is not flattering. There is a lot of personal stuff that is of no interest to me, but what they do fail to mention is that you are a Slayer."
Lilah: "Which is why we found you so appealing." Lindsey: "You have a problem. We have a problem. I just had a perfectly good murder case go up in smoke and you seem to have a certain expertise in that area. So to make a long story... less long... I think if a service is rendered we can get you off." Faith smiles and says: "You don't know how many men have promised me that." Not entirely comfortable, Lilah puns: "I'm certain you won't be disappointed in our performance." Faith cuts to the chase. Simply asking: "Who am I supposed to kill?" Lindsey, attempting to make their motives somewhat less seedy says: "Please understand that we would never advocate the killing of another human being. His name is Angel. He's somewhat of a private..." Faith automatically (obviously) knows who he's talking about. She cuts him of mid sentence with: "...No problem."

The three lawyers are a little stunned. Lee asks: "Don't you want to know anything more?" Faith replies practically: "Yeah. Besides getting me off, how much are you going to pay?" Lee, arrogant as ever and trying to belittle Faith replies: "It might behoove you to know more about your intended. So, before we discuss remuneration..." Always cutting to the chase, Faith, not knowing legalese says: "Huh?" Slightly annoyed, Lee spells things out for her, impatiently: "Payment." He then becomes arrogant again and says: "I want to make sure you understand that this firm is in no way connected to - anything you do. It's my ass on the line here. I don't want you to make me look bad."

Faith grabs him by the neck and slams his face on the table. She asks him "How do you look now?" Faith keeps pounding his face on the table. Lilah smiles at Lindsey and notes: "She shows initiative."
Lindsey merely hits the intercom and says: "Jesse, I think you better make it 3 for dinner instead of 4."

The next day sees Angel, Cordy and Wesley stepping out of an elevator Cordy tells Angel and Wesley that the guy is busy, so lunch was the only time they could meet. Wesley asks what sort of demons they're dealing with. Cordy replies that it's not really a 'demon thing'. She finally caves and tells them it's a 'husband-wife thing'. Both Angel and Wesley sigh. Angel tells her it's just not what they do. Cordy counters that the guys in government and to at least talk to him. Angel sighs and says he didn't bring any money with him. He smiles as Cordy compares him to Elvis. She goes on to say they should really apply for a small business loan. Meanwhile, Faith, standing a few feet behind Angel, aims her crossbow and fires. Sensing something, Angel turns and catches the arrow, one handed. Faith smiles and says: "That was so cool! This is gonna be fun!" She then turns and runs outside into the daylight. Wesley makes his keen observational skills apparent. Telling us all that it was Faith (sigh).

Back at Angel's office, he hangs up the phone after confirming with Giles that Faith is, indeed, 'awake' (unseen). He tells Cordy and Wesley that Faith left Sunnydale about a week ago and described her as 'borderline psychotic'. Wesley moans that it's not right that Giles didn't give him a 'heads up' b/c he was her Watcher. Angel counters that Giles didn't know she's be 'coming after' him and that he (Giles) was worried about Buffy. Cordy asks what they can do to help Angel. He tells them he wants them to help him track her down then make themselves scarce, citing he doesn't want to give Faith any 'free targets'. Wesley notes that: "You've been targeted by a psychotic! I'm certainly not going to run and hide."

Cordy likes the part about making themselves scarce. Wesley continues that they've 'got to band together' and that they're a 'team'. Annoyed, Angel stands and states: "She coming for me. I've got a fight coming up. I don't want you to get in the way." and "We're not a team. I'm your boss. You go where I tell you and I tell you to lay low." Observant as ever, Wesley tells Angel that he's taking all this personally. Angel replies with the fact that Faith, did, actually try to kill him, so yeah, he's taking it personally. Wesley counters that he can't get emotional about it or one of them will end up dead. Angel states it's what Faith wants. Horrified, Wesley urges that: "That's not good enough! She's not a demon, Angel. She is a sick, sick girl. If there is even a chance she can be reasoned with..."

Angel cuts him off: "There was. Last year I had a shot at saving her. I was pulling her back from the brink when some British guy kidnapped her and made damn sure she'd never trust another living soul." Cordelia comes into the conversation with: "Angel, it's not Wesley's fault that some British guy ruined your...Oh. Wait..." She turns to a defeated Wesley "...That was you." She tells Angel to continue. Wesley tells him there's no need. Angel drops it and tells everyone to 'just get to work'.

A short time later, Angel is looking in his weapons cabinet. He hears a noise upstairs. He walks slowly to the office. Someone opens the blinds in the outer office as Angel walks towards it, flooding it with sunlight. No surprise. It's Faith. Smiling, Faith says: "Hey, baby! Come give us a hug." Angel obviously stays put. He states: "I was hoping you'd stop by. Always good to see old friends." He observes as Faith takes out a revolver and cocks it. "What's this? Wooden bullets?"

Still smiling, Faith says: "Ooh, good idea! But no, this is for you. You know I'm going to kill you slowly and inventively, so I'm gonna give you one chance..." She tosses him the gun. Angel catches it and shoots at her right leg. Faith laughs. Angel almost gives a smile. He tosses the gun back to her: "Blanks. Nice." Faith says: "You didn't shoot to kill! We're gonna have to up the stakes, get you in the game a little." Angel is downbeat. "What's the game exactly, Faith? Boredom? Revenge?" Faith lays it on the line: "Dude, I'm getting paid! They hate you almost as much as I do." Angel, still unmoved replies: "Ever occurred to you this might be more fun for me?" Again, Faith smiles: "You think? Because what if you kill me and you experience that one true moment of pleasure? Oops! I'd get off on that." She then becomes serious. "Go ahead. Do me. Let's take that hell ride together. Come on, Angel, I'm all yours! I'm giving you an open invitation!" She's slightly annoyed. "Jeez, you're pathetic! You and your little tortured soul, got to think everything through. Well, think fast, lover. You don't do me, you know I'm gonna do you!" She aims her gun at Angel and pulls the trigger.

Angel staggers back under the impact as the bullet hits his chest, gasping with pain. Faith states the obvious: "Gosh. That one wasn't a blank. Let the games begin." She then jumps out through the window leaving Angel to his thoughts.

That night, Angel makes his way to Lindsey's office, actually stopping to have a phony conversation with a lawyer on the way. The lawyer's too into his own world to consider that Angel isn't who he thinks he is. Angel then proceeds to Lindsey's office. Once inside, he sits down at the desk and look through papers. The door opens and Lindsey walks in. He smiles and shakes his head when he sees Angel. The two talk around the main topic. Faith. Angel wants to know where she is. Lindsey's not telling. He's merely keeping Angel engaged until security gets there. He tells Angel: "You know a vampire can't walk in here without us knowing it. We have a highly sophisticated security system, spent a fortune on mystical barriers and such. Nice to know our investment paid off." Angel grabs the security guard coming at him with his gun drawn and slams him down on the table, knocking him out. Linsdey's not bothered. "Well, one down. More on the way. And the police have been called. And this whole encounter has been visually recorded on hi-def. So, despite the fact that I'm sure it would make an entertaining evening watching you fight for your life, not to mention the fortune I could make off the video, I do have a dinner." Angel picks up his briefcase: "Good to see you again, Lindsey. We'll do this real soon." As Angel walks out, Lindsey says: "You know, just when I think I got you figured out, you show up in a suit." Angel continues to walk out.

Wesley is reading from a report as he and Cordy walk up to her apartment, night. He reads out Faith's 'LA tour' so far. One assault only two blocks away. A fight in a bar, several arrests made. Not Faith though. Wesley tells Cordy she broke a policeman jaw with his own handcuffs before 'she disappeared into the night'. While Wesley's reading, Cordy's having problems with 'Phantom Dennis'. She tells him it's just Wesley. This time, the door remains open. Both Cordy and Wesley enter and Cordy turns on the light. Again, observant Wesley 'presumes' it's 'Dennis your ghost?' Cordy affirms the observation, citing that Dennis is jealous. She tells Dennis "Hell will freeze over before I have sex with him." Wesley says he's going to call Angel, Cordy tells him she's going to her room to pack a bag. As Cordy is about to enter her room, Faith steps out. "I've got a little problem. I don't feel Angel's in the game. But, somehow, I feel you guys are the key." She pauses and looks to Wesley. "Now what can I do to really make him hate me?" Wesley tries to calm her by saying her name soothingly. She merely tells him to 'shut up'. He tries again with the tried and failed: "It's not too late."
Faith picks up the sentence with "...For cappuccino? 'cause it just keeps me up." Wesley continues: "It's not too late to let me help you. I realize there have been failures, on both sides.(!) But I also believe in my heart that you are not a bad person." Faith elbows Cordy in the face dropping her. She says: "What do you believe in your heart now?" Wesley hits her with a right cross. Faith comes back up holding her lip: "Alright, Wes! My turn." She kicks him across the room.

Flashback to Borsa and Angel is walking the streets. A woman and three men come out of an inn. Angel tells them he's hungry. The man tells him to go away. He tosses him some coins after the woman says to leave him alone, he's just a beggar. Angel picks the money off the ground and throws it back at the man saying he doesn't want his money. The man is furious. Angel goes on to say "I want her." (in vamp face). The woman cries out that he's a monster. As three guys drag him into an alley, he repeats what the woman said. Calling himself a 'monster'. Sounds of fighting fill the air. One of the men comes flying (courtesy of Angel) past the woman. The woman asks if 'Rudolph' is all right. Angel stumbles out of the alley, grabs the woman and drags her into the alley. He pushes her up against a wall and sinks his teeth into her neck.

Present: Angel enters Cordy's apartment. He hears moaning and runs over to where Cordy is just coming to. Cordy tells him it was Faith and that she was 'like an animal' and said 'You weren't in the game'. He calms Cordy and she asks about Wesley. Both realize he's not in the apartment.

Wesley is sitting gagged and bound to chair in the middle of a fairly nice apartment. He is beaten up. Faith is slowly pacing in front of him, then suddenly jumps onto his lap. Wesley lets out a muffled scream. She licks two fingers and rubs the swelling under Wesley's right eye: "All these little cuts and bruises...just bring out the mother in me." She takes his face between her hands and slaps his cheek. He looks like he's about to pass out. "Come on. Now, now, don't poop out on me, damn it! Otherwise this all just going to be over too fast, and you'll be dead and I'll be... bored! Come on, Wesley! Where is that stiff upper lip?" She gets off him. "Now, we've only done one of the five basic torture groups. We've done blunt, but that still leaves sharp, cold, hot and loud. Have a preference?" Wesley looks at her and nods. Faith pulls the gag out of his mouth. "Well, that great! It's always better with audience participation." She smiles. "May I take your order please?" Wesley spits on the floor to one side of her. He looks her in the eye. "I was your Watcher, Faith. I know the real you and even if you kill me, there is just one thing I want you to remember."

Faith actually looks vulnerable here. Like he may say something nice. She asks: "What's that, love?" He announces: "You... are a piece of sh.." Obviously hurt, Faith interrupts him, stuffing the gag back into his mouth. She's angry now: "You should talk, huh? I guess I'll just have to try a little harder." She walks over to a picture frame, smashes it on the table and picks up one of the glass shards. "We'll switch to sharp for a while."

Cordy and Angel are sitting in her apartment looking at a map of LA. They trace her movements back to 'victim number one' who is still in the hospital. Angel asks where he lives.

Back at the guy's apartment, Faith is sitting in the open window looking at the bloodstained piece of glass in her hands. She lets it drop and listens to it shatter as it hits the ground far below. She sighs then gets off the windowsill and comes over rubbing her hands together. "That's refreshing. But I'm feeling a little cold." She pats Wesley on the cheek as she passes him and moves to the kitchen. "What do you say we warm the place up?"

There are several bloodstains now on Wesley's shirt. Faith picks up a stove lighter. "Did you ever wonder... if things would have been different... if we'd never met? What if you'd had Buffy and Giles would have been my Watcher? You think you'd still be here right now? Or would Giles be sitting in that chair?" She gives a small laugh then continues. "Or is it just like fate. You know, there is no choice. You were gonna be here no matter what." She picks up a spray can. "You think about that stuff? Fate and destiny?" She walks over to Wesley. "I don't." She depresses the top of the spray can and holds the lighter flame into the spray igniting it where Wesley can get a good look at the resulting flame. "Not that any of this is your own fault. Since this may be the last chance we will have to unload on each other, I feel that it is kind of my duty to tell you, that if you'd been a better Watcher, I might have been a more positive role model! Face it Wesley! You really were a jerk. Always walking around as if you had some great big stake rammed up your English Channel." She frowns and takes the gag out. "I think I want to hear you scream."

Faith ignites her instant flame thrower again. Wesley groans: "You never will." Faith smiles. "Admit it, Wesley, didn't you always kind of have the hots for me?" Faith ignites the flame again just as the door bursts from its hinges and Angel slowly walks in. Faith drops the can and lighter, pulls a knife and holds it against Wesley's throat. She isn't surprised to see him. Chiding him, she says: "About time, soul-boy. Ready to play now?" Angel replies simply: "I'm ready."

Flashback to Borsa again and Angel stumbles out of the alley he'd dragged the woman down. He's tortured. He says to himself "I can't. Oh God, I can't." The woman comes up to the corner of the alley breathing hard and leaning against the wall. She watches him and fingers the bite mark on her neck. Angel stumbles against a wall gasping, looking desperate, then moves on.

Present: Faith's still got the knife to Wesley's throat: "Okay, you showed. But how do I know you are really in this? I mean if I kill him, would that help, or just be really funny?" Angel is SO wise to her. He states: "You don't think I know what you're after? I do."

Faith ignores his statement and continues to taunt. "You I have to kill. Wesley is just for the hell of it." Angel is slowly walking further into the room, keeping her eye on him causes Faith to have to turn from behind Wesley, to beside him. Just as Faith ignores Angel's comment, Angel ignores Faith's. He tells her straight: "This isn't about Wesley. This is about you and me." Faith disagrees: "No, baby, he's payback." Angel plays the psychology card: "For what? I thought you were happy with the way you are. By the way, you never told me how much I'm worth dusted, just out of curiosity." Faith answer's the second part of his question only: "$15,000 plus expenses." Angel all but laughs, saying: "You're kidding." Faith states: "Hey, I'm young, willing to work my way up." She still has the knife to Wesley's throat. Again, Angel plays psychologist: "You feel young? Do you, Faith? You're looking pretty worn out to me." At that point, Wesley throws himself back toppling his chair and Angel instantly kicks Faith away from him.

Wesley sees that Faith's knife is sticking point down in the wooden floor beside him. Faith picks up a piece of wood and attacks Angel. The slam each other around and Angel manages to get the impromptu stake away from Faith, tossing her onto the sofa, and breaks it over his knee. Faith stops to ask Angel: "Is that all you got, vampire? Get in the game!" She kicks the glass topped sofa table at his face and broken glass flies everywhere. She jumps him, wrapping her legs around his waist and slamming him against the wall. She keeps hitting him, and they both fall to the floor with Faith sitting on top. She's angry at Angel, she feels he's holding back: "Come on, Angel! I thought you were bad!"

He takes a hold of one of her wrists and tosses her off him. Faith tries to hit him with a floor lamp, but he avoids the hit, so she instead sweeps the feet out from under him as he gets up then catapults him over the sofa and across the room. She jumps over the sofa after him. Smashes a vase over his back then slams him into the ceiling. Meanwhile Wesley has shimmied around and is trying to cut his bonds using the knife stuck in the floor. Faith swings at Angel but he keeps ducking them, so instead she kicks him in the gut. Angel come back and hits her, she hits back then tosses him back over the sofa. She becomes more enraged. "You can't take me! No one can take me!"

Faith jumps to kick him again as he gets up, but Angel intercepts her kick with a piece of furniture. Faith sends him flying across the room again, then smashes up a glass-shelving unit when Angel ducks her next kick. Angel slams Faith down on the floor then slides her headfirst across the room into a wall. Faith comes up with another piece of wood in her hand. Faith: "Come on!" Angel tackles her and they both burst through the window, falling two stories to land on a trash-container lid. They roll off of it and Faith again throws Angel around. Her wild abandon has gone into overdrive. Storm clouds have gathered.

Faith screams to Angel: "You're gonna die!"
Meanwhile, inside, Wesley is almost done sawing through his ropes. Faith keeps hitting and kicking Angel. Halfway through it starts to first rain. Faith screams at Angel again: "You hear me? You don't know what evil is! I'm bad! Fight back!"

Wesley has freed his hands and is untying the other ropes. Faith keeps whaling on Angel, sometimes he ducks, sometimes the hits connect. Angel grabs a hold of her: "Nice try, Faith." He tosses her away from him. He then walks after her. A little tired. "I know what you want." The rain is pouring now. Faith hits Angel and he hits back dropping her. She comes back up hitting and screaming, but it's unfocused rage and emotion.

Wesley leans out of the window and sees Faith beating up on Angel. He goes into the kitchen and grabs a butcher knife, then heads for the door. Angel as he dodges another hit: "I'm not gonna make it easy for you!" Faith throws herself against Angel screaming: "I'm evil! I'm bad! I'm evil! Do you hear me? I'm bad!" She finally 'breaks'. Grabbing hold of Angel, she shakes him, screaming and crying "Angel, I'm bad! I'm ba-ad. Do you hear me? I'm bad! I'm bad! I'm bad. Please! Angel, please...just do it."

Wesley comes running out of the house. Faith is sobbing: "Angel please, just do it. Just do it. Just kill me. Just kill me." Knowing full well that this is what Faith has wanted all along, Angel wraps his arms around her shoulders and pulls her against him. She over balances them and they sink to their knees, Angel still holds her as she cries.
