Summary
This is part two of a wonderful Buffy double however- note: For simplicity's sake, Buffy is Faith and Faith is Buffy. OR ...as in notes in the credits...Eliza is Buffy and SMG is Faith. Wonderfully played on both parts. Eliza has Buffy's quirks 'down'...while Sarah has (although not quite as well as Eliza) managed to tap into Faith's vulnerability...specifically the love scene with Riley.
Story LineThe episode picks up probably about five minutes after TYG left off. The ambulance guys are taking Buffy away and a detective tells us that Faith is 'one dangerous girl'. Something Faith counters "She's not a girl." Later, in the trashed living room, Joyce tells us that she thinks Faith is "horribly unhappy." Naturally, Faith doesn't agree with Joyce's observations. BreakdownThis episode is obviously pivotal in the 'Faith Stakes'. It's brilliant but also annoying. No surprise to learn that Buffy gains absolutely NO insight into Faith what-so-ever. She's treated like trash. In this season (4th) it REALLY is the 'me me me' season. Buffy 1st-3rd season--The 'moralistic' Buffy we actually like, would not condone how Faith was treated.
